Best RV Parks & Resorts near Blanco, NM

RV parks near Blanco provide a range of accommodations for motorhome travelers. Moore's RV Park & Campground offers full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, while Ruins Road RV Park features big-rig friendly spaces with 50-amp service. "We had an end space with no shade and no grass; however, we have a nice view of the trees along the Animas River and are a short distance from the river," noted one camper about Ruins Road. The Little Park maintains five RV-only sites with 30-amp hookups and sewer connections, though pets are not permitted. Bluffview RV Park (formerly Mom and Pop RV Park) in nearby Farmington accommodates both large and small rigs with level sites and complete hookups.

Several parks in the region operate year-round, though amenities vary significantly between locations. Dump stations are available at Moore's RV Park and Ruins Road, while cell service strength differs throughout the area—Angel Peak dispersed camping reports strong 5G T-Mobile signals, but Cottonwood Campground at Navajo Lake State Park has zero Verizon coverage. Most RV parks accept pets with some restrictions, and picnic tables are standard at many sites. Access roads to some parks may present challenges, particularly after rain. Gravel interior roads are common, with varying degrees of maintenance. Reservations are recommended during summer months and fall when the Durango-Silverton train attracts tourists to the region. Many parks offer pull-through sites that accommodate larger rigs without unhitching.

    Oasis RV Resort and Cottages

Nice site layout; Enjoyable stay! - THIS IS NOT KOA! NOW CALLED OASIS RV

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly staff; shuffled our stay around so we could extend and not relocate during the week.

WIFI/ CELL SERVICE: Camp wifi and speed seemed to work really well! I could use email and stream videos with no delay; however we used a hot spot for work calls to be more clear, but their wifi probably could have been fine to do so. 2 of 4 bars AT&T but calls came in fine throughout the entire park.

SITE: Pretty campground layout. Love the"S" curved pull thru sites. We had an"S" shaped site with nice privacy and ease of arriving and leaving because of design. The sites all seemed to be nicely spaced from one another and private even though you are nearby. There were some views and there were a few pretty fall trees and a vacant pasture to look at while sitting at the picnic table. A small creek flows along the edge of site 23. Full hookup; level site; heated water so didn't have to worry about pipes freezing during stay; fire pit; grill; full sun site; rock roads but well maintained and not too dusty; light road noise. I'm sure the sites closer to the highway are louder near the campground entrance; no bugs in October that we experienced.

OTHER: Nearby Walmart and shopping center. About 20 min drive from Historic Downtown; about 5 minutes from Anytime Fitness gym. Laundry room was small and they didn't clean our clothes very well, but it was kept clean.

    La Plata County Fairgrounds

    Bare minimums but good location

This is a small area at the fairgrounds that has space for 6 RVs. All of the sites are back in with 30 amp power and a shared water connection. There are no sewer connections but there are several dump stations in town. There are no showers or restrooms. The sites are gravel and pretty level. Our Verizon and AT&T hotspots both worked well and cell service was good. There is what looks like a maintenance area behind the campground so there was traffic back and forth most of the day that kicked up some dust. It was also a bit noisy. The Durango to Silverton train runs right next to the fairgrounds and that can be a bit noisy too. The Animas River trail is within walking distance. There is also a town trolley service that will take you into the main part of town. The weekends can have events going on which could make it a bit tight to get in and out with your RV. Overall, this was an ok place for a few days but it is certainly nothing fancy. It was very affordable though.

    Alpen Rose RV Park

Nice park, but not fond of the "big rig sites" A-B

Very nice campground overall and staff is very nice as well. Its only aboht 15 minutes from the Durango train, which was awesome, and has nice ammenities, though the cafe and pool are closed now (oct). Its a pretty expensive park...big rigs are regularly 79.00 and they did discount it 8.00 per night for off season, but all the big rig sites line up along the entrance/exit and people are arriving as late as 8pm which is really obnoxious when your eating dinner listening to rig after rig and car after car. Also, not all big rig sites are created equal. All are buddy sites, so you can face a friend, and all but ours (A-B) have a nice grass area...we have gravel and are closer to "our buddy" who we dont happen to know...the picnic tables are basically next to each other. We would come back, but would take a back in next time so we arent so close to the entrance.

    Ruins Road RV Park

    Quiet

We are traveling with a young, very timid dog so asked for a large space. She gave us an end space with no shade and no grass; however, we have a nice view of the trees along the Animas River and are a short distance from the river. Lots of long term RVs, but their spaces are well maintained. Good gravel throughout the RV Park, nice level spaces. They take cash or check only. No tables, fire rings, restrooms/showers, but full hookups. Easy access, and we had no issues with road noise.

    Oasis RV Resort and Cottages

    Excellent amenities and staff

Incredibly friendly staff, great store with camping necessities and fun swag. Dog park was large enough with a shaded tree and benches. Pickle ball, movie night, pool, playground ect included. Almost every space was filled but it was quiet because the activities are spread nicely away from where we were. Pull through sites with enough room. Good price for the location.

    Junction Creek Campground

    Great Sites Near Town

Junction Creek, CO 6/24: Great location and remarkably large sites.

(71 yr olds in 17’ trailer.)

Overall Rating: 5 Price 2024: $ 29 w interagency pass for electric site. Security: No, however the host is along entry road. Usage during visit: Pretty full on the weekend. Site Privacy: Nice. Sites on outside of loop are better.
Site Spacing: GREAT , well spaced sites.

Outside Road Noise: No Through Traffic in campground: No Electric Hookup: Some sites. Sewer Hookup: No Dump Station: No Potable Water Available: Yes, near restrooms. Bathroom: Very well maintained pit toilets Showers: No Pull Throughs: Some sites. Cell Service (AT&T): No Setting: Ponderosa Pine Forest with oak shrub understory. San Juan McGee Park RV Camping

Great for RV stopovers but that's it

We were trying to find something before the sun went down and stopped here, but ended up moving on as they didn't have tent sites that we were interested in and we wanted a bit more seclusion. I was able to grab some info though. This campground is sort of between building of the fairgrounds.

About the park: This is a large RV park along the San Juan River between Farmington and Bloomfield. There are over 100 dry camping sites. 574 RV spaces with electric and water hookups. The sites don't have tables or fires pits. Each of these sites is 21’ by 41’. There is a dump station on site.  There are a lot of sites on the river.

    Security patrols the area frequently.

Lots of activities happening at the fair and close to town.

Showers and restrooms are by fair buildings so they are a little walk away from the sites, hence the "prefect for RV's".

    Lake Farmington

    Inexpensive, exposed, basic

I needed a place to stop for a night that was pet friendly. Called ahead to reserve. Person I spoke to was very courteous and answered all my questions. Fairly close to town with a good variety of stores and restaurants. We arrived at 6 pm to high winds and rain, so no opportunity to walk/hike during our brief visit. The campsite has few trees and other flora. Our site overlooks what looks like a human-made lake where boating is permitted. Toilets aren't pretty but are functional -- one of each (male/female) for 21 sites. Site required a $5 fee plus $1/person usage fee.
