    Holden Beach RV Campground

Great Location Under the Live Oaks Close to Beach

We camped at HBRV the past three nights. We were in site #46. Great site, full hookups, end site so privacy on patio side of RV. Staff was great. People were friendly. Only 2 miles to Holden Beach. Fire pit, firewood for sale. Some long term campers.  Definitely enjoyed our stay.

Great RV park, especially for boaters and families

This is a very clean, modern, and well kept RV park. It’s big rig friendly since many of the sites are pull through with full hook ups. Bath houses are very clean and look brand new. There is a beautiful boardwalk along the Intercoastal Waterway where you can watch the boats pass by. There is also a large pool with massive water slide and a nearby tiki bar. Lots of amenities for kids and a well stocked camp store.

    Willow Tree RV Resort

    Amazing vacation

Best RV Resort we’ve been to so far. Large lots with nice long pull through, clean and quiet with a friendly staff. Amenities included nice swimming pool and hot tub. Volleyball net and basketball hoop on each end of pool. Shuffleboard, corn hole, sand volleyball. Game room had a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey. Books galore to borrow, DVDs if you have a player which we don’t, but we don’t camp to watch TV. Store had a puzzle you could spend time working on and a checkerboard with rocking chairs to just hang out in. The lake beach was closed for the season when we went but the inflatables looked like they would have been fun! Mile long paved path around the lake was great for walking or biking. Catch and release fishing too. Had a mix of annuals, short term campers and on the other side of the lake they had nice cabins and a small park model village. Exercise room and a nice clean laundry room. Bath house was 8 individual doors to full individual bathrooms of toilet sink and shower which were kept very clean. Cherry Grove beach was only 15 minutes or so away and there was a Food Lion less than 10 minutes for grocery shopping needs. Resort store had reasonable prices for ice and wood to burn in the fire pit. Only negatives which weren’t a big deal was nothing can be strapped to trees... aka no laundry line or hammock attached to the trees and no tents allowed. We will go back! Wish it was closer to home.

    Not for us

This isn’t what I think of as an RV Resort. The camp sites are close, no trees or nice landscaping. It’s a parking lot with a pool, wave rider and such on the outside edge. Not even a water view. Kids probably like it, but we didn’t. Way over priced for what it is - and mostly isn’t.

    Myrtle Beach Travel Park

5 stars if you like RV Resorts

Some great spots down by the beach.

We had a nice stay at Myrtle Beach Travel Park in December. The spot we ended up in was 210 which is about as close to the beach as you can get. It was about a 10 second walk from our van and over the dune to the beach. Really amazing spot which made our entire stay there. Our first night there we were in B5. I would not recommend any of the sites that back up against that side of the resort as you are basically backed up to a huge 20 floor hotel. We were near their service entrance so lots of noise and floodlights coming into our site. Things were much better once we switched to 210.

We are not normally RV resort people but this was very handy since we are working full time. Nice to have laundry, a store, and be able to walk to the beach in 10 seconds to take a break from our computers. I only saw one other van during the time we were there- definitely more for large RVs. I’m sure the other amenities would be fun (pool, restaurant, bar, etc) but none of that was open while we were there.

I’m giving this 5 stars because I’m sure if you like large RV resorts, you would love this place. If you prefer dispersed camping in the middle of nowhere, you probably would not want to stay here.

    Wishing Well

    Quiet and Underated

Imagine the cutest grandpa you've ever met opens up a campground for his friends. This is the vibe. I'm a VERY low maintenance traveler. I sleep in my car and shower when I can. I got a tent lot with electric for $40. Compared the the giant RV resorts in the area it's a steal. Hot water with fantastic water pressure. If nature and a couple bugs scare you, feel free to go to one of the resorts. I was 50 feet from the bath house. Toilet space is pretty tight. Right on the edge of the woods. Best to call ahead, I called the morning of. Cash only.

TLDR: Underated. Quiet. Good showers. Cash only.

    Lake Leamon Family Campground

    Good campground, but outdated.

The campground is in a nice area. The small lake is beautiful and full of fish. It is near a small bustling town with everything you need. The staff is friendly.

The only drawback is that the camp itself is outdated. The so-called bathhouses need a severe update. The bathhouse does not have HVAC in it. There’s one male toilet and one female toilet for the entire camp. There are two portable toilets on the back end of the property. There’s one shower of the two that works and it is a small shower. Do not weigh more than 175 pounds going in that shower.

All in all, it’s a good temporary campsite. This is not set up for long-term, even though there are multiple long-term campers here.

    Nice park

    Hidden in Holden

Close to the beach and easy to find backside parking. Do not let the drive deter you, it was an easy daily drive. Had a site next to “permanent bathroom” and trash area. So the smell wasn’t the best towards pickup time. The spots were nicely landscaped and we felt cozy. Lots of long term campers which gave it an odd mobile home vibe though. Photo shows how close we were to bathrooms....

    Barefoot RV Resort

    Clean, fam-friendly, resort camping

Barefoot RV Resort was so CLEAN! Like I mean immaculate. Has 2 pools (one for kids with a slide & lazy river and one more for adults/quieter activities). The pools are in opposite corners of the resort. Bathhouses were new and very clean- water pressure great. Our site was very well kept, easy to use with a grass patch, cement pad & paver fire pit. You are quite close to all your neighbors here, but that's to be expected in Myrtle Beach. Rent a golf cart from Salty's- they deliver it right to your campsite. This was a must have as we used it to get to the beach, shopping/bars in Barefoot Landing, food store and more. Staff were welcoming, informative, accessible & friendly. We would absolutely come back!

    Great family campground

A short 5min drive is all it takes to get to the beach. There's also a Food Lion and a Hardware store just 1mile away for the necessities you may need. Mostly quiet. Only dislike was the security light that was over our camper on site 21. full hook-up, which we only used water/electric. Bathrooms are very nice and clean. Great people!!

    Very well maintained campground

We stayed in the new section with great, full hook up, level, gravel pads and some new grass and landscaping, large new picnic table and fire pit. And a decent amount of space from next door neighbor at an angle. And the bath house has a private toilet, sink and shower- beautifully tiled and maintained. Lovely relaxing weekend. Oh- and a free trolly takes you to the beach and some restaurants.

So Awesome We're Staying Another Month

Pickleball! And there's the bar/lounge, swimming pool, gym, laundry but most of all, space. You're in the south, so friendly folks who give you all the time in the world is a given. Yes, southern hospitality is palpable here. We're just a few miles from the beach, walking distance to a restaurant and or convenience store; crawling distance to Dales Pub across the road. It's like a KOA here, without the big trikes, lake and boats- but there are a couple ponds where the turtles come and go. Highlights for us; 1.) The laundry will run off an app on your phone. 2.) The pool and patio is truly awesome; we hang there almost every afternoon(weather permitting). 3.) Did I mention pickleball?! Downsides? Well, there is the price, but that's relative. We're getting a$1200.00 monthly rate which makes it do-able. Sometimes, when the winds blow out of the east, every camper smells the sewage treatment plant across the back fence- Check Google maps satellite view. Truth be told, it is rare, only a few days out of the month. The large majority of the time we get the cool coastal breeze. We camped at Oceans RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

5 miles from Kindred Spirit Mailbox

I came to this campground because of its location about 5 miles from Kindred Spirit Mailbox on Bird Island.

The campground was quiet. All the guests were quiet, but friendly.

Water and electric hook-up, laundry on site, showers and toilets behind the camp store office. Great cement picnic tables/benches!

Not close enough to beach unless you have a car or bikes. Parking lot near beach is $10. Pool clean; ice and firewood on premises for sale.

Dump station near entrance/exit. Road into camp is incredibly narrow. 2 vehicles can’t fit; one has to pull over to the side to let another pass by.

This campground used to be a KOA but now it is a Good Sam camp. The road is still named KOA. Address is 7200 KOA Drive, Sunset Beach, NC 28468 (910)579-7562.

    Carolina Beach State Park Campground

    beach + camping = awesome

Carolina beach state park is one of my favorite places to go in North Carolina. Not only does it have an awesome campground, but it's right near one of the best beaches I've ever been to. The sites are nice and secluded, just how I like them. Most of the sites are tent sites, but they have a few full hookup sites for RVs and some cabins to rent too. All of the sites have picnic tables, fire rings, and drinking water.

Within the park, there are tons of hiking trails through a really beautiful area. I hear the fishing is also really good within the park, but I've never done it myself. The only downside is you can't swim within the park, because the currents can get dangerous. The beach is only like 5 minutes away though, so not really a big deal.

As for the beach, it's my favorite one to go to in the states. I like it because it's not really touristy like the outer banks or myrtle beach. Not a whole lot of people come to it, so it's always pretty secluded and clean. In July, the water temperature is perfect, the waves are nice, and it's great all around.

    Awesome spot in NC.

    A very nice camp

The staff is a big help. When I made my reservation, I got a call back to see if I had any questions. The lady at check-in led me to my site and even helped direct me backing in. There is a small camp store with"essentials". We are only a few miles from the beach. The sites have full hook-up, fire pits, and picnic tables. Not a new place so lots of great trees for shade and to block the sea breeze. There are a few full timers. You get a lot for your nightly fee. I recommend this place for short stays and vacations. Check the web site or call for specific questions. They are eager to assist.

    Family Fun Camping!

This campground is perfect for families! Had a blast with all my young cousins participating in all the daily activities. Highlight of the trip was one of the bears Cindy riding around on a fire truck. Sites are very nice! Concert pads, full hook-ups. They even have family quad sites that seemed fun for reunions. My only complaint is that there is NO SHADE by the pool areas. Tried to bring a small easy up to set up but we had to take it down as it is a wind hazard. Just be advised that you have to have a personal umbrella if you’d like shade by the pool. Other than that, everything is very clean and nice! Creamery and mini golf are also a plus and fun! Kiddos also enjoyed the laser tag.

    Holden Beach RV Campground

    Quiet, cozy and relaxing

My wife and I were looking for a place to escape for a couple of days. We found this campground and decided to go. This place is wonderful. The sites are far enough apart you don’t get interrupted by the neighboring campsites but the campground isn’t so big you have to drive everywhere. We had a shaded site, which most of the sites there are shaded, it had full hook ups and a fire ring. The staff was helpful and very easy to approach about any issues that would come up. There is a playground for kids and I could see our kids riding their bikes around with no issues at all. It is very short ride to the beach and there is a grocery store, ice cream shop, and a few restaurants nearby. I cannot wait to go back. We stayed at site 4.

    Myrtle Beach Travel Park

    Good for the price

This is a pretty good RV park the Myrtle Beach area is one of our favorite places to go to RV parks and this is one of the ones that offers the ability to rent golf carts and also go close to the beach you still have to hike a little bit it's not as close as Pirate Land or the one that has the pier but it's pretty close it has a nice pool and it has some good facilities. We did have some issue getting delivery here as they wouldn't let the doordash drivers in we had to meet them at the gate.

Bathrooms: 4/5 clean but no AC so it smells a bit like pee the time

Sites: 3/5 super close no cable just water electric and sewer

    Pools: 5/5

Beach: 3/5 good but not as close as it should be for the price

    Waterfrontness: 1/5

Closeness to other sites: 1/5 you are up each other's buttcracks

    Dog rating: 4/5

Internet: no provided internet but we were able to use our ATnT hotspot router

Cell service: 5/5 Google Fi & ATnT worked

Water quality: 2/5 definitely beach water.

Extra amenities: Golf cart rentals, kayak rentals, paddle boat rentals, bike rentals, scooter rentals, fishing rod rentals, iced by, laundry facilities, Putt-Putt.

    Seahaven Marine RV Park

    Friendly & Clean

This is a nice, small RV park located beside a marina just outside the gates of Camp Lejeune. There are some permanent sites, tiny homes, and everyone is very friendly. You can fish off the dock. No fancy amenities but a great place to stay for a few days.

    Briarcliffe RV Resort

Fantastic location for a great price

We stayed at briarcliffe for a few nights at the end of June. Our site was concrete but in no way level, we had to use our leveling blocks to keep our auto leveling system from lifting wheels on our class c. The sites were a little cramped but the park itself was very well maintained. We felt very safe there with a toddler as it is gated access. What we really loved was the location which is within walking distance of barefoot landing. So nice to have dining and shopping right next to your RV park. This park has a ton of rules with fines to go along with them, but don’t be alarmed they are all completely reasonable and are there to maintain the look and feel of the campground. Would absolutely stay again!

    Carolina Beach State Park Campground

    Nice campground

We camped here in February, so only certain sites were open - those for Rvs which had water and electricity and to our surprise sewer hookups, Which is a good thing because the bathhouse in our section was under renovation and only a port-a-potty available (this was not mentioned on the website or in any of our reservation emails). Despite that, it’s a very nice, wooded area with very spacious sites. Lots of hiking options and trails in the area, and a small marina to put in. We were there in February so didn’t avail ourselves to the beach area. Level gravel/stone pad with a nice picnic table and fire ring. We bought firewood from the store at the marina when we checked in, but were greatly disappointed to find out it was too wet or unseasoned to burn. We tried, even used lighter fluid, and no go. A waste of $8.00. Buyer beware! Buy your wood someplace else before you arrive.

Camp Ipecac Group Camp — Singletary Lake State Park

    Nice spot for family/friends gathering

This is a spacious group camping area; You can rent some cabins and/or rent RV spots so if you have a mixed camping family, so came come in their rvs/trailers and others can rent a cabin and y'all will still be next to each other.  The park is on the smaller size but has a few hiking trails that are very nice.  It also has a trail that goes around Singletary lake!  The lake is awesome, great kayaking and fishing!  The area is just away from White lake and Elizabethtown to be secluded and private but close enough to get what you need from the Walmart or Food Lion in town!  There are also a decent number of "hometown" restaurants in town if you want to go out to eat!  Georgio's is awesome!

    Surf City Family Campground

    Located right on the beach

The spots are very close together. There is no shade, but a constant beach breeze.

You can not see ocean from the campground due to the dunes, but it is about 300 feet to the water.

The owners are very nice. He will even help park your rv with his tractor.

Same price for full hookups verses no sewer. You will have to go across the street to their other campground to dump and there is no water for rinsing, only a sewer drain.

The public bathroom stalls only go as high as shoulder level.

    Wilmington KOA

    Near the beach.

Wilmington  Koa is a nice campground with full hookups and all the "stuff" for the family to enjoy. It has a large pool, but no kiddie pool. They are working on the bathhouses so its a work in progress. Even so they are nice. The showers are very small, but useable. The location is near just about everything. The main road turning into the place can be jammed with traffic at times. The state has been building a bypass for the past 10 years and its still not finished. The camp spots are very spacious and the hookups are easy to get to. The workers are always friendly and willing to help. They have a nice dog park. We have stayed there numerous times and always have a good time.
