    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Mustang Island State Park Campground permits pets throughout its beachside sites where both tent and RV camping options accommodate visitors with dogs. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the park maintains pet-friendly policies across its primitive beach camping areas and developed campsites behind the dunes. North Beach at Padre Island National Seashore similarly welcomes pets in its dispersed camping zones where drinking water and restroom facilities are available. The campground spacing at NAS RV Park provides ample room between sites, making it suitable for exercising leashed pets, though visitors should watch for goat head stickers that can injure paws. Many pet-friendly campgrounds near Corpus Christi offer designated pet exercise spaces, with some campsites positioned to provide convenient beach access for dog walking.

Port Aransas Permit Beach allows pets in its dispersed camping area where fires are permitted and picnic tables are provided. Campers with dogs frequently mention the sandy but worthwhile beach camping experience with relatively sparse crowds during weekdays. The coastal parks provide excellent shoreline walking opportunities, though wind conditions can be challenging for tent campers with pets. Most properties enforce standard leash policies, and park cleanliness is generally well-maintained with trash disposal available at developed sites. Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort and Pioneer Beach Resort offer alternative accommodation options with full hookups and clean facilities suitable for extended stays with pets. The proximity to Padre Island's protected beaches and Port Aransas allows for varied outdoor experiences where dogs can enjoy both bay and gulf environments during morning and evening outings when temperatures are milder.

      Padre Balli County Park

      Best deal in Texas

I love this site Best in Texas, you can see and hear the ocean from your tent, and its on the Island so there are a lot of attractions for visitors. The price for tent campers is $20 day or $125 weekly & it includes power, water and single private bathrooms and single private showers. You can only stay 14 days, then you have to leave for a day at least, but then you can come back for another 14 days. The showers and bathrooms are cleaned a couple times a day. There is no shade, but it has a couple ponds that make it a nice atmosphere. The office staff are the best in the business, bar none, I cant express how awesome they are. It has RV and tent camping, and it is always peaceful. Never seen any rowdy campers, and there are a lot of county park workers doing stuff so it is well monitored for trouble of any kind. They dont harass you though like a lot of campgrounds. You have a gate code and wifi, although the wifi leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. The beach is just across the street, and its a really fun part of the beach with a lot of things going on- people are friendly and there are a lot of things to do on the main road. It is on Padre Island, so you have to take a long bridge to get on the island from Corpus Christi, and the view is awesome on that bridge, but with all the attractions here on the island, you dont really need to go off the island for much.

      EZ Living RV Park

E.Z.Living rv park Lake Corpus Christi

I have been at E.Z. Living rv park in Corpus Christi Texas for almost 3 months. It has a laundry room and mail room. Very quiet park. The people here have been very welcoming and will help you with anything. The owners are salt of the earth people who are very helpful and welcoming. The lake can be seen from the park and will take you about 4 minutes to walk to the water. Great people, great location. Will definitely revisit. 5 stars.

South Beach — Padre Island National Seashore

South Beach, Padre Island National Seashore

We've spent many winter months around the Corpus Christi, Texas area and visit South Beach frequently. Plenty to do; fishing, sunbathing, bird watching, photography, and on some evenings after dark you can spot deer and coyote come out of the sand dunes to feed on seaweed and fish remains. We prefer to camp at nearby Malequite campground for $5 a night with water, bathrooms and showers. The visitor's center has some supplies.

      Mustang Island State Park Campground

      Very toasty, no shade

Being that this is Texas, it's super hot all day and all night long. It's worse when there is no shade to shield you. Although the breeze is great off of the water, shade would be nice. The area is clean, the beach is clean, and it is about what you can expect from a Corpus Christi beach area camp site. Nothing special, just enough.

Lake Corpus Christi State Park Campground

Nice place for a weekend getaway!

Lake Corpus Christie is a beautiful place where you can camp and enjoy water activities but if you enjoy hiking this is not the place. Unfortunately, it lacks hiking trails. There are plenty of spacious campsites next to the water where you can enjoy laying in a hammock, campfires, and grilling but lacks privacy. Catfish Cove offers water only sites but other areas offer water electricity, full hook-up sites, or enclosed shelters with AC. While we enjoyed camping here there is an over abundance of stickers that we had to continually pull out of the dogs paws.

      Hatch RV Park

      Very nice!

Call last minute and score! i was expecting a higher price for being so close to downtown Corpus Christi and North beach, just 12-15 min. Level concrete pads full hook ups and very nice manager. Quiet place even when it was pretty full.

    Guide to Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi camping areas feature consistent southeast winds averaging 10-15 mph throughout the year. The Texas Gulf Coast experiences strong wind conditions particularly during afternoon hours, which can impact tent setups but provide relief from heat during summer camping when temperatures regularly exceed 90°F. The barrier islands protecting the mainland create both bay and ocean camping environments.

    What to do

Beach fishing opportunities: Port Aransas Permit Beach allows drive-up access directly to fishing spots. "Beautiful sandy beach in an unspoiled, undeveloped natural area," notes Eric B. about the shoreline conditions, making it ideal for surf fishing throughout the day.

Wildlife observation: Mustang Island State Park Campground offers both bay and ocean environments for nature viewing. "One of my favorite places in the park was the recreational area further inland. Beautiful sunset and lots of crabs to catch," shares Kayla M. about the inland water areas where wildlife congregates.

Sea turtle releases: The Padre Island National Seashore coordinates public sea turtle hatchling releases during summer months. "We did happen to be there for the release of some sea turtles which was the highlight," explains James S. about this unique seasonal opportunity that typically occurs between June and August.

    What campers like

Protected camping locations: Sites positioned behind dunes provide wind shelter while maintaining beach access. "Loved that the beach was walking distance from camp, but the sites were guarded by the dunes. Really helped fend off the wind," reports Kayla M. about the dune protection at developed sites.

Beach driving access: Port Aransas Permit Beach offers direct vehicle access to camping spots along the shore. "You can drive right on the beach like a highway, in fact people do even in big rigs. You can park right on the beach," explains Starseed P. about the vehicle accessibility.

Evening beach activities: Campfire opportunities exist at certain beach locations. "Our favorite part was having a bonfire on the beach at sunset," writes Donell about the nighttime beach experience, which provides relief from daytime heat and offers social gathering opportunities.

    What you should know

Permit requirements: Beach camping requires proper permits purchased in advance. "$12 a year to camp on a beautiful and clean beach any time I want? Yes please! Just spent the weekend on the beach at Access Road 1A," notes Daniel B. about the annual permit system for Port Aransas Beach.

Tent camping challenges: Wind conditions require proper equipment and setup techniques. "Hope you are well practiced in setting up a tent in windy conditions. Awesome, clean area to camp ON the beach," advises Shelly S. about preparing for consistent coastal breezes.

Sand management: Fine sand infiltrates equipment and vehicles at beach sites. "Be ready to deal with fine sand in your rv and everything," warns Rocco about the persistent sand conditions that affect camping gear, vehicles, and personal comfort.

    Tips for camping with families

Timing beach activities: Schedule water activities during morning hours to avoid peak winds. "The camp area is off the beach behind a dune, and is just a long strip of sites with a bath house towards the entrance. It was surprisingly windy to be behind a dune," explains Talon W. from North Beach — Padre Island National Seashore.

Ghost crab hunting: Evening shoreline walks provide opportunities to spot active ghost crabs. "Ghost crabs will be rubbing up against your tent all night," mentions James S. about the nocturnal wildlife activity that children enjoy observing with flashlights.
