Camping options near White House, Tennessee span a 30-mile radius with sites situated between 400-650 feet in elevation. The Cumberland River watershed creates numerous lake camping opportunities with water temperatures reaching 80°F during summer months. Most campgrounds in the region maintain operating seasons from April through October, though several sites offer year-round availability.
What to do
Fishing access points: Cages Bend offers prime fishing locations along Old Hickory Lake with designated platforms. "We stayed in site 41. We were in town for an event and picked this site for the convenience to the exit. Turned out to be a great spot. It was quiet and clean. I think every site has some view of the lake, even if not directly," noted one visitor at Cages Bend.
Hiking trails: Cedar Creek provides multiple trail options connecting directly to campsites. "Most sites have a lovely view of the lake if not directly along the shore. Swimming beach, playground, and marina both within walking distance," reports a camper at Cedar Creek.
Swimming beaches: Seven Points campground maintains a designated swimming area with sandy beach during summer months. "We have stayed at Seven Points around Memorial Day for 3 years now. This year was fabulous! Love the improvements they have made and the clear out they did on some of the spots. We had great neighbors and enjoyed the beach!"
What campers like
Entertainment options: Regular live music performances happen at multiple campgrounds. "The Grand Ole RV Resort offers live free entertainment nightly and some of the most pleasant staff we have encountered," according to a review of Grand Ole RV Resort & Market.
Campsite privacy: Several campgrounds feature well-spaced sites with natural screening. "These campsites are great - nice and spread out and tucked in the woods. Plus, the campsites closest to the lakes are right on the water or across the road from the water, so great for fishing and gorgeous sunsets too!" states a camper at Seven Points.
Proximity to supplies: Many sites offer quick access to stores for forgotten items. "Bathrooms were super clean. Was able to get groceries and all I needed just 10 mins away," notes a visitor at Cedars of Lebanon State Park.
What you should know
Train noise considerations: Railroad tracks pass near several campgrounds. "This is a nice, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in Nashville. It is located within a loop of the Cumberland River, between two RV dealer/repair facilities and surrounded by two RV CGs- it's a busy area," reports a visitor at Two Rivers Campground.
Limited shade at some sites: Central camping areas often have less tree coverage. "We stayed in the center of the park, which didn't have much shade, but the outer edge sites seemed more wooded. The roads and campsites are made of small pebbles, which made it easy to drive and back in."
Seasonal wildlife concerns: Ticks become prevalent during warmer months. "Site 22 has a slightly declined slope and is right next to another site that is a pull through. It is also right next to the main road for the park. Vehicles drive relatively slow due to all the speed bumps. There are tons of deer at this park. Our dogs picked up ticks every day, and we had a few as well."
