      River Trail Crossing

      Nice little campground

River Trail Crossing is privately owned, small campground (which we like) but nice and quiet. Sites include tents, small rigs and large pull through sites for big rigs. Sites located on the river are water and electric. Sites off the river have 50 amp and 30 amp. State route 95 runs to the right of the campsite so if you reserve any sites on the river (right side) you will have some traffic noise from the bridge. We reserved spot 32, farthest site to the right on the river. We loved it. The river was only about knee to hip deep. Most family’s floated with tubes and saw some kayaks. Not much for fishing at this particular section of the river. There is a paved bike/walking trail behind the campground - B&O trail. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. They do have 2 dumpsites available. We really enjoyed this campground, owners were very friendly and offer firewood and propane if needed. Mohican state park is only 10-15 minutes away which is really nice for hiking and fishing as well. We will be back!

      Gotta Getaway RV Park

      Ok

This was an overnight stay on our way to Pennsylvania. It would be a bonus for big rigs as the pull Throughs are flat and easy to get into. We tend to prefer a back in because it usually gives us a bit more protection on the backside. Unfortunately, the site we were assigned took three blocks to level up, the the power was on the wrong side and our picnic table was in the back area of another camper. The bathroom was nice and close and handy. Some great effort has been made to make it attractive with two-tone tile but that is all overshadowed by the amount of spiders and bugs. I am a full-time RV year and shower all over the United States and this was one of the buggiest ever. The majority of this campground is for seasonals. There are some very nice seasonal lots with a small pond in their back Yard. The owner was very friendly and helpful on the phone. Serves a variety of needs.

      Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point

      Immaculate!

Absolutely beautiful RV park! Gorgeous views of Lake Erie and walking distance to the gate of Cedar Point. Beautiful landscaping and very clean. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Good little camp store with reasonable(ish) prices. Too chilly to swim but the pool looks nice. Bathhouses are updated, clean and very nice, but pretty far from about half of the sites. One section has premium sites with upgraded grills and fire pits and crazy good lake views. The regular sites are still well landscaped and each have a grill and an extra long picnic table, but no fire pit. You can bring your own fire pit if your site doesn't have one. No bikes or golf carts allowed on the grounds, but there are Cedar Point buses available day & night as well as rickshaws during the day. Until now I have held Disney World's Fort Wilderness as the penultimate place for camping but they could learn a few things from Cedar Point! We stayed five nights in a pull through sites, #231. I would love to snag a premium site for our next trip but it may be difficult because they allow you to book up five years in advance!

      Timber Ridge Campgrounds

      Great Experience

We stayed at Timber Ridge for a month and found this to be a very nice campground. Stores are very level, full hookups, fishing pond, amazing indoor swimming pool. Staff was extremely nice. Many if the campers are long term but have several overnight doors as well.

We stayed in a 29ft Travel Trailer, but sites could handle the largest of rigs.

      Mohican State Park Campground

      Winter Time But No Snow

We stayed on a full hook up site (turned off for the season) that had a nice concrete level pad. There was also a nice side pad that kept our chairs clean. A little further back in the campground to be close to the shower house that was open. Then found out that comfort station next to us was open - nice! Also close the water which was full and rushing all weekend.

The camp store was open on the weekend and the staff was nice to chat with. They had wood, but it was slab cut which doesn’t burn very well. We decided against it. Lots of snacks and other items still available.

Some sites were really close to the water, almost too close as the water flooded a few spots. The campground is nice to walk if you like to get in a little workout. They also have small camper cabins and them much bigger cabins which a few are pet friendly.

We went on a hike by the covered bridge to one of the waterfalls. Lots of trials to choose from.

      East harbor state park

Very clean. Close to everything you need close to ferry clean showers camp monitors were friendly sites are paved. 50/30 amp hookups Our site was just a standard electric site. They do have 150 full hook up sites or more. We made our reservations late we were not really concerned about water or sewer as we planned to use the camp ground facilities anyway. Fresh water is available to fill your holding tanks. Dump stations are easily acceptable as are water filling stations Big Boopers restaurant is a great place for breakfast lunch or dinner. If you do t feel like cooking it’s about a 10 min drive. Campground has very good WiFi. We have Verizon had very good reception inland and I. The islands. Bass island is a fun day trip. Sites were level left to right. Had a slight pitch front to back.

    Guide to Greenwich

Campgrounds near Greenwich, Ohio offer options beyond standard RV hookups, with seasonal variations affecting access and amenities. The region sits at approximately 1,100 feet elevation, with camping season typically running May through October due to Ohio's humid continental climate. Winter camping remains limited to specialized year-round facilities like Evergreen Park RV Resort.

    What to do

Fishing at local ponds: Kokosing River Campground offers a small lake popular with families. "Beautiful lake, nice and quiet. Lots of waterfowl," notes reviewer Shelly S. The pond is well-stocked and suitable for catch-and-release fishing.

Biking on paved trails: River Trail Crossing provides direct access to the B&O bike trail. "Bike trail access right from the campground. Golf nearby, Amish shops, canoeing. Great area to visit," reports reviewer Bob M. The paved path extends several miles for walking or cycling.

Water recreation: Many families bring tubes and kayaks to wade in the shallow waters near campgrounds. "The river was only about knee to hip deep. Most families floated with tubes and saw some kayaks," explains Brian E. about River Trail Crossing. Swimming options vary by location, with some parks offering pools for guests.

    What campers like

Peaceful waterfront sites: Fort Firelands RV Park features sites along a lagoon near Lake Erie. "We had the best lot in the place! We were on the end (which is always a plus for us), and were able to see Lake Erie!" writes Lisa K. These premium spots fill quickly during peak season.

Clean facilities: Whispering Hills Jellystone RV Park maintains well-kept grounds and bathhouses. "Great activities including mini golf, pool, jumping pad and frisbee golf. Cabins and RV spots available and the staff is friendly, grounds are clean and nicely kept," reports Kayla S. The park remains open mid-April through October.

Winter camping options: Unlike most seasonal campgrounds, Evergreen Park RV Resort operates year-round with heated facilities. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. There were only 3 other campers there. The game room was nice as well as the indoor pool," shares Andrea F. The indoor pool allows swimming regardless of weather conditions.

    What you should know

Site layout and privacy: Many RV parks near Greenwich feature sites positioned close together. "Sites are good size in length, but pretty close to your neighbor. Enough space to sit, but not much room," observes Tracey S. about Sandusky Milan RV Park. At some locations, seasonal campers occupy premium spots.

Wildlife considerations: Some waterfront campsites attract geese and waterfowl. "There was a large flock of geese that stayed near the lagoon which meant goose poop around our site. It was also very buggy in the evenings," warns Renee L. at Fort Firelands RV Park. Bug spray is recommended, especially during summer months.

Shower facilities vary: Bathroom and shower quality differs significantly between parks. "Bathrooms were disgusting and I couldn't use them. Chose to hold off on shower till I got home," reports John A. about one facility, while others maintain spotless bathrooms with private shower stalls.

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly fishing spots: Kokosing River Campground provides calm waters for young anglers. "Peaceful and great for kids. Kayaking on the lake is great. Camp staff very friendly and helpful," shares Mark B. The lake supports various watercraft without strong currents.

Splash pads and pools: Some campgrounds feature water play areas specifically designed for children. "My daughter had fun doing the gem mining and playing in the pool and splash pad," writes Ashley R. about Cedarlane RV Resort. These amenities typically operate during daytime hours in summer months.

Off-season benefits: Visiting immediately after holiday weekends often means fewer crowds. "We stayed at Evergreen a few days following Memorial Day weekend, so the holiday crowd was gone," reports Beth G. Weekday stays typically offer more space and availability than weekends.

    Tips from RVers

Electrical hookup adapters: Several RV parks near Greenwich, Ohio provide only 50-amp service. "They have connectors you can use for a $25 deposit and then get your money back when you return the cord," explains Renee L. about Fort Firelands RV Park. Bringing your own adapter saves this deposit fee.

Level sites for big rigs: Sunset Springs RV Resort accommodates larger motorhomes with pull-through options. "New pull through are perfect for our 40 foot motorhome," notes Dave K. The resort operates from May 1 to October 15 with full hookup availability.

Payment policies: Some smaller RV parks accept limited payment methods. "They accept check and cash, no credit cards," mentions Renee L. about Fort Firelands. Carrying alternative payment options helps avoid unexpected complications during check-in.
