"Close to freeway for easy access. Nice walking paths. Typical state park yurt set up."
"It is a very convenient place to camp being close to the interstate. We stay 3 nights. the bathrooms were clean and the dumpsters were close by."
"The lake is small but awesome. Bald eagles flying overhead. Close to Battleground Washington."
"Battleground is a nice and well loved state park not far from Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington."
"Flat gravel for most part, steps away from the Columbia River, decent space between sites with good shade depending on your site. Only reason for 4 starts is because the water is dirty."
"I would recommend anyone to stay here it makes you truly enjoy getting away from the city but not too far that you would have to take days off work. It's peaceful, clean, and quiet."
$30 / night
"Location is close to town but still feels like you are in your own little world. Beautiful walking paths line the water. A must visit for sure!"
"Next to a moderately busy road, but paved spots, WiFi, lovely walking trails and bathroom and showers are clean and maintained! Must have a tent pitched, if traveling and staying with your vehicle."

"We stopped here on our way south from Washington. Had a nice stay. Campsite was so clean, even the gravel was raked. Plenty of room at each campsite. Bathrooms were old but very clean and well kept."
"As we had been here before, it was an easy drive in on US-26 to the campground (CG)."
"Campground was clean, access to the river . Great fishing very chill quiet campground right off I-5 and close to shopping. I will stay again."

"It was conveniently located close to Portland and stores. The staff was really friendly and the facilities are super clean. And guess what…. The laundry machines actually work!"
"Stayed the night in one of thier small cabins, very nice sat outside by the fire and just watched the stars, this is a primary horse camp and is surrounded by trails, seen a heard of elk on one of my hikes"
"Bring your horses and ride the trails and stay at the horse camp.
Tent and two RV sites are on the first right turn and there is even a stream to play at."
Beautiful place, great location, shaded and sites are well spaced but unfortunately the camp host was terrible. On departure day we were at our site 30 minutes after check out, there was no one waiting for our site, but she felt the need to take a video of us packing up. She did not utter a word to us just started recording. The site was immaculate when we left (as it should be) but she still decided to call the police and make up lies about us vandalizing the restrooms. She should probably choose a new job if she’s so miserable.. there are more adult ways to handle situations like maybeee having a conversation? Very weird, I have never experienced anything like it. If you have a blond 40 year old woman for a host be sure to be on your tippy top best behavior. Hope your life becomes more joyful, lady.
Barton Campground has everything you need for a good trip. We stayed in site 91. We had power and water hook ups. The bathrooms in our loop were nice and clean. The kids enjoyed the playground and biking around the loop. The river access down at the day use was lovely. All the park staff were friendly.
It looks like this place used to be maintained to a higher standard. There are remnants of a ton of fun amenities like walking trails, a basketball court, and large day use picnic shelters… but all of the above a pretty overgrown. There’s a cute photo op with a giant Adirondack chair, but the R and the O in “Barton” were missing. 😆 When we went on a walk, we noticed that the only bathroom in the tent loop was out of order. Also, the hose at the dump station wasn’t working…
But if all you need is a campsite with p/w hook ups, clean public restrooms, plenty of space for the kids to play, and sweet access to a beautiful river, Barton Campground would fit the bill!
Fun fact: when we stayed in June 2025, there was a section of the playground marked off with cones and pink tape. Apparently a migratory bird was nesting on the ground so they blocked it off so people wouldn’t disturb it. It was very cool!
Large sites that are pretty private. Lots of shade and trees. The bathrooms work well and were clean. Our site had a beautiful water view, but there was a trail that went by right next to the site limiting privacy.
Easily accessible from the interstate, but you will hear a fair bit of road noise. No showers/running water that I saw. Despite being half full on a Thursday in June, no one was making much noise. Watch out for poison oak. If you just need a spot to get off the road for the night, this is pretty good.
Wyeth is a very nice national campground. It’s well maintained, has flushing toilets, and has great access to hiking and biking trails. It also has some cool history noted on signs throughout the campground. We had two young kids with us and enjoyed walking to the waterfall.
It’s definitely best for smaller rigs and tents. We have a short bed truck and a 22’ trailer and had a very hard time getting into the spot we reserved (site 8). The site itself had plenty of room for us but the roads are very narrow and are lined with curbs, so there’s not a lot of room to back into the sites. Another camper offered to trade sites with us, which was very appreciated.
The road noise is pretty loud if you’re in the campground. But once you hike back into the forest, it gets quieter.
4 stars because it’s a nice place but not perfect due to limited spots that can fit our rig, and due to the road noise.
Cute and small, lots of little amenities for cooking, bathroom etc
Your vehicle is not allowed inside the lot but there is usually ample street parking near the gate to get inside.
Stopped for a night during our camping trip so we could still have service for the night to conduct emergency business back home!
We stayed here one night while heading north. Hoped to see Mt. St. Helens but it was overcast. Spoke with a very nice camp host. Clean bathrooms, one women’s shower. Walk to Mt. St. Helens visitor center. Very shaded and dense forest. No cell (occasionally 1 bar LTE AT&T). Too heavily forested for Starlink. Had to leave early Monday morning since we were working and needed internet.
We stayed 3 nights at Toutle River RV Resort now owned by RV Inn Style chain. Quiet and respectful campers with paroling friendly staff. I5 access is perfect, although road and train noise could be bothersome for some campers as the campground is nestled in between. The camp store and pool were open. The playground, disk golf and basketball hoops accessible but the pickle ball courts had been removed since we last visited. Sites range from open to treed with many of the pick nick tables needing refurbished. Full hookups with gravel pads for 70+$$ per night. WiFi isn’t free, must be purchased. We had spotty cell service with Verizon though we were directly off I5 corridor. The public restrooms were clean, but mostly under construction while we were camping. Many full timers w/park models and trailer/RV’s sprinkled throughout the park. All-in-all we will stay here again in the future and happy to do so.
Friendly, clean, and quiet ( except for the train every 2 hours) ear plugs provided! Hot tub was not working but everything else was good.
