Tubing from the falls, floating the river by kayak or raft, and fishing along Shoal Creek give Zans Creekside RV Park a clear recreational identity. The campground sits alongside the creek outside Joplin, with sites divided by a road: RV pads with gravel parking, electric, water, and sewer hookups on one side, and open tent camping on the other. Tents get no designated sites, no picnic tables, and no grills, so tent campers should plan accordingly. RVs up to 50 feet can be accommodated.
Shade is plentiful. Black walnut trees cover much of the property, and one reviewer described camping in a shaded spot "with the sound of the river in the background." The host, who goes by Mike or John depending on the visit, has a reputation for being accommodating and can help arrange kayak or raft rentals. Noise is worth noting: road and bridge traffic nearby registers in multiple reviews, and the campground draws a social crowd, especially in summer when locals gather at the river.
Bathroom facilities are functional but basic. There is one indoor shower on the main side, and reviewers have flagged it as dated. Additional outdoor toilet stalls are available. The shower house has been described as consistently clean despite its age. Cameras are posted around the property. Pets are allowed. A roadhouse restaurant sits close by for meals. Reservations are available, and summer weekends fill up with river activity, so booking ahead is advisable for those planning around water access. Campers exploring the area can also browse places to camp around Joplin for additional options.
Description
Zan's Creekside Campground is a family owned and operated park. We offer RV camping, tent sites, and day time access to the river for non-campers.
30 and 50 amp RV Sites are OPEN YEAR ROUND!!!!
All RV sites are naturally shaded by the plentiful supply of tall trees on the campground. Also, all sites are less than a one minute walk to the beach. Popular activities include river tube floating from Grand Falls to our location. Grand Falls is about five minutes away by car, the return float trip takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours (we DO rent tubes, we do NOT provide transportation). Our location is very popular for launching or retrieving kayaks and we provide parking for vehicles left at one end of the trip (we do NOT rent kayaks). Fishing is always an enjoyable pastime here as well.
We offer weekly and monthly rates for both 30 amp and 50 amp RV Sites.
Well behaved pets are welcome. Alligators must be kept on a short leash!!
