Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Atmore, AL

Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve welcomes pets at its spacious campsites near Atmore, Alabama. This established campground provides full hookups for RVs along with tent camping options, all in a natural setting along Big Escambia Creek. Each pet-friendly site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with clean restrooms and shower facilities available throughout the property. Dogs must remain leashed when outside vehicles or tents. The campground features multiple small lakes for fishing and a river for swimming and tubing activities that pets can enjoy from designated shoreline areas. Sites are well-maintained with gravel pads that are fairly level, though some campers note the need for more trees between sites to create better privacy. The campground's playground area can create elevated noise levels that might affect pets sensitive to sounds.

Bluff Springs Campground offers additional pet-friendly accommodations including cabin options approximately 20 miles from Atmore. The 500-acre property provides secluded camping with natural water features where leashed pets can explore. Nearby Lake Stone Campground allows pets at its waterfront sites with electric and water hookups, giving dogs access to shoreline areas for supervised water play. Most campgrounds in the area enforce standard pet policies including waste cleanup requirements and barking control during quiet hours. Some campers report the presence of wildlife and recommend keeping pets secured, especially during evening hours. The area experiences high humidity and mosquito activity during warmer months, requiring preparation for pets who may be sensitive to insects. Peaceful Camping in the Woods provides an alternative with more secluded tent and RV sites that allow pets, though without electric hookups for those seeking a more primitive experience.

    Pensacola RV Park

    Very clean park!

We enjoyed the appreciation that the parks shows to the military. And the park is great for pets, because it has multiple dog parks. Beautiful Oak trees surround the property. The staff was very helpful when arriving to help with parking.

    Pelican Palms RV Park

    Easy spot off the highway.

This camp ground is growing so there was quite a bit of construction debris around, but looking past that. This spot is literally right off Hwy 10 at exit 26 making it convenient for travelers. I would not recommend this campsite for true "camping". On ground fires are not allowed and there are no trails or walking areas. There is a small dog park but it is not really a "park". The Pool looked nice, but was closed. Nice shower house with great shower pressure. Probably 50/50 on folks living there and those just stopping through. I stayed 3 nights during the week, it was very quiet. The price is great for the location close to beaches, rivers and city. Not the prettiest camp ground, but if you just want to park your rig while you hit the beach, good choice.

    Deer Creek RV Park

Highly Recommend and will stay here again

We stayed at Deer Creek RV Park after returning from Florida headed back out west and this place is awesome. It is very conveniently located off I-65 and the park is very well kept, bathhouses are immaculate and very large. Has a dog park which our dog loved being off leash and owners are very nice, informative and can also recommend great restaurants around. They also have two other RV sites close to Gulf Shores and OWA in Foley. Highly recommend!

    Enjoyed Our Stay

We stayed for the weekend. First thoughts were that it felt a bit cramped. We had an issue with the electrical that we couldn’t figure out, but one of the campground workers was very nice and tried to help us figure out the issue. We loved walking to the waterfront. My son enjoyed the basketball court. My kids loved the pool. It was quiet at night. The dog park consists of two fenced in areas which was nice because my dog gets bored quickly of the same area, so I alternated between the two. Overall it was a decent stay. The basic pull throughs do not have a fire pit, which sucked because it was chilly at night. The store was nice, as well. There is an entrance and an exit on opposite ends of the park - the exit is a bit tight and my husband was nervous to pull the camper that way. We noticed several people going out the entrance because it’s easier, just a heads up.

    Ahoy RV Resort

Nice clean park with friendly staff

This is a nice RV Park with lots of ammenties, like shuffleboard, pickleball, basketball, social room, pool with cool slide and a dog park. Its pretty close to the highway, so you get road noise, but its not bad. The drive in is about 1/4 mile of dirt road, but the park is paved with decent sized gravel sites, patios, picnic table and firepit and there is a "lake" in the middle of the park. The park is surrounded by tall pine trees, which is really nice. It was pretty expensive, and is 15 miles from the beach (66 for one night including discount), so not sure that we'd be back, but their weekly and monthly fees arent so bad. Overall a very nice park.

    Ahoy RV Resort

    Fun time!

We had a great time at Ahoy RV Resort! We rode bikes around the campground and outside of the campground on the surrounding dirt roads. They have volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, and tetherball. If you don’t have a volleyball or basketball, they have some equipment at the store that appears like you can borrow or rent. The kids had fun at the pool. Our neighbors were great! The staff was great. We didn’t do much in terms of “community” activities but they did have some evening stuff going on. There was a beautiful fog that came early morning. All around good time. Would return again. Also, there’s a fun little dog park!

    LOVE THIS PLACE!

Sure it’s out in the middle of no where but that’s exactly what we were looking for. We stayed at site 35 on the river & it fit our 70 ft long big rig. The camp host are extremely nice and hospitable! The laundry is currently free! The bugs weren’t to bad. Hot tip- walk over past the dam to the “softball field” and it makes the perfect dog park. We were able to get perfect internet with our Starlink

    Milton-Gulf Pines KOA

    Nice KOA Near Beaches

Nice campground, gravel site with small pad with picnic table and fire ring. FHU, and plenty of activities and amenities for our granddaughter. Playground, mini golf, large outdoor Connect Four game. Nice dog park, camp store and pool, but too cold to swim. Didn’t use facilities, but looked clean. Tents and cabins in backside of the park. I would reserve there if possible some interstate noise upfront. Staff friendly and took us to our site. Love the bike trails nearby.

What campers like

Large, level sites: Lake Stone Campground provides waterfront sites with electric and water hookups. We ended up needing to park more cars than the park rules stated but the manager was very accommodating."

Natural water features: Mystic Springs Recreation Area offers primitive sites along the Escambia River. "I camped for 4 nights at site 7 next to the river. Beautiful and quiet," reports Kathleen A. Sites feature covered structures that protect tents from rain. Sam S. explains, "The cover is amazing - you can put your tent, car or camper under it to stay dry."
