Winter recreation: Lake Michigan Campground at Muskegon State Park remains open year-round and offers winter activities. "Across the road is the Winter complex, sledding, skating, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and luge course. Our kids had a blast here, they have tons of bonfire pits as well," writes Melissa M. The park also offers summer water activities with "stairs over the hill or you can walk down to the main beach entrance."

Clean facilities: White River RV Park & Campground receives consistent praise for cleanliness. "This campground is the CLEANEST one I have EVER seen. We went into what appears to be pit toilets, but they were flush toilets with TILE floors! They have Multiple 'dog poo' bag stations with bags and disposal sites," shares Shelly B., who adds that the "bath houses were the best I have ever seen!"
Sunset views: South Channel Campground provides views of the channel from Muskegon Lake to Lake Michigan. "Can watch boats go through channel from campsite, loved watching the lake express," says Sara G. Another camper, Ruben S., noted: "My wife and I took the car out with a tent and some fishing poles. Hookup options: Limited full-hookup sites exist in the area. At Chinook Camping, Clint mentioned they have "very narrow roads that were very difficult to maneuver a large trailer. Lots were smaller and hard to back into. And no full hook up sites."
