Best RV Parks & Resorts near Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA

RV camping options within driving distance of Palos Verdes Peninsula include several oceanfront and urban facilities. Golden Shore RV Resort in Long Beach provides full hookups with clean facilities and security features, while Dockweiler Beach RV Park offers beachfront sites with electric, water, and sewer connections. Newport Dunes RV Resort accommodates 372 RV sites with fifty-amp hookups and is suitable for big rigs. Orangeland RV Park in Orange features concrete pads with full hookups, and Huntington Beach RV Campground operates seasonally from October through May with sewer connections and fire rings. "RV Park very close to downtown Long Beach. Nice restroom and laundry facilities. Pool and hot tub are clean."

Most RV parks in the area require reservations, particularly during summer and holiday weekends. Beach-adjacent parks like Dockweiler tend to book quickly due to limited motorhome parking in coastal Los Angeles. Proximity to LAX brings aircraft noise at certain locations, with several reviews noting the frequent overhead planes. RV sites typically range from parking lot-style arrangements with tight spacing to more spacious premium spots at higher price points. Many parks enforce strict cancellation policies with limited refund options. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Newport Dunes and Golden Shore provide more comprehensive amenities including laundry facilities, swimming pools, and on-site markets. Cell reception is generally strong throughout the region, with multiple visitors reporting reliable connectivity even at beachfront locations.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Thornhill Broome Beach — Point Mugu State Park

    Beach camping on PCH!

Spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. Campground has trash, porta-potties, and appeared to have potable spigots but didn't confirm. Verizon service was hit or miss, but with a booster it was usable. Nice fire rings and picnic tables. Only downside was highway noise, but the surf drowned out all but big-rigs. Saw dolphins and seals back to back days! We're so glad we went, and if we pass by again we will be staying for sure!

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    O'Neill Regional Park

Great Tucked Away Spot in Orange County

    SITE:

This site is great if you like hiking, biking, MTB, and running. It is very clean, and the showers are free and clean as well. It's tucked back in the canyon, but you will still hear all the traffic from the road. Since it is a canyon, many loud cars and motorcycles zoom past at high speeds.

    Free dump station.

    SURROUNDING AREA

There aren't too many shops in close proximity, but there are shops down the road a few minutes away if you need supplies.

    ACTIVITIES

The campground is located next to Oneil Park, which is huge and great for bike and running. There are many hiking trails nearby in all directions. I usually ride to Caspers from the campsite or Trabruco creak up to Holy Jim.

    Tapo Canyon Park

Clean and quiet, except for the birds

This is a very nice campground near everything but still away from it all. No issues parking our 42' 5th wheel here. Clean and quiet despite the peacocks. They can be rather loud when startled. I swear they could hear my morning alarm and squawked their disapproval. The camp host Shawn is AMAZING! Bathrooms are very clean. Showers are coin operated. DO NOT expect cell service. I could only work from this spot by placing my mobile HomeFi router on top of the camper. Our Verizon phones were paper weights. Make sure your reservations are complete online before arriving. The Rangers check the spots multiple times a week. The kids enjoyed the playground and fields. It's not uncommon to see and hear movie/TV production crews at the filming locations along the road. Pet friendly but be careful at night. Mountain lions were spotted while there.

Guide to Palos Verdes Peninsula

RV camping options near Palos Verdes Peninsula include both seasonal and year-round facilities within 30-50 miles. The coastal location provides mild temperatures throughout the year, though summer fog can impact morning visibility at beachfront locations. Winter camping offers smaller crowds but requires advance planning for some locations that operate with reduced capacity.

What to do

Beach access and water activities: Malibu Beach RV Park provides direct access to the Pacific from elevated positions. "Every spot has a great view of the Pacific Ocean from high upon a cliff! General store is well stocked and there's a park to lounge or play games on the cliffs edge!" reports Tim Z.

Biking along coastal paths: Several campgrounds connect to extensive bike paths along the coast. At Dockweiler Beach RV Park, campers appreciate the proximity to cycling infrastructure. "You can step out of your RV and be right on the beach in minutes, for long walks, biking, sunbathing etc... being able to walk out and do my morning yoga on a freshly raked beach was heaven!" notes one visitor.

Theme park access: For Disneyland visitors, camping provides cost-effective lodging with transportation options. Anaheim Harbor RV Park offers convenient access. "We called to ask a question and they mentioned our total $740.61. We asked how we added $240 when the website stated $500," warns one visitor about hidden fees.

What campers like

Security features: Many parks provide gated entry and after-hours monitoring. At Hollywood RV Park, visitors note the safety despite urban location. "Safe, friendly, clean. Well suited for long-term needs. Beautiful murals throughout park. Laundry, showers/restroom, personal mailbox, amazing staff!" reports Buneva J.

Waterfront views: Several rv sites near Palos Verdes Peninsula, California offer direct ocean views. "I have been on a 3 month trip and stayed at 22 different campgrounds. Malibu Beach RV Resort has the best views for the price, hands down," shares Michael M.

What you should know

Aircraft noise: Due to proximity to LAX, several campgrounds experience overhead flights. "You will hear each and every of the planes taking off from LAX, but at one point you don't hear them anymore. It was not really annoying, but that flight at 5a was..." notes an Ignasi M. at Dockweiler Beach.

Seasonal availability: Some beachfront RV parks operate limited schedules. At Huntington Beach RV Campground, "This opens back up in October due to the high traffic of summer visitors... Basically a parking lot on the beach that you can stay and enjoy beachfront," explains a reviewer.

Additional fees: Many parks charge beyond the base rate. At Waterfront RV Park, one visitor cautions: "Located in Huntington Beach California. This site is right across the street from the beach. Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping."

Tips for camping with families

Pool and recreation options: Several parks offer family-friendly amenities. At Orangeland RV Park, families appreciate the "covered play area, helpful staff, heated pool as well as a hot tub. The grounds are very well kept and grocery stores within 10 min."

Beach activities: Families with children often prefer campgrounds with protected swimming areas. At Newport Dunes RV Resort, "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach."

Space considerations: Tent campers have limited options. Jessica R. shares about Anaheim Harbor: "I tent camped here for one night before meeting friends at their timeshare for a Disneyland vacation. There are only two tent sites (T1 and T3), the rest are for RVs. The price was super affordable at only $40 per night."

Tips from RVers

Site dimensions: Most parks have specific length restrictions. At Malibu Beach RV Park, "beware the tent sites do NOT have electrical hookups. You also have to park and carry your things to your campsite. Luckily, they have wheelbarrows to make that easier," advises Kate.

Hookup specifications: RVers recommend checking utility connections before booking. At Orangeland RV Park, visitors appreciate the "Super friendly staff, super clean, 2 dog parks, offers really good wifi & cable. Can pick the oranges out of the tree."

Military options: Service members have exclusive access to Seabreeze At Seal Beach, where "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security."
