Carolina Beach State Park offers cabin rentals within wooded sites located 6 miles from a Food Lion grocery store. The cabins feature spacious sleeping areas with varying layouts, including options with double beds in front rooms and bunk beds in separate areas. Visitors need to bring their own linens, pillows, and cooking supplies, as most furnished cabins don't include these items. The cabins provide shelter from coastal weather and connect visitors to nearby trails and water access points.

What you should know

Pet policies: Some cabins restrict pets entirely while others welcome them. "We have dogs and there are nice places to walk along the pond, and grass areas all around the campground. The dog park is nice for some off leash time," shares Maya C. about Brunswick Beaches RV Resort.
Tips for camping with families
Water activities for kids: CarrollWoods RV Park provides family-friendly swimming options. "There's a pool that was unfortunately out of service during most of our visit there during the 90-degree heat," mentions Nancy C., but adds that most facilities are well-maintained.
Child-friendly rental layouts: Many cabin options feature family-oriented floor plans with separate sleeping areas. "We tent camp here around $30 a night for a tent site...we recently reserved a camp cabin for a week this summer," shared one visitor about the value compared to beach accommodations.
Playground access: Some sites include dedicated play areas. "We spent 9 days and really didn't want to leave. There were a variety of things to do. The pool, the winery, a couple of trips to the beach and surrounding area," notes Sheri F. about CarrollWoods.
Educational opportunities: Take advantage of nature programs available at several parks. "Love visiting this park. The rangers do such a great job with the sites! And the location is awesomeness. Tons to do!" shares Frankie M. about Carolina Beach State Park.
Tips from RVers
Site dimensions: Many cabins share facilities with RV areas, so understanding the layout helps. "Level spacious sites, most with a good shade tree, allows for a quick set up," reports Robert T. about Wilmington KOA.
Rental alternatives: When RV hookups are full, cabins provide comfortable alternatives. "There were a variety of things to do. The pool, the winery, a couple of trips to the beach and surrounding area. We were well received," shares Sheri F. about her family's experience at CarrollWoods.
Seasonal considerations: Different facilities operate on varying schedules throughout the year. "This is by far our favorite place to camp so far. Great family fun in the lake on inflatables. Family events, ice cream social, hot dog sales, dance party and nice clean bathhouses," writes Wendy M.
Weather preparation: Cabins offer protection during coastal storms. "From checking in until packing up to leave, my three night stay was very pleasant and restful. I disperse camp usually, but having the advantage of a very well maintained bathhouse was super nice," notes Steven C.
