Camping options near North Boston, New York include both established campgrounds and primitive sites across public lands. Sprague Brook Park provides tent and RV camping with some electric hookup sites, while East Otto State Forest offers free primitive camping with designated sites for self-sufficient campers. HTR Niagara Campground and Colden Lakes Resort feature cabin accommodations alongside traditional camping areas, with the latter providing access to small lakes approximately 25 miles southeast of Buffalo.

Road access varies significantly between developed and primitive camping areas. East Otto State Forest has relatively limited infrastructure, with visitors noting the importance of proper preparation. Many campgrounds in the region operate seasonally, typically from May through October, though some like Sprague Brook Park may offer year-round options with winter recreational activities. Campground reservations are recommended, especially for holiday weekends and summer periods when facilities reach capacity. A visitor to East Otto State Forest described the experience as "secluded feeling" but noted that "maybe non-rainy season is better for this site, my boots became very muddy."

Campers consistently rate the natural settings and water features as highlights of the region's camping experience. Several established campgrounds maintain fishing ponds or small lakes that enhance the outdoor experience without requiring backcountry travel. Quaker Area — Allegany State Park State Park

    So many memories…

We returned to the same campsite for 10 years while our kids were growing up. They loved all of the hikes, they loved all other places, from thunder rocks to bear caves trail.

You can go to this camp at any point in time, after Labor Day you can even get firewood delivered to your door. The box wood stoves inside to keep things thirsty, warm, even on a snowy day.

    Willow Bay Recreation Area

    Beautiful campground

Went the week of April 23 2024 and had the place just about to my self. Was peaceful and quiet. Both camp hosts were super nice and friendly folks I'd definitely recommend Willow bay to anyone. No cell service with AT&T or Verizon.

    Nice quiet campground

The manager is super nice and helpful, the showers and laundry room clean & bright. The lots are nicely shaded with big trees & at night I cud smell grapes from the local vineyards, a nice surprise :) Across the road is a little park right up against Lake Erie with picnic tables & lots of shade!

    Lake Erie State Park Campground

A very nice park and campground

The facilities are old and outdated like most state parks but it's all clean. The staff is friendly and helpful and the camp sites are a decent size. The views of the lake aren't great but you can find it.

    Cain hollow campground

    Come in Autumn!

Absolutely beautiful camping loop. There are many others but Cain Hollow is completely open and on the side of a hill so beautiful views of the changing colors. Also good for Starlink users. Clean bathrooms. Beautiful paved greenway. Easy and hard trails available. Restaurant, general stores, laundry, bike rentals… this park is awesome. Absolutely zero Verizon service though. Heads up!

    Niagara County Camping Resort

    Niagra County Camping Resort

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

    Westfield-Lake Erie KOA

    Overnighter

We only stayed for an overnighter on a long trip west. The restrooms and showers are some of the best we’ve seen during our trip. Very well maintained facilities and grounds and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were able to change our site for one that was more level without a problem. The only thing that might bother some people is the road noise. However we were able to sleep well despite it. There is also a dog “park”/fenced area.
