    Hebo Lake Campground

    Favorite Place to Get Away

This is my favorite place to get away with my two daughters. The sites are well spaced with a lot of plant life between them to provide some privacy. There is a path that goes around the small lake, and if you time it right the fishing is great.

Definitely missing Angie but we have so many fond memories she still brings joy to our lives. we were without a dog for several years and we were afforded the opportunity to adopt a standard poodle last year and he has been the joy of our lives, so keep in mind you can bring another wonderful friend into your life, @block blast

    Beachside Oasis

Had a nice one night stop at this RV Park that had about 12 sites that were lined up along the coast. Had a couple other levels with direct views of the ocean, but you were packed in side by side with other RV’s. There are other sites that are a little more divided in some wooded areas. Full hookup with showers, Laundry etc.

    Mt Hebo Lake Dispersed Campsite

One free spot across from lake

One spot with its own driveway. A nice flat and private spot. A legit pack in pack out spot. Too bad there is trash everywhere and a big puddle on one side. If you have a rake and shovel then may be a good one day or 14 day spot after a few hours of TLC. Nice trails for walking.

    Camp across from Horse Trailhead

Coordinates 45.230277,-123.777780. Across street from Horse Trailhead about half way up Mt Hebo. A good flat spot with nice trails around. Too much trash and glass left at the site though.

    Nearly froze

We stayed in a yurt over Christmas and the heater in the Yurt did not heat sufficiently. We tried to get it fixed by staff but there wasn’t anyone who could help.

We were near the lift station and the alarm was sounding off throughout our stay. Also no one remedied this.

Clean, well maintained. Love the fog horn in the distance. Nice easy trails, many paved. I prefer a little more space between me and my neighbors.

Great location as it is across the street from the beach. It is as simple as the other two next to it and half the price! Bathrooms are clean and showers are decent. Nice helpful camp host.

    Not a place

I dove thru. Told not welcome. 2+ year wait list to live there. Asked if I could just pay to park somewhere safely in there as a single woman, in her 40's, just to stay in my car and watch TV on my own cell service in my car? I was told no. I told them I didn't want to live there tonight, I was looking into rv living and feeling out what the lifestyle is about. Currently just a "leave no trace overnight sleep".

    Nope.

Met a couple residents and park attendant/host and this is NOT A PLACE TO STAY.

Looks like some kind of laundry area and possibly 1 shower stall. CHeesy (some kind of 1/4 height saloon town cutouts) hostile, rude, unfriendly, and discriminating. Best to move straight past it.

    Nehalem Falls Campground

Group site rental mid week stay

This small campground is very far off the 101 so if you are looking for a coastal vibe this is not it. Deeply wooded, green, and beautiful. One side of the campground sits alongside Nehalem river access, on hot days this is a popular hangout so expect to see a lot of people. Vault toilets after a busy summer season were ammonia rich and hard to handle. Trash receptacles and potable water available. (Old school pump) I’ve heard that it stays wet enough back there that this campsite never really has a fire ban, but always check with the camp host, they also sell fire wood. First come first serve campsites Using reserve America online. Do Not confuse this campsite with Nehalem Bay State park when reserving.

    VERY close to neighbors

I believed I had my lighting situation under control, not bright and off at an appropriate time, but when I woke up the next morning, my neighbor said I had offended the stars with my toxic and harsh LEDs. Can’t win em all 🤷‍♂️

    Space was overbooked

Jim did a great job of communicating and was attentive to all the campers, but they ended up overbooked so we were moved away from the river and into an open field. With no hookups and lacking riverfront, the night seemed over-priced. With van life on site and a full campground, it didn’t have the quiet feel we expected.

    Don’t stay here

Narrow sites. Old bathroom features. Cat poop everywhere. Even in the middle of the roads and around the fish cleaning station. Saw cats pooping under rvs.  The rabbits are long gone, replaced by loose cats. Mostly long term folks. People at end of row E argue loudly at night. No wifi code  given if you arrive after hours nor code to the bathrooms.  Nice dog yard which is the best feature.

  • Hiking: Many campgrounds, like Beverly Beach State Park Campground, have nearby trails. A camper noted, "The tree cover was fantastic, it was 85 out in the sun but much cooler at the site."

What campers like:

  • Clean facilities: Campers appreciate well-maintained restrooms and showers. One happy camper at Champoeg State Heritage Area said, "The tent sites were clean as well as the bathrooms and showers."
  • Privacy between sites: Many campgrounds offer a good amount of space between sites. A visitor at Devil's Lake State Recreation Area mentioned, "The sites can be a little tight but the use of hedges and trees creates a nice barrier between you and your neighbors."
  • Friendly staff: Campers often rave about the helpfulness of campground staff. A reviewer at Premier RV Resort noted, "The staff was super dog loving and friendly."

What you should know:

  • Busy during peak season: Campgrounds can get crowded, especially in summer. One camper at Beverly Beach State Park Campground remarked, "A beautiful park among dense forest. Full hookups are available only on the main road into the park so expect lots of traffic."
  • Limited amenities: Some campgrounds may not have markets or stores nearby. A visitor at Keenig Creek Campground mentioned, "There were no amenities nearby, so be sure to bring everything you need."

  • Keep an eye on kids: Some areas can be busy, so it's good to supervise children. A camper at Devil's Lake State Recreation Area mentioned, "Very kid-friendly location and the spots are very clean and well managed."

Tips from RVers:

  • Bring your own supplies: Some campgrounds lack stores. A camper at Keenig Creek Campground said, "Just be aware!! people suck. Otherwise, it was a nice little area."
