Best RV Parks & Resorts near Orangeville, UT

Newer RV Park with super friendly and helpful staff. The owner was on-site and very active. Good dude.
Sites are gravel but level. Sites are still under final construction and from what I saw, will back-up to the river. We stayed 2 nights and visited family in Price, UT. Due to COVID we did not use their Bathroom facilities.
We would stay again when we are passing through on US-6. Small world - we visited the Umpqua Lighthouse in OR and met a Tour Guide that had been the Camp Host at Castle Gate RV park! Like us, he liked the place!

After our water getting turned on in our trailer by mistake while driving, this site came as a relief.  It was just plain EASY.  Clean site, full hook ups.  It gave us an opportunity to dry things out, have full power etc.  They had a dog park.  Store, Fuel and food.

A plane flew in 100 yards from our site, the freeway was adjacent, trucks rumbling AND a train track!  Ha ha!  But honestly, it was easy to get a good nights sleep, even so.

We have just made reservations to stay there again in May 2022. It was a great stay. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because some of the sites aren't level and are pretty close to each other. I had to use 3 yellow square leveling blocks on the left side. Hopefully they fixed this under the new ownership. Swimming pool was great. Did not use the showers or bathrooms so no comment on them. Staff was (and is now--I just made reservations for May 2022) very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place in the Ephraim- Mt Pleasant- Fairview area with full hook-ups...........THIS IS IT! Highly recommended. We love exploring the area and Skyline Drive. Beautiful country. Just 8 miles from the amazing little Fairview museum where we learned about the Mormon pioneers who settled here. No little black flies when we were there but during some weeks can be an annoying problem. We are excited to stay there again.

There are only 11 asphalt paved RV camp sites. There are 14 tent sites.
Each site has a covered pavilion with a picnic table, fire ring and a tent site. Drinking water is located throughout the campground. The bathrooms have flushing toilets and hot water in the sinks. They are spotless! The showers are equally as clean. There are no bad views here! The hiking and biking trails are right there. This one is one of my favorites! Go!

Stayed in site 8, which has a shallow and uneven driveway. We used several leveling blocks which helped. Site 6 is ideal in terms of proximity to toilets and relatively level site with trees and a water tap just adjacent. There are 9 total sites, 5 are group sites so tend to be LOTS of people around. Group sites are large and are only$20/night and site 9 is roomy, relatively private and has vault toilets adjacent. Walking trails in/around campground.

Lots of families. Safe. Rather enjoyed a sing-along one night with LOTS of kids.

2nd stay (June): Stayed again for 2 nights, this time in spot 6 which is roomier than 8 and one of only a few single family campsites. Renovation installed a new picnic table and fire pit but removed the tent pad. Water tap still adjacent. 

Big family gatherings due to large family spots, across were 6 RVs in one spot and trucks parked everywhere including on the grass. Fairly quiet and respectful but dogs were allowed to run loose and while seemingly friendly, they were not supervised for pooping. This also means bathrooms were under serious strain esp re: available toilet paper.

Nearby: On Hwy 31, appear to be a variety of dispersed camping spots, most are not well marked. Some appear to have names, but not sure if they are reservable. Most are for "groups" but are typically only $20/night, some smaller group sites are only$10/night. Seem to be largely FCFS. Several have vault toilets adjacent.

Visited nearby Huntington Lake State Park, which is relatively modest in terms of facilities, basically a lake and a campground (no shade). The sites adjacent to the lake look nice (~sites 1-5) and have partial hookups but the trees are sparse. There is a trail around the lake, but it appears mainly to be a gravel road with some benches here/there.

Food aside (freeze dried packs with our own add-ons): Had Peak beef pasta marinara with italian and garlic seasoning. FQ (fart quotient) is low. Had garlic mashed and Hatch green chile mac (from Sprouts). Added pepper jerky to the mashed before water and the cheese (Mexican blend) and one packet of fajita chicken (Wal Mart, about $1.25) and some Kinder's smoked garlic into the mac when it was ready. Also crumbled some 4 cheese Triscuits on top. 

Had Mountain House freeze-dried scrambled eggs in wheat tortillas with cheese, bacon (in at finish), and pepper jerky (in with water). Two servings would have made~4 burritos. Also recommend cutting back on the water to ~2/3-3/4c. Added pepper, garlic powder to eggs. 

Had Mountain House pad thai with chicken for dinner. Didn't add sriracha seasoning but put our own smoked garlic, Wal Mart applewood smoked chicken packet and the supplied lime, peanut butter, and nuts (supplemented the nuts with our own).

Though we tend to prefer a more low-key experience, GBSP camping is beautiful and the sites are well taken care of. If you're fortunate enough, snag a site adjacent the sweet rocks. Level sites w shades at the picnic tables. The bathroom has running hot and cold water, and there are showers available. Expensive, but the fee includes entry to the state park.

Ashley here with The Dyrt. We're so happy to have this beautiful property on our platform. Level site, no amenities, pack it in, pack it out! This property was made for campers who truly want the camping experience. Sleep beneath millions of stars and then go for a walk. There are no rules but one: "do at least 250 yards of the 2.5 mile loop trail hike to the sheep camp, pond and stream and historic stone buildings(the trail head is located on the north side of the main wagon wheel camping area right next to the port-a-potty)." Check them out and come back here to leave them some love.

There is not much to do in the area and the lake is seriously low, but it is a great place to park for a night or two if you want peace and quite and you have a big rig. We have a 42 ft motorhome and a separate pickup with a 6x12 trailer and we fit both in a pull through sie and it looked like there was another 40 feet available. We were in campsite #2 but it looks like there are other sites that are quite long. The site was level with water and 50 among power.

This area is accessed by 4 double track dirt roads on right as you pass the new but uncompleted sign for the expanded Goblin Valley St Park. This area used to be BLM dispersed camping but was made part of goblin a year or so ago. Goblin still allows free dispersed on these sites as of 9.2023 but that could change in future? These two track roads go to the trailhead signs for Wildhorse Window and Wildhorse Canyon hikes. Nice level sites with good views but no shade and exposed to winds. Cell signal is dependent on line of sight to Hanksville cell tower. Goblin entrance station has wifi and a water stand pipe they let dispersed campers use. No garbage dumpsters unless you pay to access goblin park at $20 vehicle.

There is also more free dispersed past the Goblin entrance station going out to Little Wildhorse slot canyon, but those areas have longer very rough access roads to get to camp sites and would likely be a problem with loose sand in spots or mud if wet. Plus no cell since on lee side of big Mesa feature.

Note the two BLM developed fee CGs on Temple wash do not have water or trash.

Arrived on a Sunday in September after the reservation only period. Only two campers (including us) on the campground. It is beautifully settled in the hills. The lake is not accessible at this time due to low water level, but the view in all directions is beautiful. Water and electricity hookups are available, free dump station, too.

The goblin Valley Campground is located within goblin Valley State Park in Utah. This is pretty much in the middle of nowhere between Hanksville and Green River on a 12 miles off detour off Highway 24. The park itself provides access to a rare and bizarre landscape of rock formation some assembling goblins mushrooms and other spires which is pretty unique to the area. The campground is nestled on the edge of some of these rock for atto a in a really scenic location. Covered picnic tables fire rings we’re also provided and a paved driveway and tent pads were also provided. No water, electric hook-ups. However, despite a fairly steep price for a standard non-electric site ( $30) minimal facilities were offered. The bathrooms and showers were closed for the season (it was late December) ang there was only access to a pit toilet near the yurts a little walk away from the campsites. There were flushing toilets a couple of miles away at the visitor center and a at the major view point over the valley of goblins. no cell reception on either Verizon or AT&T.

This campground has beautiful lake views and electric and water hookups. It is a little more expensive than we like but the scenery and hookups are nice.

May 2020 - In the midsts of the Coronavirus scare, we were allowed to stay at this campground overnight. Which we appreciated. However, we were charged $38 for electric hookup and opened bathrooms. We enjoyed all the birds in old groth trees. Double sites so you’re certainly close to your neighbor. Although near the highway, the traffic noise is not bad.
