TravelerThis was a campground that had RV spots, cabins and tent spots. Our tent spot was tucked back in a quiet place, close walk from our tent to plumbed toilets and a further walk to the bathhouse with showers. We used this campground to explore the surrounding area and Bishop Castle. Staff was very friendly and they had a lot things to do for the kids in the camp store/facility.
GuideSuch a beautiful place makes it up for the norrow/bumpy 8 miles road to get there. The creek sound off the noise of the busy road since I camped close to the road with my 21’TT It wasn’t level enough so I dont think I will be back but I loved it, I spend 10 days and I have no complaints with temp of 65-45 it was womderful taking off the crazy storm with having hailing one night. So sad people laugh so much trash behind even broken glasses.
ScoutThis is a fun spot to camp. Theres no good logs around for firewood but good twigs for kindle. Theres a cool tunnel to drive through too. Will definitely come back.
TravelerThis is a basic lot on the river with room for several vehicles. There isn't much level ground, but if you're able to park close to the river and parallel to it, you'll be ok. There was evidence that someone recently did some clay pigeon shooting here but there wasn't much activity when I was there. A local stopped in to warn me about some heavy machinery being moved down the road that night and another camper showed up a couple hours after I got there. Friendly guy, solo camping in his truck. I definitely agree with others, this isn't suitable for large rigs.
Very quiet night (The heavy machinery went through about 9pm), and I was treated to an amazing sunset as a bonus.

GuideLove Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Camp here at least a few times a year with our TT. Full hookups are wonderful. Sites are clean and bathrooms are fine. Paid showers at campgrounds. A little playground. Beautiful and well groomed hiking trails. Can get a little hot in the summers.
