Weeping Rock Campground is a popular spot for fishermen, campers and picnickers and offers fishing and boat access to the Green River. It has 10 campsites with picnic tables, barbecue grills, and a vault toilet. Trout and kokanee salmon live in this area of the Green River, and since the area is restricted to motorboats, the fishing is always good. This site is located near historic resources. Please do not collect or damage resources.

Famous for its brilliant Caribbean-aqua blue waters, Bear Lake Utah camping is an otherworldly oasis nestled between the Utah and Idaho border. Vast and extensive soft sand beaches attract visitors from all over the world, who come to fish, boat, camp, and recreate in the outdoors. Aside from lake itself, off-roading and exploring the mountain trails are another popular activity. There’s a number rental locations nearby which can lend out their OHV (Off-Highway-Vehicles) to traverse the area’s various geographic oddities for a reasonable rate. Speaking of the geography, Bear Lake State park is extremely organized and easy to navigate. In fact, there are three districts of the park meant for different types of recreation. First is the State Marina, located on the west side of Bear Lake. North end of Garden City, one mile north of the US 89 and SR 30 Junction. Second, is Rendezvous Beach, on the southwest curve of Bear Lake. Roughly 2 miles NW from Laketown on SR-30 from the CIsco Road and SR 30 Junction. And finally, The Park’s Eastside Areas- Eastside of Bear Lake, including First Point, South Eden, Cisco Beach, Rainbow Cove, and North Eden. Distances vary from four miles to 13 miles on Cisco Road from Laketown and the Cisco Road SR 30 Intersection.

    Van camper overnight stay

Stayed at site #5 on Sept 16, 2024. Paid $42.90. Made reservation over the phone. Normally don't camp in RV parks with our camper van, but it was getting late and needed an overnight place to stay with very few options available in the area. The stay was okay; probbaly won't stay here again. Sites were close together. The campground has water and electric hookups; worked just fine. No reastroom/shower house; told that these amaneities are planned. Campground is a typical RV park with sites close to each other with no privacy. It is in a large flat open field. Some young trees were planted. Campground road and site driveways were gravel. I believe all of the sites are back-in. A few long term residents appear to be staying there in their big rigs. One of these residents, who was close behind us, woke us up at 4:20am when he started up his loud pickup truck and let it run for several minutes before departing (IMO, not good campground etiquette). Other than that, no complaints. Being a van camper, I'm nuetral about this campground. It satisfied my immediate needs at the time (simple overnight stay).

    Tent camping

The site overseer Tony was helpful, and professional. The grounds maintained. The bathrooms well stocked, clean and offer good hot water pressure for showers. The tent site is large, grass and away from the RV sites. Definitely a spot we will stay again. Note the site offices close at 7pm. We had no reservations so you must arrive before 7pm. Our visit late late September 2024

    Sun Outdoors Garden City Utah

Has potential but past its prime ?

We have been coming here for over 25 years. It was a membership campground until about 5 years ago when Sun Outdoors took over. While there have been some improvements, it has been sorely lacking in maintenance. In addition, management doesn’t appear to have much motivation to enforce rules that made this a beautiful and enjoyable place to stay.

    Great staying at the lake

Just stayed for a night but in a sight directly at the lake. We were able to go to the lake easily and swim a little bit. Due to being late in the season it was not crowded at all.

    All alone and loved it

Yes, there were mosquitoes, cows, and a bit of green water, but it was very peaceful and beautiful. Whenever the options are a crowded and powered RV campsite versus a peaceful boondock such as this, we opt for the latter. Hope you enjoy it.

    Nice peaceful campground

Small gem along the Green River. Open habitat with cottonwoods and willows. Great birds! And access to river for fishing. Some mosquitos in the evening but not bad. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stopover here.

    Lovely stay.

I had a lovely stay. The grass was nice and green. The WiFi was strong. Easy pull in pull out. The owner and employees were lovely. I did not use any facilities. But I would highly recommend!!!

I wanted dark quiet and remote!

And I got it at fossil butte. At north end of park is a 17% grade loose gravel narrow road with two hairpins - good luck! But northern end of park boundary is well marked. Dark dark sky and unbelievably quiet.

    Hidden Gem

This campground has lovely views of the reservoir and was a respite from a long day on the road. As others said it’s a bit dated, treeless and windy. Quiet and peaceful.

Great lake side camping! Beautiful views!

Great campsites next to the lake. Excellent views and quiet. Only saw a couple other campers off in the distance. Lots of birds and ducks to watch.

Saw a moose way off in the distance.

    Spacious and peaceful!

I wandered in after dark and the dirt road was easy to navigate. No one was around for miles which was quite nice! A few people drove past (I assume to go hunting) but not much traffic noise. Peaceful along the water. Clean bathrooms. Because of the regulations I wasn’t able to make a fire and had to stay overnight at the designated camp spot but I would definitely recommend this spot.

Nice place for one night stay

This is far enough away from interstate so you dont hear traffic, but you can still be back on the interstate within 5 mins. But trains are close by and will be heard.

Appears long term campers are at front of campground. Everyone around us were also doing 1 night stay, so everything was quit after sunset.

Finding the sewer hookup took some time, but finally found it. Need a water pressure regulator and when you check in they mention that.

Nice large trash bins which are along the path out of the campground and in the center of the campground. Dog area was clean and had plenty of grass.

Showers were good, but need some maintenance/adjustment but it works for a quick shower.

    First come, first camp

Don't overlook the turn off 101, unless you're aiming for a rancher's yard!

Opting for the established pull-off was a great decision, offering pit toilets and a mere 10-foot distance from the lake. A perfect backdrop for relaxation and recreation. However, the Wyoming wind made its presence felt, proving to be the only downside to an otherwise delightful stay.

This lakeside spot is a gem for nature enthusiasts, with its easy access and scenic charm. Just ensure you don't miss that essential turn off 101. While the wind might test your patience, the overall experience makes it a trip worth embarking on.

    OK Camp ground

Just arrived at the camp site, not to big, the sites have shadow from trees (not all). Restrooms are not really clean, water of the pool seems to be a bit dirty. Next to paid activities there are some stuff kids can do for free.

    Grew up camping here

I grew up camping here and it’s one of my favorites. I swear there used to be garbages but now there are bear boxes which is great. Some the camp spots are over grown because they don’t get used much.

Not a place to tent camp

I've camped 3 times in the last three years at this campground and it has gotten progressively worse since my first visit in 2021.  My last stay in early August 2023 was the worst.  I had to spend 5 minutes cleaning up dog poop out of my assigned site before I could carefully pitch my tent in a cleared area.  The bathrooms were dirty and the WiFi didn't work at my site.  The "benefit" of being close to I-80 is outweighed by the constant noise of traffic from both the interstate and a service road which runs right past the tent sites.

Staying at this location while working on a local project. It’s a great long-term stay option. The owner has kept the grounds in great condition even during cold winter months.
