    Joseph H. Stewart County Park

    Great State Park

We chose an RV hookup site for our 40' coach with tow vehicle. 30 amp power but based on forecasted cold weather they had turned off the water at the sites. Potable water was available at the dump station. Free warm showers and flush toilets. However, the bathrooms are old and appear dirty and grimy (rust stains, chipped paint, etc). Great walking and bath paths at the park and close enough to visit Crater Lake National Park. Large trees within the park though it doesn't provide much privacy with camp neighbors. In late October they had reduced the open loops but there was a good mix of tent and RV campers.

Rising River RV Resort & River House

Cute RV Park near the river

Super friendly rv management and staff- could not have been more welcoming. There are 2 dog runs, laundry, showers and bathrooms on site. Small store in the management office for sundries and rv gear. There are some full timers who live in the park but seem to be isolated in 1 part of the park.

Gravel pad, no cement. 30 & 50 amp hookups along with water, sewer, cable and WiFi. WiFi drops often and can’t be used for streaming. No troubles with ATT cellular service.

Park is next to a mobile home park that may be sketchy, but the RV park is a gated community that needs a passcode from 6 pm to 8am daily. I felt perfectly safe within the park but there is no food or shopping within walking distance. Not far drive though is a grocery mart and plentiful restaurants. Roseburg itself has everything you could need within a 10-15 min drive from the park.

I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

Note: spot 62 was close to Hwy 99 and you can here the traffic if your windows are open.

On The River Golf & RV Resort

    Great gateway to the Coast

Great location off the 5 and 42 if you're looking to get to the coast. Also right outside the city of Roseburg. They have a 6 hole 3 par golf course. The course and grounds are kept with fountains and beautiful flowers. Lots of sites with full hookups including sewer. Back in and pull through sites available. Miles of walking trails and a river for tubing or fishing off the docks. Showers and bathrooms available. Women's restroom and laundry room are under construction until October 2023. No laundry room and the park is very dark at night when other RV's aren't around, are the only reasons I didn't give 5 stars. Otherwise the owners are a delight and the full time residents are friendly. Make sure you bring cash, they don't take cards. Which wasn't a big deal, they also gave us a discount for the week. This is a nice family run park and it will definitely go on our 'save for next summer' list.

    Joseph H. Stewart County Park

    Love this reliable park

This is a large, sprawling, very peaceful and green Jackson County campground with several loops.

Loop D is no hookups (though each site has a non-threaded water spigot). Each site also has a grill, a picnic table, and a firepit. It’s so quiet and empty and peaceful during the week, and then practically fills up on the weekends. ATT had good service but the Verizon phone was roaming/ extended network. Still usable but slow and could not use the hotspot.

This campground has one of our favorite dog parks. It’s nicely mowed, thick grass, beautiful surroundings, and huge. You can also rent a boat or kayak and spend the day on the lake- so fun!

Sites without hookups are $28, and electric/water sites are $33. There is a dump station at the entrance, free for use by campers only.

    Southern Oregon RV Park

    Park with all the bells

We stay here often on our migration from PNW to the Desert for winter. It is a extremely well run park, with immaculate bathrooms and well groomed sites. Sites have concrete pad, fire pit and table with FHU. An easy off of Highway 5 and close to Costco and many restaurants. Small lake/pond with walking trail around and extra large Dog Park.

Valley of the Rogue State Park Campground

    Freeway Noise Drove me Bonkers

We stayed in the F loop for 3 nights midweek in late April and did not have a problem finding a spot. There were plenty of open spaces, and we moved after the first night to the other side of F loop in order to get away from the freeway noise. You can hear the noise from the whole campground, but the sites along the freeway are SO LOUD, and it did not slow down at night. We moved to a site that backed up to the Greenway and the noise was muffled enough and much more tolerable.

Campground is broken into several loops, and some are closed to camping at this time. Tent campers can stay in hookup sites but will still pay the full fee. Tent/ non-hookup loop is closed at this time. When we stayed here in April 2021 the only loops open were B, C, and F. Walkup sites are available that day after 10:30 or 11am if not already reserved. Can stay in those sites one night at a time. If you are staying multiple days and want to be sure you don’t lose your spot to an online reserver then you need to pay the $8 reservation fee and book it online, or make friends with a ranger and see if they will block off the spot for you online so nobody else reserves it. The rangers make so many rounds through this park! We have never seen the fee box checked so often, nor so many different rangers driving through the loop multiple times a day.

The campground is right on the Greenway bike trail, a beautiful trail along the river that goes through nearby towns. We weren’t able to find a path to actually go down to the water though, other than the boat ramp at the campground entrance.

We heard from several people that the clientele at this campground can pose problems, and while we did see a few campers who look like they might be long term-ers (vehicles that looked like they had seen better days, settled in with lots of stuff, loud music), the majority of people we saw looked like your average friendly quiet happy camper.

Free warm showers and flush toilets (open at this time). In the women’s shower in F loop, the first stall closest to the door seemed to get the warmest, though it never really got hot.

Each site has a picnic table and metal fire ring, and there is firewood available for sale. There are also horseshoe pits (but no horseshoes) and 2 (yes, two) disc golf stations. We paid $28/night for a site with water and electric.

There is a dump station and potable water on the way out. There are trash dumpsters here but no recycling bins. Good cell service.

    Indian Mary Park

    Beautiful fall colors in October

I chose this park to see the foliage in October and was not disappointed (see my photos).  Other than that, it is not an outstanding park.  I had no Verizon coverage in the park and was woken up by the noise of leaf blower in the morning.  The RV sites are very close to each other, without any trees/hedges to separate them.  I liked that the park is in a somewhat secluded area though.

FYI, the site says there are no 30-amp hookups, but my site (site 90) had both 50-amp and 30-amp.  The 30-amp worked just fine.

    Hi-Way Haven RV Park

    Great experience!

Great RV park! All sites are pull through, fenced off leash dog area, several other on leash dog areas, playground, nice little store, ice, propane on site, and most importantly the movies on the old drive-in screen Thursday through Saturday nights during the summer! I cannot comment on the showers as I used my own and not theirs. 30 and 50 amp sites. Nice packed gravel sites with paved patio areas and wood fence dividers between sites. Each site has bistro style table and chairs (2). I really enjoyed!! Oh and if you choose to sit in the nice grassy area (plastic Adirondack chairs provided) for the movie they serve free popcorn 🍿 If you can see screen from your site the sound on FM station. Good wineries close too!!

    Holiday RV Park

    Great Stop!

My family and I stopped here for an overnight stay. We got in around midnight when no staff was on, but they made sure to have a welcome package for us with a direct map to our spot (super helpful). The site is easy to maneuver with all pull through spots to avoid how tricky it is to back up a big rig! There’s also a beautiful little river that runs through the property making the spot a beautiful place to stop. Would definitely stay again!
