    Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway

Nice Location to hit the parks

Centrally located off the main road. About ten minutes from Arches National Park and twenty minutes from Canyonland Nation Park/Dead Horse State Park. Level camping pads. Clean drinking water. The bathrooms are nice but there are only four so it can get congested. Slight noise pollution from the main strip but worth it for the central location. Nice pool. Moderately priced gas station and camp store on site. Friendly staff. If you plan to visit Arches NP don’t forget make the mandatory reservation online with the NPS.

Ok RV Park & Canyonlands Stables

    Highly Recommended

We stayed in one of the tent sites and I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality of this park. The bathrooms were well thought out and in impeccable condition. The staff was kind and so responsive to questions and considerate of our arrival time. The tent we stayed in had everything we needed - a wonderfully comfortable king bed, towels ready to go, lights that were portable in case you needed for a walk at night, air conditioning, heater, WiFi.... obsessed!

Ok RV Park & Canyonlands Stables

    Clean, friendly staff, easy rules

This is a large RV and camping site, just south of Moab. I was greeted by a friendly staff member in a cool air conditioned office. We enjoyed the clean 24 hour bathrooms and  laundry room. The wifi was pretty good if you are in a spot near the office. They sold some essentials in their store like ice, firewood and ice cream. Our spot also had a nice tree for shade which was great in the summer heat.

Kayenta Campground — Dead Horse Point State Park

    Kayenta Campground: A Desert Oasis

While this was a bit more expensive ($43) than we are accustomed to paying for a campsite, we opted to stay here due to the close proximity to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. That said, after spending a night in the campground and exploring the park the following day, we felt it was well-worth the cost.

Our campsite was private and had its own picnic table and shelter, which included a light and lockable cupboard for food and other items. Each campsite has a fire pit and grill, though we used neither due to the burning ban. The bathrooms were very clean. Kayenta has some spectacular views, especially at sunset. Overall, five stars from us!

    Needles Outpost Campground

    Needles outpost

We came across Needles Outpost on our road trip across southern Utah. After some nights of dispersed camping, this was a welcome treat. The camping grounds were pleasantly spaced and we did not feel like we were on top of other campers. Amber, owner of the site, was absolutely wonderful and we enjoyed stopping into the outpost to chat with her. Amber had a store with crucial essentials that you may need, firewood (which was thick logs that go a long way!), gas for when you’re in an absolute pinch (nearest gas station is 30-40 miles away), and bathroom with showers (must purchase tokens, similar to NP sites). We did one night staying at site 4 and a night in one of Ambers canvas (glamping) tents. Both were extremely well kept and had beautiful surroundings. The sunsets over Canyonlands NP and the star gazing were outstanding and alone made the stay worth every penny. If we ever find ourselves back in the needles region of Canyonlands, Needles Outpost will be our overnight stay.

Moenkopi Yurts — Dead Horse Point State Park

    Yurt for the win!

The yurt was amazing. Clean restroom, huge deck, and the air conditioning was nice in the desert! Right on bike/hike trails and the night sky was stunning.

    Under Canvas Moab

    Beautiful Glamping in Moab

We spent 3 night at Under Canvas Moab for a wedding and had a wonderful experience. We (2 couples) stayed in a 4-single beds tent and were happy with the choice due to the heat while we were there. The canvas tent was beautiful and included the 4 beds, 4 folding chairs, a dresser, and outlets to charge cell phones. Under Canvas provided live music Friday night, yoga Saturday morning, and smores around the campfire every night. We needed to do a lot of set up for the wedding ceremony and reception, and the Under Canvas staff were incredibly helpful to help us prepare. Some tents included a bathroom and shower. Ours did not, and we had no problem using the shared bathrooms and showers with other guests. Overall, a great spot for glamping and for a beautiful wedding!!

    Sun Outdoors North Moab

    Nice campground

Nice spot to set up camp. Close to Arches and Canyonlands. Shop inside check in had lots of things you could need. We got ice and aluminum foil. Each tent site had a charcoal grill and weather canopy. It was nice. Bathrooms were air conditioned and had a nice shower. Only downside was it rained a lot and we had a bit of a stream under our tent so we had to move it to where the car parks instead of under the weather canopy during the rain storm. The views of the mountains are great!
