Campgrounds near Republic, Missouri provide a mix of recreational experiences with over a dozen established facilities within a 30-mile radius. Springfield Route 66 KOA, located just west of Springfield, and B Berry Farms & Co. represent the range of options available, from full-service commercial campgrounds to more rustic farm settings. Seasonal patterns significantly influence camping conditions in the Republic area, with many campgrounds remaining open year-round but experiencing peak visitation during summer months. Most established campgrounds maintain accessible roads suitable for passenger vehicles, though sites at locations like Busiek State Forest may require more careful navigation. Water levels at nearby lakes, including Table Rock Lake, can affect shoreline camping and swimming areas, particularly after heavy rainfall periods. Campgrounds with water-based recreation often implement seasonal changes to facilities based on lake conditions and visitor numbers. One camper noted, "Check the weather before securing a waterfront site. Lake levels are displayed on the Table Rock website and you will want to make sure you are not visiting when lakes are overflowing to the point of cutting down your adventure."

The camping experience near Republic varies considerably depending on proximity to water bodies and urban amenities. Table Rock State Park Campground receives consistently positive reviews for its combination of natural setting and access to recreational opportunities. Several developed campgrounds in the area feature shower facilities, boat ramps, and hiking trails, making them suitable for extended family vacations. Areas closer to Branson offer convenient access to entertainment options while maintaining natural settings. Campgrounds farther from urban centers typically provide more seclusion but may have fewer amenities. A review of Table Rock State Park mentioned, "Beautiful location. Lots to do at the campground like hiking, biking, and kayaking... Only about 15 minutes from downtown Branson Missouri so great location to do some tourist stuff as well."

    Rustic Trails RV Park

Clean, hot shower but little else

One shower and one bathroom working at the back of the campground. There's more up at the house but I didn't use those facilities. I was less than impressed with this campground. Especially for the price. It looks as though most campers actually live there and they got the shaded spots with plenty of trees. I was directed towards the back which is all gravel and not much else. Good for a quick stay over but there's nicer places close by for half the price.

    Table Rock State Park Campground

    Great spot!

We had the perfect little spot for our tent camping weekend. It is a campground so you do have neighbors but the sites were spread out and didn’t feel cramped. There was ample room for our tent, the fire ring, our hammock set up and the picnic table. Restrooms were the cleanest i’ve ever seen. I will definitely be back!

    B Berry Farms & Co.

    Peaceful sleeping

Driving through Missouri needed a quiet place to stay. We stayed at Honey Berry Hideout, it has metal fire ring and grill. The owners were very friendly , informed us amenities , they have coffee pot , small stove to use in a barn in walking distance, bathrooms and showers for small fees. Family friendly with large area for kids to play.

    Pine Hollow 1045 Dispersed Camping

    Beautiful remote primitive campsite

Excellent little campsite great for a couple tents at most we camped using a rooftop tent and it was a great spot. Very quite very clean unlike some other sites in the area. There is a second site just down the little pull off but it’s not level so would be a last resort. Don’t recommend bringing anything to large down the road camper van would be fine but would be difficult with a full size rig or towing anything much larger than a pop up. Enjoy!!

    Branson Lakeside RV Park

    Nice campground close to everything

This is a nice campground. Our site was a concrete pad that was perfectly level. The park is kept very clean, nice bathrooms, and helpful staff. They allowed us to check-in 3 hours early, and we were extremely grateful. Branson Landing is only 5 min away.

    Great location for Table Rock

Nice and clean. Close to water slide and Silver Dollar City. The sites are small and difficult to back in though.

What to do

ATV riding trails: Cobb Ridge offers nearly 80 miles of interconnected trails for off-road vehicles ranging from beginner to advanced difficulty. "The trails are also maintained. I would not recommend hiking on these trails as ATVs and Bikes go fast on the trails and unless a hiker can hear the off roader coming they may get hurt," advises one reviewer.

Water activities: Visitors to Hootentown Canoe Rental & Campground can enjoy convenient river access with multiple put-in options. "River is excellent floating. Great campground along river bank. 3 spots to putin upstream quick easy shuttle by float service business with lots of canoes an kayaks to rent," notes a camper.

Blackberry picking: B Berry Farms & Co. offers a unique opportunity to harvest fresh berries right next to your campsite. "We enjoyed picking black berries right next to our campsite to have with breakfast in the morning," shares one visitor who enjoyed this distinctive agricultural experience.

Hiking: The area offers varied hiking terrain, particularly at Busiek State Forest where natural landscapes provide scenic trails. "Busiek isn't too far off the beaten path. It has several trails and camping sites. There is plenty of wildlife available for viewing," mentions a regular visitor to the area.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Springfield - Route 66 KOA receives consistent praise for well-maintained grounds. "This KOA is clean with wonderful parks and a nice pool. It was a great place to stay while driving to our destination," explains one camper who appreciated the tidy environment.

Quiet settings: Several camping spots maintain peaceful environments despite their proximity to urban areas. "Coming in from I-57, we followed the signs for Lamberts and J.T. RV Park on the left side of the road. We selected and parked in site 25 with FHUs. There is no fire pit, picnic table, cable, or WiFi," reports a camper at Lambert's Cafe RV Park.

Hospitable service: The personal touch from campground owners makes a significant difference. At B Berry Farms, "Hosts were awesome! We had a later checkin and they had the campfire with plenty of wood going on our arrival. They also had a small tiki torch burning and a s'mores starter package!"

Proximity to attractions: Many campsites provide convenient access to regional landmarks. "Only about 15 minutes from downtown Branson Missouri so great location to do some tourist stuff as well," mentions a camper discussing the strategic location for exploring the region.

What you should know

Seasonal water levels: Heavy rainfall can significantly impact recreational opportunities. A camper noted, "Be wary of the water level, this can impact any hiking you might be looking to do, so be ready."

Train noise: Several campgrounds near Republic have nearby train tracks. At Cooks RV Motor Park, a camper reported, "It's convenient to I40, just a few minutes away, and quiet at night," though other nearby campgrounds do mention occasional train disturbances.

Permit requirements: Some public lands require advance planning. "Camping is by permit only, and permits cannot be obtained online or by phone, you have to go in person to the Missouri department of conservation office," explains a local resident about Busiek.

Crowding concerns: During peak times, popular sites fill quickly. "This campground was FULL all weekend! The staff was great! The mini donuts they delivered to your site in the morning hit the spot!" notes a visitor to Springfield Route 66 KOA.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Timbercrest Park provides an "affordable" option "right on edge of town," making it convenient for families who want easy access to urban amenities while maintaining a camping experience.

Safety considerations: When camping with children near water, take extra precautions. "The exit to get out is a hill with gravel so again not having 4WD that was a little tricky, the visibility is also not great because of curves so you just have to hope people aren't going too fast," warns a camper at Hootentown.

Weather preparation: Missouri's variable weather requires planning. "Check the weather before securing a waterfront site. Lake levels are displayed on websites and you will want to make sure you are not visiting when lakes are overflowing."

Insect management: Wooded areas can have significant insect activity. "Absolutely beautiful hiking trails and amazing off grid camping for family. Just make sure to bring the bug spray and tikis bc there are tons of bugs," advises a Busiek visitor.

Tips from RVers

Leveling challenges: Some sites require extra effort for larger vehicles. "Lots of cats hanging around. And a train every couple hours but we did enjoy it. Good 4 over knight. We got the glamping tent," notes a visitor at Springfield Route 66 KOA.

Hookup availability: For those needing full amenities, Ozark Highlands Mobile Home & RV Park offers comprehensive services. "Check in was easy. It is right near a few shopping centers but in the back of a trailer park and very quiet. They had good internet access for free," shares a satisfied RVer.

Site selection tips: When traveling in larger rigs, research site dimensions. "The drawback for us is that the one site suitable for large RVs is not very level. We have a 40' Renegade Verona and it took 6 tries to find a place near the hookups where our auto-level would find a good position."

Access considerations: Road conditions vary significantly between sites. "After reading a couple of reviews on this new campground, we called about availability and got someone at Lambert's Cafe who was not much help," indicating that calling ahead for the most current information is essential.
