Best RV Parks & Resorts near Whitehouse, OH

Several RV parks surround Whitehouse, Ohio, providing diverse options for motorhome travelers. White Oak Campground in Whitehouse offers year-round RV sites with electric hookups and picnic tables, though it lacks sewer connections and dump stations. Just 5 miles away, Big Sandy Campground in Swanton features big-rig friendly sites with full hookups including 50-amp service, operating from April through October. Bluegrass Campground, also in Swanton, accommodates large RVs with full hookup sites including water, electric, and sewer connections. For travelers seeking concrete pads, Harbortown RV Resort in Monroe, Michigan provides spacious sites about 30 minutes from Whitehouse. "Our site was easy to level. We were in a full hook-up with a gravel pull-through," noted one RV camper about the Toledo East-Stony Ridge KOA, another nearby option.

Most RV parks in the region are pet-friendly and offer reliable cell service coverage. Dump stations are available at most locations except White Oak Campground, where RVers need to plan for alternative dumping options. The Blue Heron Ohio Turnpike RV Lot in Genoa serves as a convenient overnight stop for travelers on the Ohio Turnpike with full hookups and pull-through sites. While summer brings higher occupancy rates, spring and fall offer more availability at most campgrounds. Many parks sell firewood on-site, and propane refill services can be found at select locations like the Toledo East-Stony Ridge KOA. Reservations are recommended for weekend stays, especially during peak summer months when RV camping near Lake Erie becomes particularly popular.

    Toledo East-Stony Ridge KOA

    Small basic campground near Toledo

Our site was $59.95 a night.

We were in Site# 504. We had Full hook- up with a gravel pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep. The site was easy to level. We were charged $25 additional for my jeep since we were towing the trailer. We also were charged $10 because we arrived at 1:25 PM and check-in is at 2 PM. The park was close to empty so arriving early was not an inconvenience. We drove ourselves to our spot (no escort).

Our site was shaded with lots of trees. This was a smaller lot with our neighbors fairly close.

The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring. They sell wood for $6 a bundle.

There is free WiFi, although not strong. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels.

There is not a community outdoor kitchen or community fire pit.

They pickup your garbage at your site daily before noon.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They do not provide golf cart rentals. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground.

They do have a Swimming pool but it is currently closed due to maintenance (although it just looked closed- no signs of maintenance being done).

There is a Playground. They also offer horseshoes, corn hole, giant jinga.

They have a basic general store. There are not scheduled activities for kids.

There is not a snack bar/restaurant on site.

The streets are gravel so not great for riding bikes. This is an RV park with tent camping and cabins to rent.

They have one shower house. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean.

There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility, but they have a change machine. There are approximately 4 washers and 4 dryers. It is approximately $2.50 to wash and $2.50 to dry a load.

They have a small fenced in dog park.

There isn’t tons to doin the actual city of Perryville. But Toledo is a 20 minute drive.

    Travel Trailers

This park will accommodate any size travel trailer? Fifth wheel camper of any kind, the pull throughs are huge. The park is enormous with lots of fishing activities. Great water, the only downfall is there's no shade. Showers and restrooms are updated and always clean.

    Blue Water Campground

    Our stay at bluewater

The staff is extremely friendly, and try to accomadate with anything you could need. The campesites are fairly large with gravel pads. They offer water and electric hook-up for 30&50 amps. There is not a sewer hook up but they do offer a weekly pump out for a small fee and a dump station on the way out. The pool, ponds, playground and pavillion are all within walking distance from almost any site.

Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground

Just a visit to check it out

The pool looked to be the spot for the kids of all ages on this hot 4th of July. A well manicured campground, and while looking a bit narrow, it seemed some pull thrus for big rigs were adequate, with concrete pads and picnic tables. But all the driveways and pull thrus were gravel. Lots of seasonal trailers, and some large ones! No junk, and golf carts are restricted to electric.

    Perfect quiet place

Great campground. Pull through and back ins. Tent camping, four cabins. 50,30,20 full hookups. Electric, and water Full wooded area with older trees, small but has all modern enmities.
WiFi Cable Small store stocked with all the essentials that you need for your stay. Bath house updated and modern. Mini golf area, children’s playground, large jenga, and other outdoor games.
K9 area plus, little poop areas, with bags available. Pool (was closed when we were there) nice pool.
Close to stores and perfect area with gas stations that fit large vehicles. Many areas to visit and explore.
Camping for a vacation or traveling through. Full hookups are 56.00 (as of July 2021) could change, that’s up to KOA. Pull in, relax. They will even help with pulling in and hooking up.
Refill propane tanks at campground. Deliver wood right to site.

    Ted Ranch Campground

No thrills, largely rustic, family oriented, friendly

This campground is pretty rustic with water and electricity at some sites, no showers or restrooms, a dump station for one at a time, Porta potties scattered around, small beach, small boat launch, mostly appears to be seasonal sites without sewer or rustic sites. Some but not a lot of shade, rolling fields being made into smaller sized sites. Dogs and dogs pens are allowed, and they do not appear to have parents who are attentive or keep them from barking. Friendly staff and family of four owners.

Crystal Rock Campground - Sandusky, OH

    Clean & cute

This campground was family friendly, dog friendly, and very clean. About 30 minutes from cedar point. Our only complaint and the reason we’re docking a star is because our site was right next to a giant generator that seems to run 24/7 and sites seemed a little tight. Otherwise we enjoyed this campground very much.

    Great spot!

Wonderful views from site 117. We booked the last spot of the night. It was an easy pull through with water, electric, and sewer hookup. You are right across from some good walking trails and walking distance to the beach. Lots of electric scooters, dogs, and bikes around.

Guide to Whitehouse

Campgrounds near Whitehouse, Ohio provide access to the Oak Openings region, a unique ecosystem where sandy soil creates distinct plant communities. Most camping areas sit at elevations between 600-700 feet in this glacially formed landscape. The region experiences humid continental climate with summer temperatures averaging 70-85°F, making late spring through early fall the most comfortable camping season.

What to do

Hiking trails: White Oak Campground connects directly to the 15.5-mile Scout Trail loop in Oak Openings. "Overall, this is a gem hiding within plain sight. The sites are inexpensive and come with free firewood, the restroom is cleaned regularly and maintained well, and it is relatively peaceful overall," notes a camper at White Oak Campground.

Beach activities: Take a short drive to Lake Erie beaches from your campsite. "Marblehead lighthouse is also beautiful for photos. My daughter has been asking to go back since we left," mentions a visitor at Cedarlane RV Resort.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple campgrounds offer on-site fishing. "They have two ponds, one for fishing and one for swimming. The swimming one has a dock kids jump off but it only goes to about 3.5-4 feet deep at the deepest point," explains a visitor at Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Campground cleanliness ranks high in visitor satisfaction. "Very clean facilities (bathroom, wash station, pavilion), extra fire wood available to purchase (we had 2 bundles waiting for us at our campsite), and trash station as well," reports a guest at White Oak Campground.

Fishing amenities: On-site fishing ponds provide recreation without leaving the campground. "A well manicured campground, and while looking a bit narrow, it seemed some pull thrus for big rigs were adequate, with concrete pads and picnic tables," notes a visitor at Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground.

Swimming options: Many campgrounds offer swimming areas. "The pools and bathrooms were clean. The water pressure in the shower house was lacking but I've realized that seems to be at every campground we've stayed at," shares a visitor at Cedarlane RV Resort.

What you should know

Airport proximity: Some campgrounds experience occasional airport noise. "We did hear and see one plane in the morning but we were already up eating breakfast so it didn't bother us, the kids were excited to see it," explains a camper at White Oak Campground.

Site types vary significantly: Research site specifics before booking. "Sites are large for the weekend campers. The seasonal ones all have back in and the weekends are pull through which is kinda nice," notes a visitor at Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground.

Reservation requirements: Most campgrounds require advance booking. "DOWNSIDE: MUST RESERVE ONLINE BEFORE 4PM. There is no walk-up service, and online site goes down after employees go home at night," warns a camper at White Oak Campground.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Look for campgrounds with dedicated children's amenities. "This campground has everything! Go carts, playground, disc golf, pool, ext... Just a one night stay to visit A friend. If you have kids it is perfect!" recommends a visitor at Harbortown RV Resort.

Educational opportunities: Oak Openings offers nature programs. "Brought the kids and had a blast! We loved the hiking, bike trails, playground at Mallard lake area, and the kids liked exploring the sand dune area," shares a visitor at White Oak Campground.

Swimming considerations: Check water depth for younger children. "My daughter had fun doing the gem mining and playing in the pool and splash pad. They have a small convenience store on site that's reasonably priced. They have an adults only pool as well for those looking for a break from all the kids," notes a visitor at Cedarlane RV Resort.
