Best Dog-Friendly Camping near White Oak, PA

Raccoon Creek State Park Campground offers dedicated pet-friendly camping loops with electric hookups. Loops F and B welcome pets, though only some sites in F provide electricity. The campground features clean facilities, spacious sites, and fire rings at each location. Mountain Top Campground and Washington-Pittsburgh SW KOA also accommodate pets with full hookup options. Sites at Raccoon Creek can be challenging to level, requiring blocks for campers, while the pet-friendly areas typically have less privacy than the non-pet sections. The sites are big, wooded, and all close to bathrooms with hot showers. Pets must remain leashed throughout the campgrounds, with designated exercise areas available at several locations.

Hiking trails connect directly to many campgrounds, with Raccoon Creek offering a convenient trail to the beach area from the pet-friendly D loop. The park provides numerous hiking options that aren't too strenuous, including a 10-mile trail around the lake where dogs can accompany their owners. Keystone State Park and Ohiopyle State Park both feature pet-friendly camping sections with access to outdoor recreation. Seasonal considerations affect availability, with most campgrounds operating from spring through fall, though Mountain Top Campground remains open year-round. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, particularly near beach areas where birds are plentiful. Campers report that pet-friendly loops sometimes develop a party atmosphere on summer weekends, while weekdays offer significantly more peace and quiet for those camping with dogs.

    Hickory Hollow Campground

A new favorite quick getaway for me and the wife

This campground checks all our boxes. Beautiful scenery, quiet location, spacious campsites, full RV hookups, well-placed fire rings, dog park, nice large bathhouses, polite staff, and Wi-Fi that works.

This is located about an hour away from my home, so we plan on making this our go-to for quick camping getaways throughout the year.

Highly recommended. Definitely worth checking out.

Rose Point Park Cabins & Camping

    Family and pet friendly

OverLl great campground. The sites are a little close together but we still enjoyed our time there. Staff is super friendly and there was plenty for the kids to do, pool, arcade, fishing, and playground. Decent size dog park to let your dogs run and decent trails nearby.

Rose Point Park Cabins & Camping

Amenity and Pet Friendly, but Where are the Kids?

Good location for outdoor and city experiences, along with a relaxing getaway. Workers and permanent campers are very friendly with all the amenities necessary on site, including nice dog park. A small campground that didn’t have many kids for ours to play with during our visit. In addition, hill keeps permanent campers separate from temporary campers.

    Raccoon Creek State Park Campground

    Pet friendly campsite, with electric

While most of the campgrounds in the park are no pets- there are 2 loops that allow your furry companions! Loop F includes electric spots! Loved seeing the 'neighbors' dogs get excited and curious when I walked my 4-legged best friend around the site. Clean area , close to a modern bathroom (a few stalls & even 2 showers!) Looking forward to going back at the end of the month.

    Washington-Pittsburgh SW KOA

    Awesome staff!

Very conveniently located off the interstate. Follow the signs to the campground NOT the GPS in order to avoid some narrow and sharp turn roads. Staff were super friendly! Front desk staff were knowledgeable and and helpful. We had some issues with our power, and Larry was at our site within minutes to fix it. Big open dog park! There are only a few shaded spots. Spot width was a little narrow where we stayed (on the hill), but perfect for a quick overnight stay. Bathrooms were fairly clean, laundry was nice. The pool looked very well maintained.

    Hickory Hollow Campground

    Soooo spacious!

I was the only tenter at the time of my stay; had the whole place to myself. The sites are spread far apart and wooded. Table and fire rings are at each site. They have a brand new bath house which was spotless and a well kept dog park for the furs. If desired, there is a group campsite and the use of a pavilion too. The camp store if beautiful and has everything in it should you forget something. I’ll definitely be back.
