Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lindon, UT

Several RV parks near Lindon provide full hookup options for larger motorhomes and travel trailers. Mountain Valley RV Resort in Heber City features concrete pads with 50-amp electrical hookups, water, and sewer connections. The resort accommodates big rigs with pull-through sites and includes shower facilities, a dump station, and picnic tables at each site. "One of our all time favorite RV parks... The concrete was level and spacious, each with its own picnic table," noted one camper. Lakeside RV Campground in Provo offers full hookups with back-in and pull-through sites, though spaces can be tight for larger vehicles. Mountain Shadows RV Park in Draper provides 50-amp service with spacious sites that accommodate large motorhomes and tow vehicles, while Canyon View RV Park in Spanish Fork features back-in sites with water and electric hookups.

Between May and October, most RV parks in the area operate at full capacity, though several remain open year-round including Pony Express RV Resort and Lakeside RV Campground. Cell service varies by location, with stronger coverage at parks closer to urban areas. Many parks restrict wood fires but allow propane fire pits. Pet policies differ significantly—Mountain Valley RV Resort provides dog parks and washing stations, while other facilities have breed or size restrictions. Dump stations are available at most parks for a fee ($10 at some locations), though Gladstan Golf Course RV Park lacks this amenity. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, many parks have noise considerations, with one visitor noting "You are directly next to the Provo airport which did get active around 6 am." Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer months and holiday weekends when occupancy regularly reaches capacity.

    Canyon View RV Park

Just a parking lot, but in a beautiful park/awesome walk/bike trail!

First come, first serve, dump station on site(back of parking lot), friendly camphost; great access to an awesome bike/walk trail, close to town& Walmart

SITE: Water and Electricity only and all amenities worked great. All sites are back in and spaced in a large parking lot. Picnic table per site in the shade under the trees by your site; level site; all concrete; the sites are close together, but it wasn't full so the RVers thoughtfully spaced out from each other; full sun

CELL SERVICE: AT&T worked great- not all bars but it worked well for use working remote and no issues with video calls using our hotspot.

OTHER: Located on the edge of Canyon View Park. The park had just closed as they prep for their annual Christmas light show, but you could still walk on the trail through the park to access the main bike/walk trail which was awesome and goes on for many miles! We loved using this everyday we were there. Bathroom in the park was really clean. Dump station is in the parking lot(super convenient) on the back side. It was super gusty, windy at night and consistent every night from about 11pm- 10am. Maybe it's just seasonal? Make sure your awning is in!

    Washington Lake Campground

A very popular, family friendly, beautiful campground.

We stayed for 7 nights (the limit) in August of 2023. It's all paved, asphalt road and concrete pad for picnic table. Very beautiful setting with the large lake and mountains surrounding. Fishing-yes! Hand powered boating, hiking trails and lots of other lakes to explore.

There no water available but you can fill your RV, Trailer or whatever at the entrance to the Lost Creek CG which is about 3 miles east on Hwy 150. No Dump station, nearest being in Kamas.

Seems to be a popular place for local (SLC) families to gather. Family friendly so lots of kids. Quiet time 10PM to 6AM.

Dry Hollow Campground — Echo State Park

    Right by the lake

We are at a spot that is on a cement loop (#1) which was unlevel and it is not next to the lake but closer to the road (which is not too busy) but a view of the lake. You get a nice covered pavilion with a steel picnic table and fire ring with grate for grilling. The camp host was very sweet. Most of the sites are pull through and accommodates big rigs very well. The park managers keep it clean.

Chokecherry Campground — Deer Creek State Park

    Decent state park

Camped here last minute while driving through. Well-run, easy check in, reasonably priced.

There are both primitive tent and RV sites with hookups. Small to large sites, back-in and a few pull through. Lots of trees and lilac bushes offer some privacy.

Fire rings, plus BBQ grills, picnic tables at each site. Centrally located bathrooms were clean. Water, trash and dump station by entrance.

The campground is on an incline so there are decent views of the reservoir from just about anywhere and the mountain backdrop to the east. Small but clean beach. There was also ziplining and kayak rentals at the state park but both were closed due to COVID.

    Would camp here again.

    Lodgepole Campground

Lodgepole Campground - Group Site B

Nice basic campground just coming out of Heber City, UT on your way to Strawberry Reservoir. This is a fairly large campground with numerous sites. The group site parking was shallow. We could barely fit our 19 ft travel trailer and our truck. Outside of the group site it appears there are deeper sites that could accommodate a long fifth wheel. Parking space is wide enough to park another car next to trailer. There are a few tent sites as around the group site pavilion.

No hookups for RV’s. Dump station on site for $10 fee. RV spots are back in only. There is running water and flushable toilets on site; however, the water line was under repair and not turned on during our stay. It sounds like the repairs have been going on for a long time.

There is cellular service, but it’s a little slow. I have sprint carrier and had service.

Negatives: The campground is close a highway incline/decline which is frequented by Semi’s which bring lots of noise to the campground throughout the day and into the night.

Stinging Nettle: lots of stinging nettle located around group site B, so stay on the paths as much as possible.

    Tanners Flat

Good location for exploring Wasatch Mountains and Salt Lake City

You really need to know this: No dogs are allowed because this campground is in the Salt Lake City watershed.

And this: As inviting as the water running through the campground may look, you are not allowed to swim, wade or wash in it.

One more thing: Gate closes at 10 pm although that didn't stop some partiers at the next site in from us. They partied and left around 11 or so. There was no payment tag on the post. The exit is open but has tire shredders if you enter over them.

A pleasant surprise at a Forest Service campground: 10 lbs of ice for $2! (There was also the usual bundle of firewood for $6.)

An unpleasant surprise: Old, dirty bathrooms. I've seen cleaner vault toilets elsewhere than these flush toilets.

There is no water for now (July 2018) in bathroom sinks or at spigots. The host said something about a pipe issue and water needing to be tested. That covers the amenities other than dumpsters.

What about the sites? We arrived on a Sunday morning when the host was putting up signs indictating which sites were reserved. We had 3 possible sites among 1 through 19 and grabbed #9, a pull through site with a buffer between the road in the parking/small RV area.

Sites in the other area (higher numbers) were becoming available, but that area's host said many of the sites were only appropriate for tents.

Our site #9: There are a few steps down to the picnic table, fire ring and grill plus a separate area to the left for a tent. See photos.

    General site info:

    • Some sites have a concrete pad for the picnic table, etc.

    • Many sites have an area for the tent that is away from the picnic table and concealed from the road.

Guide to Lindon

RV parks near Lindon, Utah offer diverse camping experiences within 40 miles of the Wasatch Front, ranging in elevation from 4,500 to 8,000 feet. Most campgrounds in this region maintain moderate humidity levels between 20-40% during summer months, with temperatures typically 10-15 degrees cooler than Salt Lake City. Many Lindon area camping facilities require advance registration, with most sites opening for reservation 6 months prior to arrival date.

What to do

Fishing access: At Echo Island RV Resort, campers can fish in the small on-site pond. "They had a small pond for kids to fish in, two swimming pools and two hot tubs, very clean and modern facilities, well maintained campsites with fire pit," reports one visitor.

Mountain biking trails: Located within 15 miles of several mountain biking networks that connect to over 100 miles of trails. "We were also able to rent a Razor UTV on site and took a mapped out 4 hr drive through our beautiful mountains, straight out of the campground," notes a visitor at Mountain Valley RV Resort.

Riverside walking path: Follow the paved 80-mile bike trail along the Jordan River from Pony Express RV Resort. "Paved 80 mile bike trail along Jordan River. Giant chessboard. Nice pool area," mentioned one camper.

What campers like

Private bathroom facilities: Many RV parks near Lindon feature individual bathroom units. "The bathrooms are the most well maintained bathrooms we've ever used on the road. To top it all off, they have a gorgeous fitness center with weights, a treadmill and elliptical available to all guests," noted a guest at Mountain Valley RV Resort.

Dog-friendly amenities: Pet facilities vary across parks. "Big beautiful dog run area with a waterfall," reported a camper at Mountain Shadows RV Park. This contrasts with other parks that have size or breed restrictions.

RV site privacy: Space between sites varies significantly by park. At Knotty Pine RV Resort, "Sites were fairly close but not on top of each other. Utilities were conveniently located and accessible," according to one camper.

What you should know

Highway noise levels: Some RV parks experience significant road noise. "You are close to hiking and off-reading without the craziness off Mirror Lake Highway," notes a camper at Knotty Pine RV Resort, highlighting the benefit of their location.

Fire restrictions: Policies on wood fires vary widely. "Fires are not allowed in the individual sites, but the campground has three public gas fire pits. Or if you have your own gas fire pit, they will allow you to use it, but no wood burning is allowed," explains a visitor about fire policies.

Reservation requirements: Advance planning is essential, especially for summer stays. At Rollin Home RV Park, "The camp host is amazing and we arrived after hours and she responded to our phone call quickly and got us set up," showing the value of communication with staff.

Tips for camping with families

Pool facilities: Several RV parks near Lindon offer swimming options for children. "The kids love the pool and the basketball courts," shares a camper at Knotty Pine RV Resort, noting popular amenities for younger visitors.

Recreation equipment: Check if parks offer equipment lending. "They have dvds and sports equipment you can check out. Such a fun place!" explained a visitor at Echo Island RV Resort.

Playground accessibility: Facilities for children vary in quality and supervision levels. "This is a great place for kids because there's plenty of space for them to ride bikes, play basketball, swim, and also a playground," noted a reviewer at Lakeside RV Campground.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: Some parks have uneven sites requiring additional equipment. "Most sites were level, however 62 was NOT! Sites were fairly close but not on top of each other," warned a visitor at Knotty Pine RV Resort.

Water pressure variations: Many parks have high water pressure that can damage RV plumbing. "The spots are not level, and the water pressure is high. Make sure you have a water regulator," advises a camper at Gladstan Golf Course RV Park.

Late arrival protocols: Know the procedure for after-hours check-in. "We only stayed at Mountain View for one night while passing through, but we enjoyed our stay. The office staff was super friendly. Mark came out on a cart to usher us to our site," shared a visitor, highlighting the helpful staff assistance.
