Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Webb City, MO

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Big Red Barn RV Park provides five pet-friendly campgrounds with level, pull-through sites in a quiet, rural setting one mile off the highway. Pets are welcome at all sites with proper cleanup and leash requirements. Camp Mi Casa on the Route RV Park accommodates pets in tent sites, RV spots, and cabins, offering a designated area for dog walks. Schifferdecker Park, Coachlight Campground, and Zans Creekside RV Park also allow pets in designated areas. Most campgrounds maintain standard pet policies requiring leashes, waste cleanup, and supervision. Reviews indicate some sites have grassy areas ideal for dogs, while others offer convenient access to nearby walking paths. The campgrounds typically limit pets to two per site and enforce quiet hours to minimize barking disturbances.

Shoal Creek provides water access for dogs at Zans Creekside RV Park, where many campers enjoy fishing while their pets cool off near the shoreline. Big Red Barn RV Park features an off-leash dog park area that receives high marks from visitors, allowing pets to run freely in a controlled environment. Most campgrounds near Webb City are located within 15-20 minutes of veterinary services in either Joplin or Carthage. Campers report the Big Red Barn's spacious sites offer enough distance between neighbors to minimize pet conflicts. Summer temperatures in the region regularly exceed 90°F, so shaded camping spots are essential for pet comfort. Local parks with walking trails supplement on-site exercise options, though campers should be aware of seasonal tick and flea concerns when hiking with dogs in the surrounding woodland areas.

    Four Oaks RV Park

Goof Transit camping with great staff

Super helpful staff for late check-ins. It is a good RV campsite when you are on the move and need a place to stay near the the high way (a bit noisy with traffic) and traveling with a pet. They have a place for dogs to play.

    Big Red Barn RV Park

Very convenient, super clean and quiet

We overnighted here on the way to Hot Springs, AR.  Convenient to Interstate 49, but virtually no traffic noise and none while inside the van.  We arrived after the office had closed - there was a prominent note on the door as to which site to use.   Electrical hookup was fine - we did not use water or cable.  There were about a dozen other  campers - most appeared to be long termers.  The CG was VERY quiet - very peaceful.  They have an off-leash dog park area which our dogs loved and used it 3-4 times the nite we were there.  The bathrooms were toasty warm and VERY clean.  Lavatory hot water got warm quickly, plenty of soap and towels.  The office has various items for sale, from snacks to RV gear.  Would not hesitate to stay again - in fact, may do so next week on our return trip.

What to do

Fishing access: At Zans Creekside RV Park, visitors enjoy convenient creek access for fishing. "Nice Shady spot overlooking the river. My spot was shaded by black walnut trees. With the sound of the river in the background. Totally relaxing," notes camper Carl E.

Visit historical sites: Route 66 runs through the area, offering access to museums and landmarks. "Near enough to town to enjoy the museum and pop in for lunch, far enough away to feel detached. There's also an old Drive in movie next door!" writes Mychele B. about her stay at Camp Mi Casa on the Route RV Park.

Disc golf courses: Neosho City Campground provides access to extensive disc golf facilities. "This 10 spot campground has water and electric for $12 per night. Although it is a no frills campground it is across the street from a lengthy park with walking trails and a couple playgrounds as well as an active creek which advertises trout fishing on signs along the walking path. There is an extensive disc golf course within this park also," shares camper B H.

What campers like

Spacious RV sites: Many campers appreciate the ample room between sites at Big Red Barn RV Park. "This park has level, pull-through shaded lots and a quiet location. Our group used the rally barn for meetings, and their fire pit for the evening, which were bonus features. The camp host made cinnamon rolls for us on Sunday!" reports Jan S.

Quiet locations away from highway noise: Several campgrounds offer peaceful settings despite being near major roads. "Convenient to Interstate 49, but virtually no traffic noise and none while inside the van," notes Gregg L. about Big Red Barn RV Park.

Social activities: Some parks organize special events for guests. "This RV campground is great for the ones looking for a quiet place to stay for a couple days or longer. They had a 4th of July celebration for the guests!!! I will definitely stay here again in the future!!" shares Dan M.

What you should know

Varied bathroom facilities: Facility quality differs significantly between campgrounds. At Downstream RV Park, amenities are minimal but functional. "Clean, a little grass for pets. Did I mention the first night is free if you register at the Casino and get a players card. Then check in at the store/gas station," explains Jim W.

Reservation processes: Some parks have specific check-in procedures. "We called on our way and the woman said they had plenty of space and since we were arriving after hours to just come in and pick any available spot and pay in the morning," reports Julie F. about Coachlight Campground.

Site preferences: Location within campgrounds matters for comfort. "We booked a spot for a month. The place is well kept and nice. The people in the office are very nice and helpful. I would have rather been in one of the sites closer to the office. As they have nice trees and shade. This is the only reason for 4 stars," mentions John C.

Tips for camping with families

Swimming options: Some campgrounds offer swimming facilities. "We had sewer, water, and electric hookup. A nice dog park, and even found some 4 leaf clovers!" shares Kelsey S. about her family's experience at Joplin KOA.

Playground access: Several parks provide recreational facilities for children. "Across the river is a small playground in addition to the one at the campground," notes Tammy E. about Baxter Springs Riverside Park.

Learning opportunities: Historical Route 66 offers educational experiences. "Makes you want to get an airstream and cruise down Route 66," mentions Mychele B. about the nostalgic atmosphere at Camp Mi Casa.

Tips from RVers

Level sites: RVers appreciate level parking areas that minimize setup time. "We have stayed overnight here twice & love the clean & well maintained campground. The pull-through sites are great for our 40' home, and level enough that it required about 2 minutes to setup," explains Pattie B.

Easy access: Sites designed for larger rigs receive positive feedback. "Convenient location, spacious sites with gravel pads. Good water pressure and reliable electric," notes several reviews of dog friendly campgrounds near Webb City.

Self-contained facilities: RVers should note that some parks have limited utilities. "No tents Allowed. What campground says no tents?!" remarks Kenny L. about Neosho City Campground, highlighting that some facilities cater exclusively to self-contained RVs.
