Road conditions and seasonal considerations affect camping experiences throughout the area. Many campgrounds remain open year-round, including Peculiar Park Place and some private RV facilities, while others like Blue Springs Lake Campground operate seasonally from May through September. "The staff was super friendly, as well as other campers nearby. We chose a spot near (but not too near) the restroom on an outside loop," noted one visitor about Blue Springs Lake Campground. Cell service is generally reliable across the region, with multiple reviewers mentioning strong coverage at various sites. Most campgrounds feature level sites suitable for larger RVs, though some county parks have more limited accommodations for big rigs.

Privacy between sites varies considerably across the region, with some reviewers noting close quarters at certain RV parks while others mention well-spaced sites at county facilities. Noise considerations include proximity to highways at some locations, though many reviewers indicate the campgrounds themselves remain relatively quiet, especially on weekdays when occupancy tends to be lower.

So review is based on just a quick overnight stop

Site was not level (gravel Pull through) so required leveling

Overall it was easy to quick pull in and sleep for night

Pool looked clean as we passed on our way out

We did not use bathrooms or showers

Lots of full time or sesasonal campers

      Knob Noster State Park Campground

      Peaceful but a little sketchy

Beautiful place, decent privacy, first night was great then multiple questionable people took primitive camping sites around us that were tent/car living and made us very leary of leaving our site. Was quiet until they came in, then lots of "short term visitor" traffic every 15 minutes through the night.

Great Escape RV Park & Campground

      Overnight Stay

We stayed at this campground for 1 night while we were heading to Nevada, the campground was nice and quite. We pulled in later in the afternoon so we did not have any opportunity to check out the amenities.

    What campers like

Convenient location: Campsites near Harrisonville provide strategic positioning for regional travel. "Great park just south of Kansas City. Very quiet, great owners and staff," reports a camper at Peculiar Park Place who appreciated the easy access to metropolitan areas.

Clean facilities: Lake Paradise Resort maintains renovated amenities that receive positive feedback. "The pool is renovated and very nice. It is very large, zero entry, up to mostly around 5 ft deep with a small area that was 9ft; there is a children's area with a sprinkler," observed a July visitor.

    What you should know

Cell service variability: Mobile connectivity differs between locations. At Campus RV Park, a camper reported excellent connectivity: "With wifi access point right here. 66m down, 24m up. It was so good (and the park is full) I did not bother testing my mobile plans."

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Terrain variations affect setup requirements. At Lake Jacomo - Fleming Park, a camper with a 39-foot diesel pusher noted, "had to use lots of wood to level everything up, including extending one of our jacks to the maximum and causing it to throw an error message," indicating preparation for uneven grounds is necessary.

Hookup placement: Utility connections vary in accessibility between campgrounds. At Kansas City East-Oak Grove KOA, a visitor observed, "our hookups were literally in the next site next to their table, and their fire ring was very close to our trailer," suggesting careful site selection for optimal spacing.

Propane services: Some locations offer on-site gas refilling. A Peculiar Park Place visitor highlighted, "Accepts cash or check for payments, propane sold on site. Short drive from Flying J and grocery store," noting the convenience for extended stays requiring fuel replenishment.
