Highline Trail RV Park maintains spacious pet-friendly campsites near Boulder with picnic tables and firepits. This established campground allows pets at all 47 sites, offering full hookups for RVs up to 50-amp service. Tent campers and RV owners can bring their dogs to Wind River View Campground approximately 2 miles north along Highway 191, where pets are welcome at their clean facilities with plenty of space. Both campgrounds provide shower facilities and drinking water, essential amenities when camping with dogs. Boulder Lake Campground permits pets but offers more primitive accommodations with no hookups, making it suitable for tent campers and smaller RVs seeking a natural setting. The sites have ample room between them, making it easier to maintain space between pets at neighboring campsites. Extremely helpful owners at Wind River View assist travelers with unexpected needs, even helping one visitor obtain a replacement battery when stranded.

Dogs have access to several nearby trails leading into the Bridger Wilderness from Boulder Lake Campground, where pet owners should carry bear spray when hiking with their animals. Soda Lake Wildlife Habitat Management Area permits pets at its free dispersed camping area, open from early May through mid-November. Kelly Park Forest Service Road #747 offers additional dispersed camping options where pets are allowed around fire rings, though these primitive sites lack facilities like drinking water or toilets. South Boulder Lake Camp Site features just a single BLM camp site at Boulder Lake Dam with a table and fire ring, though reviewers note the narrow, rough access road makes it unsuitable for larger RVs with pets. Most campgrounds enforce standard leash requirements, and campers should be prepared with waste bags as dedicated pet waste stations are limited in these more remote locations. The spacious sites at Highline Trail provide ample room for pets to remain within their designated camping areas.

      Wind River View Campground

      Wind River View RV park

Dirt only with weeds. Road noise and dogs barking. No dog park or playground for kids.

      Boulder Lake

Peaceful sites between the lake and two trails

Gravel access road from the Boukder Wyoming area. Limited number of established sites in the formal campgound loop. Other folks camp near the Boulder Creek trailhead.

Pit toilets, gravel parking, trail map displays. Picnic tables and fire rings. Suited for tents and smaller RVs. Bigger RVs camp near the trailhead parking area.

The two trails up Boukder Creek and to Blueberry Lake go up into the Bridger Wilderness. Bring bear spray and fishing rods.

      Boulder Lake

      This is not a campground

Whomever set this location was wrong! There is no access to the west end of the amazing Fremont Lake, and thusly, no campground. The previous reviewer is describing Boulder Lake nearby.

      Fremont Lake

MIxture of semi raw to basic conviences

THE MID campground at Fremont Lake,  just outside of Pinedale, WY. (Green River lakes, New Fork lake, Willow Lake, Fremont lake, Half Moon and Boulder lake::

the 6 larger, glacial cut lakes  in Pinedale area, all 7500 to 8000

      Elv).

The. Mid Campground and boat launch area at Fremont Lake has about 52 units, although it seems freq. Under modification by the USFS...

Narrow paved, pull thru and back in sites., on hillside not far above the lake.  Interspaced water available,  but "community"  not per site use.   toilets under upgrade.   Lots of shade in the pines.    Boat launching with care at campground, also being improved.

      Tables and firepits all sites.

This is a good place to base out of when fishing the Pinedale area, and is fairly close to town for supplies.

FREMONT LAKE is about 9 miles

long,  and fishing can be good or spotty for MACS, & BOWS

It is primarily a trolling lake and not much on Bank fishing, Fremont is around 600ft deep and relatively narrow.

Usually FS has large trash disposals at campground exit.

finding a level pull thru almost non e x istant.

Boulder Lake Trail - Trailhead Dispersed Camping

      Free camping and lake access

This area is noted as the backpacker parking area to access the wilderness trails above Boulder Lake. It is just outside of the developed Boulder Lake CG. However this area is also a popular free dispersed camp area for TTs and RVs as the regular campground is a bit tight for larger TTs and RVs and the loop Rd in the campground is terrible. So folks camp out here on the open flat grassy area, and as a bonus there is a grassy boat launch area good for kayaks and other water craft. No potable water, no toilets, no trash dumpsters, no tables or fire rings. 14d limit and the rangers do come around to check I hear. There is a toilet up the hill at the packstock staging parking area.

      Worthen Meadow Campground

      Pretty, quiet campground

Peaceful lakeside spot – stayed here for one night while passing through the area. Loved the sunrise over the lake and the privacy of the sites. Quiet place to camp, even though there were a lot of groups there when we arrived, we had no trouble finding a spot. Pit toilet on-site and walking trails around the lake are close by.

Warren Bridge Recreation Area Designated Dispersed Camping

Roadside Camp On The Green River

This nice little Campground is all first come first served. Sits on the banks on the Green River. There is water, pit toilets, fire Rings, lamp post, and water. The only downside to the campground is it is located right along a fairly busy two lane Highway. However after dark the traffic Falls to almost zero.

The campground is located a dozen miles or so north of Pinedale Wyoming which offers full services. It also provides easy access to the amazing Green River Lakes area. Just across the highway a gravel road parallels the Green River offering about a dozen free riverside campsites. The main road to these is rough but well maintained. However the road to several of the sites are quite narrow and rough and should be scouted if you're pulling a trailer or driving a larger RV.

There is amazing Wildlife viewing right from the campground. On my last visit I saw mule deer, moose, and Antelope right from my campsite.

Popo Agie Campground — Sinks Canyon State Park

      Beautiful!

I took my 4 teens and 3 dogs tent camping here last summer and it was the best of the best. The surroundings are magnificent. The nature trail was fun. The campsites are spaced away from each other so as to enjoy privacy. We could have stayed longer it was wonderful.

Glacier Trailhead Campsites in Fitzpatrick Wilderness Area

Glacier Trail 801 Campground, Fitzpatrick Wilderness Area

      Closest Town, Dubois Wyoming

This is a primitive campsite, with no running water, fire rings or fancy tent platforms, but there is a vault toilet about 200 yards away in the parking area for the New Glacier Trailhead, aka Glacier Trail 801. There is room for several tents spread out among the trees and scrub, and a few spots right next to Torrey Creek, as we chose. They are not numbered and there is to my knowledge, no way to reserve a spot. That said, we were the only ones there in July!

Glacier Trail 801 is located at the end of Forrest Road #411, and branches off along the way to Whiskey Mtn Trail 804 and Lake Louise Trail 806. This campsite made a great jumping off point for day hiking. The hike to Lake Louise is worth every step! (even if you haven't acclimated to the altitude yet and less than 4 mile loop feels more like 15, just saying ;) Don't forget to log your name in the register before setting off on the trails.

Technically speaking, this campsite is right on Torrey Creek, at Glacier Trailhead 801.1.

Adjacent to this area, is a turn around that can accommodate RVs, with maybe 6 spots give or take. No hook ups, but there are bear boxes on these sites.

What to know: Bear Country, you know the shpeel. Mosquitos, affirmative. Remember Torrey Creek is glacial melt and is likely to be heavier later in the day than in the morning, and sounds incredible to sleep by at night.

How to get there: Heading South out of Dubois, WY, take US-26 for about 3.5 miles and turn right on Trail Lake Road (look for the Fish Hatchery sign, which is small and easy to miss). Stay on Trail Lake Road/#411 at the fork. Continue on #411 all the way to the end and you will find yourself in the parking lot for Glacier Trail 801. See the vault toilet and look a couple hundred yards past that and beyond the horse corral to Torrey Creek for the campsites. You can drive all the way too it, past the horses, but beware it is really rutted.

True Story: I am relatively certain I am the only person that actually wears bear bells when I hike. But hey, I sound pretty dang cheerful everywhere I go!

    Guide to Boulder

Dispersed camping opportunities near Boulder, Wyoming, offer access to the Wind River Mountain Range at elevations between 7,000-9,000 feet. The camping season typically runs from May through October, with July and August providing the most reliable weather conditions. Winter storms can occur even in summer months, particularly at higher elevations around Boulder Lake.

    What to do

Fishing access points: The New Fork River-Remmick Public Access Area provides good river access for anglers seeking trout. "This WY Game and Fish public access area is for the New Fork River. There is a nice open parking area, a new vault toilet but no potable water, trash cans or table/fire ring," notes Greg L.

Hiking to alpine lakes: From Trails End Campground, backpackers can access trails into the Wind River Range. "We camped in Site 1 out of the 8 and had lots of privacy. The next morning we started a backpacking trip into Titcomb Basin and the location was perfect for that," shares David B. The trailhead sits at 9,350 feet elevation.

Wildlife viewing: Campers at Soda Lake often spot diverse wildlife. "Lots of feathered wildlife, including turkey vultures, eagles, and osprey. The campsites are close to the beach, with nice views of the wind river range," mentions Julie W. Some campers report seeing wild horses visiting the lake to drink.

    What campers like

Mountain views: The Wind River View Campground delivers on its name despite its basic facilities. Thomas L. confirms: "Really nice campground. Has beautiful view of the Wind River Range. Nice, easy-going host. Only downside would be the road noise, but that's not real bad."

Accessible fishing: Many campers appreciate easy water access at Soda Lake WHMA, which features established campsites around the shoreline. "Right around the lake dispersed spots with lots of room between spots. A couple of pit toilets," says Mike E. Another reviewer notes: "The lake itself is beautiful and the sites are really large. All have fire rings and some nice large bbqs."

Clean facilities: At Boulder-area campgrounds with amenities, cleanliness stands out. One camper at Yellowstone Trail RV Park was particularly impressed: "I just stopped for a shower before going into the mountains but the park was so gorgeous with great views that I decided to stay for the night. The staff keeps the bathroom immaculate and they are so helpful!"

    What you should know

Road conditions: Access to some pet-friendly campgrounds near Boulder requires navigating rough roads. Greg L. warns about South Boulder Lake: "The road in is narrow and lumpy and I would not haul in a TT or RV." Similarly, for Half Moon WMA - Pole Creek Campground, a reviewer cautions: "It's a rough drive in down the last road. I recommend high clearance, 4WD even better."

Weather exposure: The landscape around Boulder offers minimal protection from elements. At Soda Lake, Carla K. notes: "No trees so the wind is brutal!" Another camper adds: "The area around the lake is completely void of trees, so all of the sites are full sun, but there was a good breeze/wind most days."

Limited services: Most dispersed camping areas lack services. Kelly Park's dispersed camping features "no marked sites, water or trash and cell signal is dependent on your camp," according to Greg L. Even established campgrounds like Trails End have restrictions: "Campground had vault toilets but no running water available. Pack in what you need and download maps before entering."

    Tips for camping with families

Lake activities: Families enjoy water access at several dog-friendly campgrounds near Boulder. Soda Lake provides "lake access + boat launches" and "two boat ramps but the better concrete one is on the west shore," notes Katherine C. Remember that swimming might not be ideal everywhere—one camper mentions Soda Lake "has leeches so no swimming."

Recreation options: Highline Trail RV Park offers amenities beyond camping. One visitor appreciates that "there's a basketball court, pickleball court, and cornhole to keep yourself or your kiddos preoccupied." The park also maintains "ample space between sites" with "plenty of shade and great views of the mountains."

Bug preparation: Insect protection is essential for family comfort. At Trails End Campground, Lucy L. warns: "Bugs and flies were pretty bad but it didnt deter us from enjoying the sunset." Another camper mentions that "during July, when the weather gets hot, the bugs are very bad" at Soda Lake.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection: For RVers seeking pet-friendly spots near Boulder, Kelly Park FS Rd #747 Dispersed Camping offers accessible options. Brittany F. explains: "Nice simple spot. I wouldn't really say it's an open grassy area but more of several dirt road offshoots where there are some level spots. The level spots are pretty spread apart so doesn't feel crowded. Made it okay in our SUV and 25' camper."

Hookup availability: RVers appreciate Highline Trail RV Park's full hookups. Ron H. notes: "Great spot for a stop on your trip or as a base camp for exploring the area. Spaces are big and spread out. Everything was clean and well maintained." Another RVer adds that sites are "surprisingly level too, almost didn't need to level at all."

Emergency assistance: Staff helpfulness matters when traveling in remote areas. At Wind River View Campground, Matthew B. found "extremely helpful owner helped us sort something with another part of our trip." Similarly, at Highline Trail RV Park, Joey M. shared: "We actually had a dead battery and the nice couple helping out here got us a new battery. We are truly blessed for their kindness."
