    Star Valley Ranch RV Park

Near location attractions like Crystal Lake

Nice dog park for big and small dogs. At this campground, you are a little close to neighbors but they stagger the trailers so it works. Nice trees for shade. The restrooms were as clean but they were older facilities. No road noise.

    Alpine Valley RV Resort

    Wrongly warned

Stayed 4 nights, campground is well maintained. Check in went smothly. RV spots are on concrete and level. So glad we already had a water regulator. We were told as we were checking in that we definitely needed one due to pressure being 90psi. Campground is about an hour and 15 minutes from The Grand Tetons. Not worth the drive for the amount of money it is to stay at this campground. The patios and grass area at RV sites are plush but if you have dogs you can't put up dog fencing. The dog play area had 1 bench for owners to sit. The gate for the dog park was very loosely secured. No water hose or faucet available to get water for your dog while at dog park. We had neighbors that complained about our dogs playing to loudly. Then, on our last night we were doing some pre packing to leave the campground the next morning. It was 8:40pm and we heard a knock at our door, the dogs were being quiet and we weren't expecting anyone. Went to the door and it was an employee from the campground to tell us that we had our outside lights on. I was confused and asked the man what time it was? He said it's 8:45. Then, to confirm, I asked what time we had to have the lights turned off the outside and he said 10pm was quiet time and all lights should be off. I assured him we had read the rules and we knew we had to have the lights off by 10pm and we also knew when quiet time started, and that we were planning on having the lights off before then. We weren't doing anything wrong so why in the world did he come to our RV to tell us our lights were on as if we were doing something wrong. Felt unwelcomed, our money is as good as anyone else's. Very RUDE!

    Wolf Den RV Park

    Small, very clean campground

Meticulously cared for family owned and run campground with log cabins. Many pros to this campground... Nice wide sites, most pull through, clean showers and laundry room. The people who run it are super friendly and helpful. Great liquor store and great food truck attached to the grounds. great hook ups, reception and even better WiFi. Only cons are that it is just off Hwy 89, but you don't hear road noise at night. No dog park and is over an hour to Grand Teton and Jackson Hole. We did find great hiking only a few minutes from the campground. We would definitely recommend this place. The owners are constantly out doing improvements, which impressed us a great deal

    Alpine North Loop Campground

    Small & Clean

Host is amazing! Campgrounds are good sizes and accommodates Travel trailers and fifth wheels. Does have group camping. No water hookup, no electricity and no showers. There is noises from the vehicles on the road nearby. It is close to the roads. Pet friendly.

    Snake River Alpine Dispersed Camping

    Fun Place to Camp

Beautiful place to camp. The water is shallow and surrounded by mountains. You have to wade through mud to get to the water (which is also muddy). You can also still hear the highway traffic, but not bad. We visited in August, so the fires made the area hazy. The up sides: lots of space and privacy. Camp sites are super far apart in comparison to others. Fire pits are available and drift wood is everywhere. Some spots have trees for hammocks. Pet friendly and lots of bird watching.

    Fireside Resort at Jackson Hole

Great location, need to maintain sites better

As others have said the cabins are beautiful as is the entrance. The RV sites have all the basics you need and the park is very quiet and peaceful. The thing I didn't appreciate for the price we are paying is trash in our site and others people's pet waste that hadn't been picked up. Gross. I really hope they upgrade the sites a bit and improve the weeds to grass as it is a great location.

    Curtis Canyon Campground

    Amazing views of the Tetons.

Free dispersed camping with an amazing view. We definitely enjoyed our stay. There were 16 sites total at this campground and the road gets tougher as you go. We had great AT&T and Sprint service at our campsite (1A). Mosquitos are abundant so come prepared. We also did see a bear at our campsite just down the valley but did not bother us. Pets are also welcome!

    Curtis Canyon Campground

    Amazing. Amazing.

Dispersed/free camping in the National Elk Refuge. The drive up the gravel road is super fun and provides great views of the Tetons and wildlife. We stayed at campsite 1A. When we first pulled in we spotted a grizzly down by the stream about 400 yards down the hillside. It didn’t bother us at night. The road can be a little rough on up the mountain towards the higher number camp sites. There are 16 sites. The road might be impassible for a small car or mini van if it’s wet out so use good judgment. Pets are welcome but must be kept on leash. Also we had great AT&T and Sprint Cell signal at our site.

    Palisades Reservoir

    One reservoir, many options

Ultimate lake camping; bring your boat for wakeboarding, tubing, or just relaxing. Even human powered vehicles can be enjoyed; especially close to shore. So much to explore! There are so many places to get out and camp, many of these dispersed camping areas include vault toilets at the entrances, although not much else besides a boat ramp. Some of them are better than others, so be sure to check it out before launching your boat. The ground near the reservoir can get very silty and muddy if there has been recent wet weather, you risk getting your vehicle stuck if you back in too far. Even the dirt roads can get that way - but pay attention and you'll be fine. There were several toy haulers and RVs that made it in and made it out without incident; my group managed to get in and out ok too.

In late May, it still gets cold at night yet there are mosquitos in this marshy area. They're not too bad, but if you're sensitive to the bites be prepared. I was fine in long sleeves and pants, they mostly left me alone. Fires are allowed most of the time, unless there is a red flag warning. Its your responsibility to know what isn't allowed, there are typically signs posted at the entrances if there are restrictions. Pets are fine too. I think the camping limit was 14 days, but that may have been at the site we chose. Others may be less.

We stayed at one of very many sites along the reservoir. With 70 miles of shoreline, you're bound to have your own unique experience.

Guide to Bedford

Dispersed camping areas near Bedford, Wyoming offer options for pet owners throughout the Grey's River area. Sites range from open riverside spots to more secluded locations set back from popular recreation zones. The terrain varies from level dirt surfaces to more rugged areas that may require higher clearance vehicles, with most dispersed sites situated at elevations between 6,000-7,000 feet where summer temperatures typically range from 45-85°F.

What to do

Fishing access points: The Reservoir Disperse Camping near Melvin Brewing provides direct water access for anglers with pets. "We could kayak right off from our spot. It was right after 4th of July weekend so we were having a hard time finding spots in other areas," notes Megan D., who appreciated the lakeside location. Sites are positioned along the water with mountain backdrops.

Brewery visits with dogs: Several camping areas are situated near dog-friendly breweries, creating convenient recreation options. At Reservoir Disperse Camping near Melvin Brewing, campers can enjoy both outdoor recreation and brewery amenities. Caroline D. describes the experience: "Our first time boondocking in a camper van and we may be spoiled for life! Had a spot right on the water, with an brewery 100 yards away. The people were great, the brews were tasty and the sunset was stunning."

Hiking trails: Moose Flat Campground provides access to hiking trails suitable for leashed dogs along Grey's River. While primarily known for fishing, the area offers bank access and nearby trails. As Fred S. notes, "Easy access to Greys River for bank fishing. Vault toilet, well water pump and trash service. Sites include a picnic table and metal fire ring."

What campers like

Mountain views: Alpine Valley RV Resort offers panoramic mountain scenery that pet owners appreciate while walking dogs. "This is a higher end campground with great mountain views all around. Very nice spacious sites with Full hookups. Concrete pads, outdoor table and chairs provided, great landscaping, fire pits," writes Barb N. about the setting.

Waterfront sites: Campers with dogs appreciate the ability to camp directly beside water at several locations. At Indian Creek, Gabrielle H. found "Good protection from wind, minimal road noise. Lake half frozen, locals fishing." The campground offers wide dispersed sites with water access.

Clean facilities: Wolf Den RV Park maintains well-kept amenities that pet owners value. Debra M. describes the experience: "There is a shower house and a laundry. The office has ice and some supplies. There is a package store in the front and the town of Alpine is about 10 miles away. The campground is very well kept and the owner is very helpful."

What you should know

Tidal fluctuations: Water levels can change rapidly at certain reservoirs, potentially affecting pet safety. At Reservoir Disperse Camping near Melvin Brewing, Sara N. warns, "Main issue—can't really tell how far the reservoir tide will come up. We set our chairs up by a fire pit before dinner and came back to them in a few inches of water. A few other people seem like they're getting encroached by water too so just be mindful."

Road conditions: Access roads to many dispersed camping areas require careful navigation. Johny R. notes about Reservoir Disperse Camping: "The road from the brewery is about 100 yards and dirt. Its very bumpy but go slow with some clearance and its 2wd fine."

Site specifications: Be prepared for variable campsite conditions throughout the area. According to Dutchess S., "As far as I can tell if there is a flat spot and fire ring you can park for 5 days MAX! And the local LE is strict on that." Most dispersed sites have minimal facilities but offer pet-friendly conditions.

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Greys River Cove RV Park provides family amenities alongside pet-friendly policies. Aimee M. reports, "This is a great campground in Alpine WY. Level sites, full hook ups available, excellent wifi and cell service. The owner has upgraded the grassy areas, offers nice places to sit and hang out."

Noise considerations: Be aware of potential noise sources that might disturb children or pets. Rachel warns about tent camping at Greys River Cove: "The tent area is about 20 yards from an extremely loud bar. People are outside it yelling til after 2am." Families may prefer sites further from entertainment venues.

Swimming options: Several campgrounds offer pet-friendly swimming access for families. At Indian Creek, one camper notes, "The beach and the sunset views over the water and mountains are amazing. It's smallish but you never feel like it's over crowded." The shoreline provides space for both pets and children.

Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Flat Creek RV Park and Cabins offers full services for RVers with pets. Heather H. mentions, "Really nice people. Helped us out in a jam. Clean bathrooms and showers. Full hook ups." This provides convenience for RVers needing services while traveling with animals.

Site leveling: Many dispersed areas require careful positioning for comfortable RV camping. Justin from Reservoir Disperse notes, "There are tons of places to go—some a little sketchy if you have a larger rig." RVers should scout locations before committing, especially with larger vehicles.

Water pressure: When staying at established campgrounds with pets, bring appropriate equipment. At Alpine Valley RV Resort, a camper was "told as we were checking in that we definitely needed one due to pressure being 90psi." Having a water regulator protects RV systems while ensuring adequate water for pet needs.
