From the rolling hills of Lancaster County, Chickies Rock, the sculpted rock visible at the bottom of Conewago Falls, the White Cliffs of Conoy, and the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail there is no shortage of adventure.

A family-run, working small farm, built in the 1800s, we are dedicated to improving the land, soil, plants, and wildlife, through Regenerative Agriculture with all-natural, chemical, hormone, anti-biotic, and GMO-free methods. We raise and breed Rare Heritage Livestock in a conservation program to keep these genetic lines alive and diverse. Several of our breeds are listed on the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. The property is a modest 20 acre homestead located in Damascus, MD with 12 acres of woodland and a creek! Camping here also allows you access to the farm with friendly chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, cows, horses, sheep, goats, giant rabbits, cats, and dogs! If you enjoy farming, gardening, pastures, trees, creeks, natural springs, cabins or just hiding out in the woods; there's a great chance you will enjoy camping at our place. Pitch your tent anywhere in the woods or in a field or stay in the cabin equipped with a wood stove. We have trails wide enough to drive down so parking and set up is easy. Both campsites and RV sites are self contained. No electric or water hook ups and no restrooms yet (coming soon); so bring a composting unit if you wish.

The Garden

Mother Earth Organic Farm is the epitome of getting away. Camp with your tent, RV, schoolie, truck camper, or hammock tent on this marvelous organic farm with scenic pasture and mountain views. Bring your telescope or add ours as an extra. The night sky view is amazing! The Milky way is visible on clear nights. You may see farm animals including goats, chickens and cows during your stay. In addition, Mother Earth Organic Farm has a plethora of wildlife including hummingbirds, bald eagles, white egrets, turtles, bears, and foxes. There are walking trails on the farm and a 1/3 acre pond.

The Appalachian Trail (AT) is about a mile down the road (access point with ample parking). There are many parks nearby including Gambrill State Park, Cunningham Falls State Park (longest cascading waterfall in Maryland), Greenbrier State Park, and many others.

Our farm has 30 private acres of open fields, rolling terrain, wooded areas, and a running stream for wading and exploring. We are a scenic and easy 10 min drive from I-70 New Market, MD. Hang out with family and friends at your private campsite or enjoy music and libations at one of the many local wineries/breweries- most have weekend music festivals and food trucks during spring, summer, and fall months. Located in walking distance(1 mile) to Linganore Winery and Red Shedman Brewery, we are centrally located to eight other wineries and breweries that are an easy ten minute drive through scenic Frederick County farmland. Hiking more your thing? The Appalachian Trail is a mere 30 min drive and the historic C&O Canal(great for biking, jogging, hiking, and horseback riding) is a 30 min drive as well. Kayaking, tubing, rafting, and horseback riding are available in historic Harper's Ferry(35 mins) too. While there, you can check out the local shops, the C&O canal, hiking trails, and a self-guided tour of John Brown's Raid. There are plenty of local creameries(working dairy farms selling homemade ice cream, cheeses, and more) and farmer's markets for fresh farm to table fruits, veggies, and meats. Fine dining, history, and quaint antique stores more your thing? We've got you there too! Historic Mount Airy(10 mins) has lots of specialty shops and some farm to table restaurants, New Market(10 mins) has a plethora of quaint antiques stores, and Frederick(20 mins) has lots and lots of speciality shops and farm to table restaurants. ## Overview

Owens Creek Campground offers families and individuals enjoyable primitive tent camping. Located just five miles from Thurmont, Maryland, in the rolling hills of Catoctin Mountain Park. 

## Recreation

As a primitive camping area, Owens Creek encourages visitors to use healthy doses of imagination while surrounded by the natural landscape. Nature hikes and campfire circles are popular activities. The Deerfield Nature Trail connects directly to the campground and is a 1.5 mile loop with a connection to the park's western system of trails. Browns Farm Trail is nearby in the Owens Creek Picnic Area and offers budding archeologists with a peek into the history of the area. This trail is also a youth friendly 'Track Trail'. ## Facilities

This campground contains 50 single campsites with a limit of five people, or immediate family, per site. There are no-hookups. Maximum 22' trailer length and RVs up to 30'. There are three pull through sites, #12, #39 and #43.   
  
Flush toilets, showers and drinking water are available and centrally located in the campground. All sites are equipped with a tent pad, picnic tables, and fire ring. All tents must fit on the tent pads. Firewood is available.

The campground is surrounded by a rolling landscape, perfect for hikes of any level from easy to extremely strenuous. Owens Creek flows past the campground providing a peaceful setting beside a bubbling brook. Whether blanketed in snow in winter months, brilliant with color in the fall or blooming with wildflowers in the spring, Owens Creek offers beautiful scenery all year.

Evensong Farm is a beautiful piece of preserved history and nature nestled in the hills that border Antietam National Battlefield. Come share in our appreciation of open space, rolling hills, flowing water, and shady forests. We have carefully selected campsites on our farm that will give you both privacy and sweeping views. 

Both of our expansive Tentrr sites are set up with one queen bed with memory foam mattress in the main platform tent, a private "Latrine" building that has a composting toilet and outdoor sun-bag shower, multiple seating areas, a fire pit, a kitchen and picnic area, a kitchen wash area with a foot operated sink. We provide all of our campers with drinking water, wash water, and a bundle of firewood per night. In the colder months we have a space heater available for the platform tent (although there is an additional charge for propane). You will have use of an additional Coleman tent if more tent space is needed. This site can accommodate up to three additional tents if you want to have a gathering with up to 12 people camping together. The first 4 campers are included in our per night fee, a fee will be added for each additional camper.

To make camping a bit more luxurious, and to lighten the amount of things you have to bring with you, we offer extras like bedding, a kitchen kit, a portable power station, and more. 

Wineberry is a Coleman Outfitted Site and has some great extras for you to use during your stay. These extras include- Coleman Grill, table, chairs, lanterns, and more!  Note- We do NOT have the Coleman cups available. If you wish to use the large, "8 person" Coleman tent, it will be provided on request. Set up and take down of this tent can be done by us for an extra fee.

Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. 

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). Well-mannered dogs are welcome and should be leashed at all times.... 

Remember that you will be in nature and it is full of great and interesting living things-furry, crawly and slithery. Along with deer, wild turkey, opossum, herons, and the occasional bald eagle you might also encounter gnats, ticks, spiders, snakes, etc.... 

Feel free to pick up dead-fall branches and twigs to use in your fire ring. Please do not attempt to remove any standing wood, both for your safety and the health of the forest....

Leave the fire rings where we have placed them and never start a fire within the cedar tree forest. We will alert campers if fire restrictions are put in place by the local authorities....

No smoking in the tents. If you smoke outside, extinguish all butts and take them with you....

CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling 
-Bedding and pillows

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. 

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). Other Things to Note:
Well-mannered dogs are welcome and should be leashed at all times.... 

Remember that you will be in nature and it is full of great and interesting living things-furry, crawly and slithery. Along with deer, wild turkey, opossum, herons, and the occasional bald eagle you might also encounter gnats, ticks, spiders, snakes, etc....

Feel free to pick up dead-fall branches and twigs to use in your fire ring. Please do not attempt to remove any standing wood, both for your safety and the health of the forest....

Leave the fire rings where we have placed them and never start a fire within the cedar tree forest. We will alert campers if fire restrictions are put in place by the local authorities....

No smoking in the tents. If you smoke outside, extinguish all butts and take them with you....
