Welcome to Cumberland MD. We have 2 campgrounds in close proximity to each other. Campground # 1 is called THE HILLCREST RIVER CAMPGROUND. CAMPGROUND # 2 is called THE CANAL TUNNEL RIVER CAMPGROUND. They are only 3 miles from each other. Book either location and enjoy both. The campground’s offer camping for RVs and Tents. They are only 1 mile from Canal Place in downtown Cumberland MD. And 5 miles from the Rocky Gap Casino and Resort. They offer Hiking and Cycling on the C and O CANAL NATION PARK , THE GREAT ALLEGHENY PASSAGE and THE KNOBLEY MOUNTAIN TUNNEL TRAIL. They both have Non-isolated, isolated and Super isolated campsites. Firewood, boating, fishing, Swimming, hiking and Cycling is available at both locations.

Campground #1 THE HILLCREST RIVER CAMPGROUND is located at 10410B Cumberland MD. 21502. It is by Tractor World 1/10 mile off of I 68 Exit 45, 2 miles from the National Trails. There are 60 campsites here. Full hookups are available on Five (5) sites for $10.00 EXTRA PER NIGHT. If you want HOOKUPS PLEASE LET THE HOST KNOW. HOOKUPS MUST BE PAID FOR WHEN YOU ARRIVE!! We have a Dump station, A flush toilet and A Hot shower HERE. That is Available in season. There is a unique Pond with a Dock and Canopy. Sorry Fishing is NOT allowed. There are many hiking trails. Be sure to visit the the CLIFF OVERLOOK on one of the trails. There is a Convenient store that is open 24/7.

CAMPGROUND # 2. THE CANAL TUNNEL RIVER CAMPGROUND is located at 1 Elizabeth St. Cumberland MD. 21502. It is on 40 acres off of The Canal Parkway. There are 50 campsites. This campground is along THE NORTH BRANCH OF THE POTOMAC RIVER and the C and O NATIONAL PARK and THE KNOBLEY MOUNTAIN TUNNEL TRAIL. There Is over 1 mile of River frontage and 2 River Islands. There are NO HOOKUPS and Showers here. Portable toilet are available in season. Generators are welcome. This location offers a 5 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom House for short term rental. Yough Lake Campground at Tub Run

Deep Creek Lake State Park is located in Western Maryland’s Garrett County. The park encompasses over 1,800 acres and adjoins Deep Creek Lake Natural Resources Management Area and its 3,900-acre man-made lake. Deep Creek Lake camping lies just west of the Allegheny Front on a large plateau known as the Tablelands or Allegany Highlands. Its location at the southernmost end of Meadow Mountain places it west of the Eastern Continental Divide and within the Mississippi River watershed. The park gets its name from the lake, which was a hydroelectric project, constructed on Deep Creek in the 1920's by the Youghiogheny Hydroelectric Company. The Deep Creek Lake State Park Complex also includes Sang Run State Park and the Youghiogheny Wild River Natural Environmental Area. Deep Creek Lake Camping offers 112 campsites, 26 electrics sites, a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and a wildlife resistant food storage box on each site. They also have heated bathhouses, a dump station, freshwater fill up spot, free boat trailer parking, overnight dock slip use, and even some mini cabins and other lodging options! The park itself offers a sandy lakefront area, fishing areas, bathrooms, playgrounds, and hiking and biking trails. All in all, the park encompasses 1,800 acres!!

Two Mini Cabins - The mini cabins sleep six people and have electricity, heat, (no water) and beds. Users must provide their own linens. Pets are not permitted. Includes a picnic table, fire ring and lantern post
One Yurt - The yurt sleeps six people and has electricity, heat, (no water) and beds. Users must provide their own linens. Pets are not permitted. Includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post
Bear Den - A three sided Adirondack-style shelter with the open side facing out into the forest (Site 72). Includes a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, wildlife box, stone fire place and raised sleeping platform

Deep Creek Lake State Park

## Overview

The Outflow Camping Area is located on Youghiogheny River Lake in the heart of the Laurel Highlands. The lake spans the Mason-Dixon Line between Pennsylvania and Maryland. Clean waters, forested mountains and steep-sided valleys provide an unsurpassed setting for recreational opportunities.

## Recreation

Camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking, biking, picnicking and sightseeing are the area's most popular activities. Boaters consider Youghiogheny River Lake, with its 16-mile length and channels up to one-half mile wide, the best powerboating and water skiing lake in southwestern Pennsylvania.   
  
Youghiogheny Lake's outflow area is renowned for its excellent trout fishing and is stocked from April to September each year. A fishing pier is located in the campground.

## Facilities

The campground contains a variety of sites, including walk-to group sites, RV sites and tent-only sites. Electric hookups are available in many sites. Flush toilets, showers, drinking water and a dump station are provided. The park also offers an amphitheater and children's playground. Hammock Stations have been added to the Bike and Hike and Group Camping sites.

## Natural Features

The country surrounding the lake is made up of narrow valleys and high rounded hills with steep slopes. Much of the land is covered with northern hardwoods including Beech, Sugar Maple, White Ash, Yellow Poplar and Basswood.   
  
  
A variety of wildlife makes its home around Youghiogheny River Lake, including deer, bear, turkey, grouse, rabbit and squirrel.

## Nearby Attractions

Some of Pennsylvania and Maryland's finest state parks surround Youghiogheny Lake. Ohiopyle State Park is known for some of the best whitewater in the East and is often the location of national kayaking competitions.  
  
Cyclists enjoy the many miles of bike trails in the area. For the history buff, the area boasts many historical sites and parks. For sheer natural beauty, Youghiogheny Lake can't be beat.
