Best RV Parks & Resorts near Auburn, NY

Several RV parks are available in the Finger Lakes region near Auburn. Finger Lakes RV Resort in Hector offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service, accommodating big rigs with drive-in access. Shady Shores Campground provides 90 RV sites with electric, sewer and water hookups for both 30-amp and 50-amp service. Owasco Hill RV Campground operates seasonally from May 15 to October 15 with seven sites featuring water, electric, and sewer connections. Sites vary considerably in size and levelness between properties. "We struggled with leveling as our site was 5 inches off over 8 feet side to side, forcing us to park center of site and leaving us on top of our neighbors," noted one Lake Bluff visitor.

Reservations are essential during peak seasons, particularly fall when foliage viewing draws larger crowds. Dump stations are available at most parks, though Port Bay Camping and RV Park lacks this facility despite offering full hookups. Many parks maintain seasonal operations, typically closing by mid-October, with Twilight on the Erie RV Resort running April 15 through October 31. Most campgrounds welcome pets, though specific restrictions may apply. Road conditions around campgrounds vary, with some requiring navigation of rural roads. Lake Bluff RV Park offers a free night's stay after camping six nights in one season. Bath facilities differ in quality and maintenance, with several parks providing shower buildings and restrooms for guest use.

Robert H. Treman State Park Campground

    Good location

Location: This park is close to Ithaca which was the best part. Trails and Natural Features: We loved the waterfall, swimming area (seasonal so closed when we stayed), and the fall colors. Sites: They have very few electric sites so we decided to boondock. It surprised me that all the full hookup sites were reserved but very people actually showed up for their reservations while we stayed. Lame. And heads up that if you don’t stay in the big clearing for big rigs, there are tight turns between trees to get in and out of the non-electric sites. We ended up making a back-in site into a pull-through site… whoops. Starlink: I work remotely so internet is important. We weren’t camping in the clearing because those sites were booked, but even the Starlink struggled where we were and I ended up working from the library in town. So heads up if you need internet. Bathrooms: They were spacious but older. Temperature in the showers was tricky. Hot is cold and cold it hot. Cool stuff: They had compost bins and provide bags for all campers. That’s cool!

    Finger Lakes RV Resort

Beautiful new spacious RV resort in excellent location.

We arrived on Saturday, 10.8.22 and are staying for a week. This is a delightful location. Rachel and Doug are cheerful, attentive, and very personable owners who are on-site at almost all times. This park just opened this year, so we checked in at an entrance building that they're using until their primary building is complete. We were greeted with delicious cookies, our site(#9) backs up to a wooded area(with a hiking path buried in there) with a lot of space. We booked early, which was a good thing because they were 100% full for Indigenous People's Day. We chose this site because there was a lot of room around it and we're used to really tightly packed RV parks. But what we found is that all of the sites are very nicely spread out with generous spacing, so that's not an issue. It's still nice to be on the outskirts. We also chose this section per a review we read to be away from the main road noise, but there really isn't much road noise to worry about, anyway. The WiFi is strong and consistent. We're using 30amps, but they also have 20 and 50amp service to each site. The water pressure is great. The bath house is new and very comfortable. Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring and lots of room for big rigs. We watched Doug neaten up sites after other RV's vacated, which shows an attention to detail we don't often find. They also drive by each site every morning to collect trash and recycling. The sunsets are spectacular over the lake(we can't see the lake from here, but it's close). There are numerous award-winning wineries surrounding us and up and down the lake. We're headed out for tastings today. We've been hiking the last few days- Watkins Glen State Park- Gorge Trail(go early or it gets REALLY crowded), Taughannock State Park- Gorge& North Ridge Trail over on Cayuga Lake, and a concert(Rufus Wainwright) at Point of the Bluff Winery over on Keuka Lake. We stopped afterward for dinner in Hammondsport at Timber Stone Grill which was truly wonderful. That's about 35- 45 minutes away. Lots more hiking trails to do in the National Forest and surrounding areas. And there's Watkins Glen, a charming town just minutes away. We highly recommend Finger Lakes RV Resort and we'll be back!

Blueberry Patch Campground — Green Mountain & Finger Lakes National Forests

    Simple

The only Finger Lakes National Forest designated campground, Blueberry Patch offers a secluded experience in the heart of this sometimes overlooked beautiful geographic region in the State of New York. This campground offers a simple experience, with fire rings and picnic tables at each site and seems to accommodate just tent and small campers. Vault toilets available. On a week day in early summer, 3 of the 9 campsites we’re occupied. Can see it filling up on weekends. Enjoy!

    Keuka Lake State Park Campground

    Wonderful Finger Lakes Camping

Large grassy sites with privacy between the sites. Most sites have a good level gravel pad to park on.

We stayed in the non-electric loop with a small travel trailer, but there are electric sites available. Spigots for water are spaced well enough that with a few lengths you can fill up.

The hike to the beach wasn't too bad through the woods, with ones being a grassy walking path and the other being a dirt trail through the woods. The beach is typically crowded.

This is a place I would always recommend.

    Watkins Glen / Corning KOA

    Don’t waste your money

The website shows pics of a really nice campground but on arrival you’ll find otherwise. We got lucky and got a good site with shade but most sites are tiny and wide open. The full hookups were good, there was a concrete pad and nice fire ring in our site. Otherwise the facility was very poorly maintained, it looked like 20 years ago it was nice but nothing has been done since. The place is truly a dump and for $115 a night I expected a nice place. Incredibly disappointed

Blueberry Patch Campground — Green Mountain & Finger Lakes National Forests

    Quietest Place on Earth

Small and quiet national forest campground, just about 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of both Ithaca and Watkins Glen. We woke up to thrushes singing and fell asleep to nightingales and owls calling!  Sites are basic with a picnic table and fire ring. Two pit toilets and trash/recycling are available, but no drinking water (also no streams for filtering water…so come prepared). Some sites can accommodate longer RV’s and some are perfect for tents.  All sites have quite a bit of shade and privacy as they are lined with trees and shrubs.

The best part about this campground is you are perfectly situated in the heart of the NY wine country!  Seneca Lake is just a couple miles west and has more wineries than you can possibly visit. Our favorite was Catharine Valley Winery…great wine, fun atmosphere, and gorgeous view of the vineyards and lake.

Also, with the help of a local, we found Smith Memorial Park – a great place to launch our kayaks and make some dinner at the beach. Their campground is currently closed for renovations, but there is a boat launch/docks, picnic pavilion, and a lovely view of the sunset.

    No reservations, first-come first served.

Guide to Auburn

Several RV parks near Auburn, New York provide accommodations for recreational vehicles with varying amenities. Owasco Hill RV Campground offers seven sites with electric hookups, fifty-amp service, and water connections, operating from May 15 to October 15. Hejamada Camping Resort in Montezuma features full hookup sites including electric, sewer, and water connections, with access to showers, toilets, and a camp store. Finger Lakes RV Resort in Hector provides big-rig friendly sites with fifty-amp electric service, sewer hookups, and water connections. The sites at these parks vary significantly in size and levelness, with some requiring adjustments for proper setup. "Our site was 5 inches off over 8 feet side to side. To find a spot I could level I had to park center of site, leaving an 8-foot space wide open on hookup side."

Reservations are essential during peak seasons, particularly fall foliage viewing periods from September through mid-October. Many campgrounds close by October 15, though some offer extended season or off-season accommodations upon request. Most parks in the region accommodate pets, but policies vary regarding breed restrictions and leash requirements. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Port Bay Camping and RV Park notably lacks this amenity despite offering sewer hookups at individual sites. Multiple reviews mention challenges with site leveling throughout the region's campgrounds. Seasonal sites occupy a significant portion of many parks, potentially limiting availability for short-term travelers. According to one visitor, "Most of the sites are for seasonal guests so it can be difficult to get a reservation."
