      Cross Creek Camping Resort

Big Resort with lots of trees

This is a RV resort close to a lake with a lot of seasonal campers. It is busy on the weekend but was very quiet during the week. The sites are close, but not unreasonably close. Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Pool looks nice, was not open yet for the season.

      River Trail Crossing

      Nice little campground

River Trail Crossing is privately owned, small campground (which we like) but nice and quiet. Sites include tents, small rigs and large pull through sites for big rigs. Sites located on the river are water and electric. Sites off the river have 50 amp and 30 amp. State route 95 runs to the right of the campsite so if you reserve any sites on the river (right side) you will have some traffic noise from the bridge. We reserved spot 32, farthest site to the right on the river. We loved it. The river was only about knee to hip deep. Most family’s floated with tubes and saw some kayaks. Not much for fishing at this particular section of the river. There is a paved bike/walking trail behind the campground - B&O trail. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. They do have 2 dumpsites available. We really enjoyed this campground, owners were very friendly and offer firewood and propane if needed. Mohican state park is only 10-15 minutes away which is really nice for hiking and fishing as well. We will be back!

      Excellent Campground!

Cross Creek Camping Resort in Delaware, Ohio is a very nice campground with friendly staff and lots of amenities! There are large back-in and pull-thru sites, each with grass, tree, picnic table, and fire pit. They are 30/50 amp with FHU. The campground has lots of fun things for the family such as swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis, dog run, laundry, yard games, and so much more! The store is stocked with snacks, souvenirs, clothing, camping supplies, holiday decor, etc. We love the large shade trees at every site. It is a blessing on those hot summer days. All in all, a great campground! Check it out when in the area. 👍🏻😉

      Berkshire Campgrounds

      Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

      Tree Haven Campground

      Great first RV experience.

Great little campground. My wife and I spent a month out there in a fifth wheel to see if we like the lifestyle. Very nice pool(clean). Great walking trail back through the woods. Pet friendly and the bathrooms were very nice. Well....I guess we did! We are now in a search for a Diesel pusher to go full-time!

      Alum Creek State Park Campground

Beautiful State Park close to Columbus Ohio

Alum Creek State Park is a beautiful park and great campground just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Columbus and minutes away from attractions such as the Columbus Zoo.

The campground has good sized sites and is wooded throughout with clean bath houses, well maintained roads, and easy access for big rigs.

There is also a very nice dog park in the park including dog beaches with lake access for your pups to swim.

We love this campground and the beautiful lake and appreciate the easy access to local attractions, shopping, and more.

The area sits at elevations between 850-950 feet above sea level and experiences distinct seasons with summer highs reaching 85°F and winter lows dropping to 20°F. Camping availability varies significantly by season, with most RV parks operating from early May through mid-October.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Delaware State Park Campground features multiple lake access points with a no-wake zone in the northern portion ideal for anglers. "There is a trail down the back of the campground that goes down to a place for boats to dock on the lake," notes Joshua E.

Biking trails: River Trail Crossing provides direct access to the paved B&O trail from the campground. "Bike trail access right from the campground. Golf nearby, Amish shops, canoeing. Great area to visit," reports Bob M.

Water activities: Cross Creek Camping Resort connects to nearby lakes with options for swimming and kayaking. "Whether you have an RV, tent, or looking to hammock camp, they can help you out," mentions a visitor who appreciated the diverse camping options.

Storm shelter access: During severe weather, Delaware State Park provides clearly marked storm shelters. "I also noticed that they had a nice storm shelter on the property that was well marked and easy to get to from any of the campground areas," writes Marshall P.

    What campers like

Privacy between sites: Delaware State Park receives praise for its thoughtful site layout. "The best thing about this campground is the fact that all the sites have privacy," writes Maddy B., who visited in October. "The 'pod' layout of the campground made for large campsites with good separation between sites."

Well-maintained facilities: Sunbury/Columbus North KOA Holiday keeps their amenities in excellent condition. "The bathroom's nice. Even have hand dryers in most of them. And baby changers," according to Gary G. who also noted, "Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5G) seems good throughout the entire park. Best Wi-Fi I've ever had at a campground."

Kid-friendly activities: Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort provides multiple recreation options. "Fun location just off the highway. Perfect for a family, has swimming pool, putt putt, and other child friendly activities... also has small fishing pond," states Buck B.

Seasonal events: Many campgrounds host themed weekends throughout the season. "We were there for the Halloween weekend and it was amazing," shares Lauri C. about her experience at Cross Creek Camping Resort. "They also have themed-event weekends, which are really fun!"

    What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most RV parks in the area close for winter. River Trail Crossing operates from "May 1 to October 16" and Sunset Springs RV Resort runs from "May 1 to October 15" according to their seasonal information.

Site leveling requirements: Prepare for potentially uneven terrain at some campgrounds. At Cross Creek Camping Resort, "The site is not level and our leveling system has the front wheels off the ground," reports Brenda M.

Road noise considerations: Some riverside sites experience traffic noise. "State route 95 runs to the right of the campsite so if you reserve any sites on the river (right side) you will have some traffic noise from the bridge," warns Brian E. about River Trail Crossing.

Rules enforcement: Alton RV Park maintains strict policies. "The owners have rules and they DO enforce 'em. They will guide you to your spot and likely oversee your parking and check set up," observes Sharon J., adding, "as a result it is quiet, grass all in good shape, etc."

    Tips for camping with families

Beach access: Delaware State Park offers swimming areas for children. "We did not swim due to it being in the 60s and rainy during most of our stay but we did go look at the beach it was very clean and appears well cared for," notes Ashley R.

Playground availability: Kokosing River Campground provides lakeside recreation space. "Peaceful and great for kids. Kayaking on the lake is great. Camp staff very friendly and helpful," shares Mark B. who visited during Labor Day weekend.

Kid-specific activities: Sunbury/Columbus North KOA Holiday schedules regular family events. "They had so many activities through the whole Christmas in July weekend, including seeing Santa! Even though we were there on a rainy/70-80 degree weekend, we still struggled to keep the kids at our site," Jennifer K. explains.

Multi-generation appeal: Cross Creek Camping Resort balances activities for various ages. "Kids aged 3-13 all had a blast in the heated pool, on the jump pad and on the zip line swing!" reports one family who appreciated the range of options.

    Tips from RVers

Electrical service options: Delaware State Park offers 50-amp electric service at 212 sites, with water fill stations near the entrance. "There is no sewer or water at individual sites but there is a dump station and water fill station near the park entrance," explains one RVer.

Site size considerations: Cross Creek Camping Resort accommodates larger vehicles with varied site options. "Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly," notes Dave B. However, some visitors find the spacing tight: "After staying in state parks, the narrow sites are close with no privacy. Our pull through site was on the (inner) road."

Overnight convenience: For those passing through, some campgrounds offer easy access. "Tomorrow Stars Campground is an excellent layover off I-70, offering a family-friendly and quiet atmosphere," Jason G. reports, highlighting the "easy in and out pull-through, level sites."

Supply accessibility: While camping near Galena, shopping options remain within reach. "Safe neighborhood with a kroger right down the street," mentions Morgan F. about Alton RV Park's convenient location.
