Best RV Parks & Resorts near Carroll, OH

Several RV parks surround Carroll, Ohio, providing convenient options for motorhome travelers. Lakeview RV Park in Lancaster offers big-rig friendly sites with full hookups including water, sewer, and electric connections. Jackson Lake Park in Canal Winchester features 199 sites with 30/50 amp service, full hookups, and accommodates large RVs on spacious sites. Love's RV Hookup in Lancaster provides a smaller alternative with just 6 dedicated RV sites equipped with electric hookups (both 30 and 50 amp service), water connections, and convenient access to a sanitary dump station. Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds in Logan maintains 130 RV sites with full hookup capabilities. "Pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43' fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material)," noted one RV camper about site conditions in the region.

Most RV campgrounds in the Carroll area remain open from April through October, with limited year-round options. Cell service varies significantly between parks, with stronger reception closer to Lancaster and Columbus. Dump stations are available at all major RV parks, though placement can sometimes require careful maneuvering for larger rigs. One traveler mentioned needing leveling blocks at several parks due to uneven gravel pads. Pet-friendly policies are standard throughout the region's RV parks, though specific restrictions may apply. Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer weekends and fall foliage season when occupancy rates peak. RV campers should note that water hookups at some parks require "fishing" through access pipes to make connections, particularly at older facilities. Proximity to Columbus provides convenient access to propane, RV supplies, and maintenance services within a 30-minute drive from most parks.

    Cross Creek Camping Resort

Big Resort with lots of trees

This is a RV resort close to a lake with a lot of seasonal campers. It is busy on the weekend but was very quiet during the week. The sites are close, but not unreasonably close. Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Pool looks nice, was not open yet for the season.

    Hocking River RV Park

Scenic, easy in/out and on the river

Stayed here 4 nights, pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43’ fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material). Fire rings are not near RV but behind across the road on the river. Bath house is just ok - not great, not gross. Close proximity to lots of hiking but Hocking Hills itself has become so crowded… don’t come if you want to get away from people.

    Hocking Hills KOA Holiday

    Great first time KOA experience

We have never stayed at a KOA before and were very happy with this campground. The staff were friendly and professional, the sites were clean, and there were a wide variety of sites to choose from. From primitive tent sites tucked back in the woods to large RV sites with water/sewer/electric/cable hookups. We are first-time owners of a 29 ft Fifth Wheel and got a pull-through site. It offered little in the way of privacy, which was the only negative about the whole experience. Our site included a fire ring and a picnic table, along with all the hook ups. The night we arrived we were too tired to cook so ordered a pizza from the front office and they delivered it to our site. They also deliver wood directly to you. They escort you directly to your site so you don't get lost or go down a one-way road the wrong way. There was a nice little pool, but it wasn't open for the season yet. The shower houses were immaculate. The front office includes a little gift shop, ice cream, and pizza. This campground was also located close (within a few miles) to all the main hiking trails, and about 12 miles from Logan. The little road going up to the campground is VERY bumpy. It's not the campground road, it belongs to the Township, so its completely out of their ability to make improvements. This was only our second time out in our fifth wheel camper so it was a little scary, but we just drove slow and our truck handled it just fine. We will definitely be back to this wonderful campground as we love Hocking Hills.

    Cross Creek Camping Resort

    Excellent Campground!

Cross Creek Camping Resort in Delaware, Ohio is a very nice campground with friendly staff and lots of amenities! There are large back-in and pull-thru sites, each with grass, tree, picnic table, and fire pit. They are 30/50 amp with FHU. The campground has lots of fun things for the family such as swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis, dog run, laundry, yard games, and so much more! The store is stocked with snacks, souvenirs, clothing, camping supplies, holiday decor, etc. We love the large shade trees at every site. It is a blessing on those hot summer days. All in all, a great campground! Check it out when in the area. 👍🏻😉

    Berkshire Campgrounds

    Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

Guide to Carroll

Camping areas near Carroll, Ohio offer easy access to both city amenities and outdoor recreation. The region sits within the Appalachian foothills at elevations between 800-1,100 feet, creating varied camping terrain. Summer temperatures average 75-85°F with higher humidity levels, while spring and fall camping seasons bring cooler temperatures and colorful landscape changes throughout the region.

What to do

Kayaking on the Hocking River: Visitors at Hocking River RV Park can watch river traffic from their campsites. "This small and cost effective campground is so awesome! The river is small and is perfect to have a fire right next to. We also just went up the highway a little to a rafting rental place called murrys landing to raft down the river," reports Aysia C.

Swimming and inflatables: Jackson Lake Park features a large pond with water recreation opportunities. "The little lake was so much fun. My children were upset we had to leave early due to the storm coming in," notes samantha H. The park also offers a pool during summer months.

Disc golf course: Recreation options extend beyond water activities at some campgrounds. "There is a disc golf course. The nearby town Lithopolis is cute, with some local coffee and dining, as well as antique shops," writes Theresa P. about Jackson Lake Park.

What campers like

Private bathroom facilities: Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds receives praise for cleanliness. "The bathroom/shower facility are private individual units and are the cleanest we have ever seen!" reports Tiffani C.

Kid-friendly amenities: Campgrounds in the area often cater to families with various play options. "There is a nice sized sand ground play set with swings and 2 slides, an air pillow (blob) putt putt, a trail to the lake, a dog run, poop pickup stations, an A/C'd game room and very pleasant staff," notes Mitchell C. about Hilltop Resorts.

Quiet atmosphere: Some campers appreciate the peaceful setting of certain parks. "This is a small, maybe 35 sites, clean well maintained campground. The owners have rules and they DO enforce 'em... as a result it is quiet, grass all in good shape," shares Sharon J. about Alton RV Park.

What you should know

Distance to attractions: While campgrounds provide accommodation, some are located away from main destinations. "You're right off the highway though but a good drive to any of the attractions. We wouldn't stay here again," reports Bryatt S. about Hocking River RV Park.

Bathroom locations: Facility placement varies between campgrounds. "My #1 complaint was the bathroom situation. They were VERY far from the camp area (the one in the arcade room was close but it was closed after 11pm) and the bathrooms they did have only typically had one working stall," shares Jess N.

Site spacing considerations: Kokosing River Campground offers different site configurations. "Nice, small, shaded, well maintained campground. Wasn't crowded when we visited in Sep. but I can imagine when it's full it's a little crowded," notes Shelly S.

Tips for camping with families

Check amenity availability: Family amenities might not always be operational. "I was upset The pool was not open since there was no post about it being closed and the website says it would be open the weekend of Memorial Day," writes samantha H. Call ahead to confirm facility status.

Choose sites strategically: Site selection impacts family camping experience. "I would definitely book ahead and look at the map to find a good spot. Some are very close to neighbors. Others are really nice," advises samantha H. about Jackson Lake Park.

Consider alternative accommodations: Some rv parks near Carroll, Ohio offer cabin options. "I chose to stay in a cabin... for $175, it was a basic cabin with a queen bed and 2 twin bunk-beds, a very small bathroom with a toilet and shower, and a small kitchenette with a microwave, sink, and mini-fridge," shares Theresa P.

Tips from RVers

Water hookup challenges: RV campers report unusual water connection setups at some campgrounds. "The water hook ups were accessible through a hole/pipe and we had to "fish" down to connect our hose," notes Chris C. about Jackson Lake Park.

Site leveling needs: Lakeview RV Park offers level sites for easy setup. "Nice level site we were on. Small swimming lake! Canoe rental and jet pack skiing," reports Robin R. This contrasts with other Carroll area RV sites that may require leveling blocks.

Big rig considerations: Large RVs have specific needs at campgrounds around Carroll. "Staff is very friendly and we got a nice pull through site for a quick stop over my way to upper Michigan. There's a really nice pond and has water activities if you stay longer. Easy in/out," writes Bucky W. about Lakeview RV Park.
