Best RV Parks & Resorts near Grand Ronde, OR

Several RV parks operate within 30 miles of Grand Ronde, Oregon, providing year-round access for motorhome travelers. Wandering Spirit RV Park, located directly in Grand Ronde, offers big-rig friendly sites with full hookups including 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. The park maintains sanitary dump facilities and accommodates larger RVs with pull-through access. Neskowin Creek RV Resort, situated along Highway 101, features spacious sites with full hookup options and big-rig accessibility throughout the year. Cape Kiwanda RV Resort and Marketplace in Pacific City provides premium RV sites with 50-amp service, water, sewer, and cable TV hookups. "The sites are fairly short and narrow," noted one RV traveler about Premier RV Resort. "Our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV."

Cell service varies significantly throughout the region's RV campgrounds, with travelers reporting between 1-4 bars depending on carrier and specific location. Most parks accept pets but enforce leash requirements, typically limiting dogs to six-foot leads. Seasonal considerations affect availability, with coastal RV parks experiencing higher occupancy during summer months and holiday weekends. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially for larger motorhomes requiring specific site dimensions. Many parks feature on-site amenities including laundry facilities, showers, and camp stores with basic supplies. RV campers should note that some parks prohibit wood fires, permitting only propane fire pits. The terrain at certain locations may require leveling blocks, particularly at parks with gravel pads rather than concrete. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Premier RV Resort does not offer this service.

    Premier RV Resort

    Good Base Camp

Our stay at the Lincoln City Premier RV Resort was good.  The space was clean and the utility hookups were well maintained and functional.  And, staff were very nice and accommodating.  We upgraded to a pull through and in hindsight should not have.  It was close to the road, and many of the trailers in the pull through section appeared to be long term occupants, at least a couple left early in the morning for work and returned in the afternoon.  The location although easy to get both north and south from because it is adjacent to the highway, was in a part of town that seemed a little economically depressed.  I would have rated it higher but for the price, I expected more.  UPDATE  We visited this park for a second time in 2023 and selected a back in site near the north east section of the park and loved it.  We are changing our rating to five stars.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

    Big Buck Campground

A free nice campground to stay at for 10 days.

We camped here again in July. Drive 6 miles up a paved road then 1/2 mile on a dirt road. Spent 5 days in spots RV1 and RV2. They were doing some log pickup close to our spot so during the day it was sort of noisy but after 3PM things got really quiet and peaceful. Trees were very plentiful and keep us cool during the 90* days. We went up the hill to tent site#13 where there was water, but you had to pump your own. The water was very clean and tasty. They had 2 buildings that had pit toilets and 1 port-potty by the day use area by us. We walked a trail beside the day use area that went for about 1.5 miles by on of the creeks. There were many other roads that went to other trails that were longer. All was very quiet except for the cars, trucks and Jeeps that sped down the road by our camp going to the trail to the right from 7PM until 1AM. I have no idea why they were here at all because they we not camping here and drove very fast for a gravel road. Be advised even though there are 15 camp sites only(2) RV-1 and RV-2 are actually designated for motorhomes and travel trailers under 32 feet in length. Most all other sites are up a steep road but can accommodate very small RV's but mostly tent camping area. Little to no cell service right at the base of the campground. Just a 1/2 mile back to the asphalt road there is 1 bar at the very least. This campground is 6 miles up a small paved road from Grand Ronde then a half mile on a gravel road in a heavily wooded area to the first RV camp site#1 and#2.

Port of Newport RV Park & Marina

    Pricey for parking lot camping!

This place offers a regular RV park for something around $80/night, or dry camping for about $40/night. The dry camping area is literally a parking lot, but you have a nice view of the marina and also it’s really nice to be this close to town so we stayed here for a night. You’re sharing a parking lot with Rogue brewery and distillery, which is very cool. You’re also walking distance to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, also very cool. The town of Newport is cute and fun and there are many interesting and cool shops to browse, and many of them are dog friendly.

We didn’t use any of the amenities here, but we were told there is wifi and showers. There were dumpsters (no recycling), and a free dump station for campers. There was non-potable water at the dump station, but I am sure they would also let you fill your tanks with potable water.

    Seal Rocks RV Cove

    It's All About the View

This was our second time here, and we enjoyed the first so much we decided to spend a month over Christmas to watch storms and hopefully see the whale migration. As Seal Rocks RV Cove is right off US-101, you take the second left at the sign if you are coming from the south. Per our instruction email, we headed straight to back-in site 18 with FHUs. Since we were going to be here a month, we fiddled more than normal to position our 40’ 5th wheel into position. Otherwise, this is a fairly easy back-in. Most of the positioning was to get more center on the gravel pad because there are tall hedges on both sides. This is a nice privacy feature in most sites. The water pressure was around 60 psi, so we used a reducer. Water and electric are more centered on the site. Site 18 has a great view of Seal Rock and the ocean. Another great feature of these sites is that the utilities are on both sides for back-ins like us, and Class As and Bs can pull in forward. We needed about 15’ of sewer hose with the back-in connection. The $45 nightly rate was based on an off-season monthly rate, and we did not have to pay extra for electricity. We had one bar on Verizon, which was usable for phone calls. We got a clear shot of the NW sky for Starlink. There wouldn’t be a problem for a southern shot as well. There’s a fire pit and picnic table at the back of the site. There’s a small fenced dog park and a beach trail path that leads out of the RV park to Hwy 101 to get to the beach trail. The park WiFi was pretty good, but there were not many campers here this time of year. The park managers are friendly and accommodating, and they enforce their rules. Two in particular were dogs on six-foot leashes and no LED lights at night. We were lax with our dogs because the park was empty, but they quickly reminded us of the rule. As you are right off US-101, there is road noise, but it quiets down at night. Seal Rocks RV Cove doesn’t have a laundry, but there’s one nearby in Waldport and two in Newport. There is so much to do and see in this area. We spent a month and still didn’t get everything done we wanted to do."

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Blue Ox RV Park

Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth

This is the happiest place on RV Earth! What a beautiful park! Amazing trees of every kind and flowers and bushes all cared for meticulously. Great wi-fi. Management is exceptional! Indoor pool, multiple laundry rooms, rec room - all spotlessly clean. Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture. We are putting this on our A list and will return whenever we're passing through this area again. Two bars of 5G Verizon. Beautiful city soccer fields and park just outside the entrance to the park. Great place to walk and relax. Recommend.

    South Beach State Park Campground

Awesome Location, Great Walking/Bike Path, Great for Kids!

What a great spot. You can now book online. Great for families. You can easily walk to the beach. Awesome paths for walking or biking. I would tow the kids around in a bike cart and we could ride up and down the pathway, under the Newport Bridge (it's safe), to the Jetty and near Rogue Brewery!! Love this spot. Good public bathrooms, power and water hookups. Dump station there but no sewer at your camp site (only draw back), otherwise it is awesome!! The outer edges of the loops are better for bigger RVs, travel trailers.

Guide to Grand Ronde

Camping options near Grand Ronde, Oregon stretch across diverse terrain between coastal routes and the Coastal Range mountains. Campers will find a mix of privately owned RV parks and resorts within 30-45 minutes of town. Temperatures range from 40-80°F throughout the year with higher precipitation from November through March.

What to do

Beach access activities: Just 45 minutes west of Grand Ronde, Thousand Trails Pacific City offers convenient access to ocean recreation. "The ocean is a 5 minute walk from the site and you can rent sandboards to ride down the dunes of Cape Kiwanda (it's a serious workout!)," notes Ryan E. The nearby beach allows vehicles with proper permits, making equipment transport easier.

Fishing opportunities: Coyote Rock RV Resort provides river fishing access directly on the Siletz River. "It's right on the river and there are cute little otters that like to show off for the guests," reports Christie U. The resort offers boat rentals and crabbing packages for guests without their own equipment.

Casino entertainment: Logan Road RV Park connects campers to gaming facilities at Chinook Winds Casino. "Easy walk to the beach. You can also stay over in the casino parking lot designated for RVs without hook ups. If staying at casino lot, you need to register for a players card, play and redeem points for RV stay," explains Christy S.

What campers like

Indoor swimming options: Neskowin Creek RV Resort maintains heated indoor pool facilities for year-round swimming regardless of coastal weather. "Indoor swimming. They often do pot luck dinners," notes Jeff P. This amenity proves particularly valuable during wet or chilly coastal conditions.

Wildlife viewing: Several campgrounds near Grand Ronde feature resident wildlife. At Pleasant Valley RV Park, visitors enjoy "domesticated bunnies. Counted 35 one evening," according to Bonnie A. The park also includes a dog park for pets to exercise safely.

Beach proximity: Sea and Sand RV Park offers direct oceanfront sites with unobstructed views. "The entrance to the oceanfront terraced sites will take your breathe away! Wooded sites are also available," shares Colleen T. The park includes multiple levels of ocean-facing sites at different price points.

What you should know

Cell service limitations: Digital connectivity varies significantly throughout the region. At Cape Kiwanda RV Resort, Dana O. reports: "No cell service, so be prepared." Many campgrounds offer WiFi as compensation, though connection quality varies.

Reservation requirements: Advance booking becomes essential during peak season. "We have been coming here for over 20 years... We love walking across the road to the Pelican Brewery and watching the dories being launched and coming in for the day," explains Dean at Cape Kiwanda RV Resort, highlighting why some guests book a year ahead.

Site leveling challenges: At Logan Road RV Park, Steven V. notes: "My paved spot was not level." Many RV parks in the region require leveling blocks due to terrain variations, especially at parks with gravel rather than concrete pads.

Tips for camping with families

Swimming amenities: Neskowin Creek RV Resort provides structured children's activities beyond just swimming. According to Anthony G., "Bathroom facilities were clean, pool was clean had a bunch of activities for kids to do my daughter loved it."

Playground access: Premier RV Resort maintains play areas and common spaces designed for families. "It was wonderful stay... There were little dog fenced areas, which is super thoughtful. The tv park so beautiful planted, reception has this cosy communal area with kitchen, living room (books dvds games TV)," notes Gintare.

Wildlife interactions: Multiple rv sites near Grand Ronde include resident animals. At Thousand Trails Pacific City, Neil B. shares: "This is a nice quiet campground that is spread out. Bunnies are great to watch. Close to drive on beach which is nice when you have kids."

Tips from RVers

Site dimensions: Some RV parks near Grand Ronde offer limited space between sites. At Camper Cove RV Park, emily reports: "We got a spot for our rv on 'the cove' side and it was much more campground than rv park, cute and nestled into the woods around a small river and a couple trails... very cute and fairly spacious sites."

Laundry facilities: Many campgrounds provide on-site laundry options. Premier RV Resort includes "clean laundry room," according to Gintare, which saves longer-term travelers from seeking out laundromats in town.

Pull-through availability: Certain RV parks feature easier access sites. Pleasant Valley RV Park offers convenient pull-through access for larger vehicles. Dave B. notes: "Easy access on and out, most sites are pull through. Sites are close."
