Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort

    Amazing RV Resort Near Beach

A nicely appointed RV resort in downtown Oceanside with an awesome staff. Pull-through and back-in, full hookup spots available. Cable, wi-fi, a clubhouse with TV and PlayStation for the kids, pool table, games to check out, and a small swimming pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor community areas with ping-pong, bean-bag toss, grills, and other activities.

The resort is only a 5- minute walk to the beach and not far from Oceanside restaurants and shops. While it’s a tad spendy, you really do get a lot for your money with a great near beach location.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

The region experiences mild Mediterranean climate with average summer temperatures ranging 70-85°F and winter lows rarely below 45°F. Most campgrounds in the Tustin area remain open year-round with higher occupancy rates during summer months and school holidays.

What to do

Beach activities at Huntington Beach: Sunset Vista RV Campground provides direct beach access with fire pits for evening activities. "We had beach front views, everything was clean and other rv'ers were friendly," notes a camper at Sunset Vista. The campground operates seasonally from October through May.

Biking opportunities: Golden Shore RV Resort connects to extensive bike paths along the coastline. "Great biking, walking lanes. Pool & jacuzzi are nice," according to a recent visitor at Golden Shore RV Resort. The park offers secure bicycle storage and rental information for nearby options.

Fishing for families: Rancho Jurupa RV Park provides fishing access in their small lake. A visitor commented, "Lots of families with children, fishing for catfish in the little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake." The park requires fishing licenses for adults over 16.

Water park access: Canyon RV Park offers splash pad access during summer months. A visitor shared, "Great family campground. Fishing and a splash water park. This place has two campgrounds. Cottonwood and Lakeside. Cottonwood is the nicest of the two."

What campers like

Citrus picking opportunities: Orangeland RV Park offers a unique amenity with orange trees throughout the property. "Super friendly staff, super clean, 2 dog parks, offers really good wifi & cable. Can pick the oranges out of the tree," reports one camper. The oranges are typically available year-round with peak ripeness in winter.

Security features: Many parks prioritize guest safety with various security measures. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Ranger is on constant patrol," notes a visitor at Rancho Jurupa RV Park. Most parks implement nightly security patrols and gated access.

Transportation access: Several campgrounds offer transit connections to major attractions. According to one Orangeland RV Park visitor, "Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops here to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk." Public transportation typically costs $6 per person for all-day access.

Clean facilities: Canyon RV Park maintains high cleanliness standards according to visitors. "Campground is well-organized, with cabins, RV spots, a youth area, tent spots and a ropes course. A pool, flushable toilets and hot showers are available to all campers for free," states one review. Most parks provide shower facilities with limited hours.

What you should know

Site spacing considerations: RV parks in this urban area often feature close quarters. "It's a very clean park, office is friendly as well as the outside workers. The pool is clean and laundry is always spotless," notes a visitor at Golden Shore RV Resort, though many parks feature limited spacing between sites.

Seasonal limitations: Some parks operate on restricted schedules. "This opens back up in October due to the high traffic of summer visitors. No hook ups. Fire allowed in the pits provided," explains a visitor about Sunset Vista RV Park. Advance reservations are essential during peak periods.

Noise considerations: Urban settings create ambient noise at some locations. One Canyon RV Park visitor noted, "The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible." Ear plugs are recommended for light sleepers.

Military access requirements: Certain RV parks have restricted access. A Seabreeze At Seal Beach visitor cautioned, "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security." Military ID verification occurs at entry gates.

Tips for camping with families

Youth activities: Many parks offer designated recreation for children. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," shared a visitor about Newport Dunes RV Resort. Activities typically require separate registration.

Group camping options: Some parks accommodate youth groups. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties," noted one visitor about Rancho Jurupa RV Park, indicating different experiences for group versus family sites.

Safety considerations: Parks maintain varying security levels. One Orangeland visitor mentioned, "Security at night. Dog runs (kinda stinky, though). Rules are there to keep things nice and safe." Most parks enforce quiet hours from 10pm to 7am.

Tent camping limitations: Limited tent options exist among predominantly RV-focused parks. "We tent camped here for one night before meeting friends at their timeshare for a Disneyland vacation. There are only two tent sites (T1 and T3), the rest are for RVs," explained a visitor about Anaheim Harbor RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Specialized parking requirements: Anaheim Harbor RV Park has specific vehicle rules. "Their site measurements are for your camping unit ONLY. If you have a tow vehicle or are towing a vehicle you must pay per night for a parking spot, whether it fits on the site or not," warns one RVer. Additional vehicle parking fees range $10-15 per night.

Seasonal rate fluctuations: Prices vary significantly by season at most parks. "Great park. It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful. Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up," noted one Canyon RV Park visitor during an off-peak stay.

Hookup variations: Different sites offer varying utility connections. A Waterfront RV Park visitor explained, "They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups." Always confirm specific hookup availability when booking.

Size restrictions: Length limits apply at most RV parks near Tustin. "Very spacious and good for big rigs. Reservations online not too bad, only thing is it will says electricity only but I have had water hookup at all of my spots," explains one Rancho Jurupa visitor, highlighting the importance of confirming actual site dimensions.
