Located along U.S. Highway 281, Armour’s Lions Park features many amenities perfect for a weekend getaway or family reunion. The park has two picnic shelters, 10 camping pads, two cabins and a bathhouse. There’s also plenty of green space, a sand volleyball court and playground facilities for the kids. The park’s restroom and shower facilities also include a dump station for campers and RVs.

There is no set fee for short camping stays at the park. Visitors who camp or use the facilities are asked to leave a donation in the drop box located near the bathhouse. For stays of five days or longer, campers are asked to call 605-724-2245, for a daily rate.

There are two cabins available at the park for camping. Rental rates are $40 per couple and $20 for each additional adult over age 18. Kids stay free! Each cabin has two queen beds and two twin beds along with a small table. Guests must furnish their own bedding. The cabins are climate controlled with heat and air conditioning. A bathhouse is nearby with toilet and shower facilities. If you are interested in staying in one of the cabins, please call Krull’s Market at 605-724-2459.

No one can visit Mitchell without seeing the world's only Corn Palace. Established in 1892 and at its present location since 1921, the structure is stripped each year and decorated anew with murals formed by thousands of bushels of corn, grasses, grains and other products celebrating South Dakota's bounty. The Corn Palace is mentioned in the book 1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die. At the Dakota Discovery Museum, see historic American Indian beadwork and quillwork. Stop by the nearby Cabela's, just minutes away. Then return to your comfortable campground with Tent Sites, Camping Cabins and RV Sites up to 70 feet long. A pool, mini golf and bike rentals keep kids happy. After a stay here, you'll be rested and ready for the road.
