Branson Treehouse Cabin & RV Park

      Quiet, Centrally Located, Large Sites

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was the week after Labor Day and was mostly vacant, making for a quiet stay. Love the amenities for kids! The only reason I give 4 stars is the dog policy— it’s very strict, and there isn’t a dog park type area to let pets off leash to play & get energy out.

      Cooper Creek Resort

      Loved our time

Location is easy to find. Love being next to the water! Heard there is a dog park coming this summer. Great place to go if u want to vacation with someone that doesn't have a camper because of the cabins on property. we will be back.

      Springfield - Route 66 KOA

      Great Service But Smaller Sites

Of all the KOAs I have visited I was very eager to check out this one.  Close to Springfield and not to far from the turn off to Wilson Creek Battlefield this one just kinda made sense for a visit.

When I ventured to check it out I quickly noticed that the site spacing was not the best when it came to the RVs, it looked claustrophobic.   When it came to the tent sites I felt a bit more like I could breathe and stretch out.   Kind of strange that this was the case as usually the RV section at a KOA is more accommodating, in my own personal experiences.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the overall amenities were pretty inclusive.   Some of course obvious upgrades coming at additional charges while others were standard.

In true KOA fashion there is WIFI, which I personally always welcome because I work remotely and sometimes do not have the best of signal.    Additionally they had standard features such as a dog park area, playground for the kiddos and a pool, although the pool is not open year round like some.

A few things that were a bit less common however, they had a pet play room which was pretty cool and though I don't travel with my pets found it to be a very friendly touch.    I also noticed that in addition to snacks you could pick up in the store they also had pizza during certain times if you were not wanting to use your own kitchen or the common space camp kitchens.

I was pretty impressed overall but with all the good there were those claustrophobic rv sites I just couldn't get past and the pricing of a KOA always hurts the pockets a bit more even with them being nice and the common kitchen area I was attempting to use and had a few issues, this could have been just when I was visiting so I don't want to completely hold that against them but it was having issued.

      TIPS:

      * Visit Wilson's Creek Battlefield to explore, learn and hike.  When you come to this KOA it obviously does not have any hiking, but the battlefield offers a lengthy system of trails .* Bass Pro's home is Springfield, MO so you will not only find the largest Bass Pro there but also a unique museum of all animals which is quite spectacular.

      Branson Lakeside RV Park

Great RV park right on the river

Great atmosphere and sooo close to the Branson landing for dinner/shopping but also right on the river for a great day on the boat. Just a bit down river from Lily’s Landing (bait shop and a fun stop in for the kids to grab a snack). Walking distance to a park with play ground and two separate dog park areas (one fenced one open). Definitely an “RV PARK” nothing secluded about it if that’s what you’re looking for... very close to neighboring site and even in off season it was packed full the weekend we went. The sites along the river side had great big fire pits too.

      Springfield - Route 66 KOA

      Great place to stay

My wife and our children stayed here in the summer while we traveled for work and we were extremely pleased with both the grounds and the staff. They have great amenities and clean facilities as well as washers and dryers. They were so accommodating. The only drawback is a train close by. They have a small gated dog park and I huge open field. They have a seasonal swimming pool, kids playground, game room and few more things to keep the kids busy. Good WiFi and a shop that sells/makes/delivers pizza to your campsite. We will be visiting again in the future definitely.

      Hide-A-Way Campground & RV Retreat

      Rude, confrontational, overgrown, and trashy

One of the worst parks in Branson. Area is completely overgrown, none of the sites are anywhere near level, and the facilities are in terrible shape. The manager is extremely rude, confrontational, and is almost never on the property. Our first day there I witnessed her in a yelling match with someone, she flicked them off as they left then proceeded to tell me to call the police if I see them again. She also warned us of a homeless camp only a few hundred feet behind the park, so I wouldn’t leave anything out you don’t want stolen. It’s not close to anything other than the touristy things, and it’s absolutely filled with ticks. The trails behind the park are filled with trash and debris, dog park is the smallest one I’ve ever seen. Work Campers beware. I originally came to the park to work, I received absolutely no training, and was told to come in and“play” with their booking software to learn. The manager spoke to me incredibly rudely and as if she was scolding a child. She was incapable of even giving me a time to come in and show me how the system worked. I was given a written list of job responsibilities, and was immediately bombarded with a plethora of things I have no experience doing that were not listed in the job description. I was subsequently fired before my official start date and the only reason given was I was not a good fit. My partner was also fired as he was there working Maintenence for the same exact reason. By far the most incompetent, rude, and confrontational manager I have ever worked for.

      Lambert's Cafe RV Park

      Okay for an Overnighter

After reading a couple of reviews on this new campground (CG), we called about availability and got someone at Lambert’s Cafe who was not much help. We arrived at this new RV park addition to Lambert’s Cafe from I-57 with no issues. Coming in from I-57, we followed the signs for Lamberts and J.T. RV Park on the left side of the road. The entrance to the RV area is the second entrance into Lambert’s main parking lot. You follow the signage back to the CG which sits off to the right and behind Lambert's. This CG is first-come-first-serve. There’s a sign at the kiosk that states sites 6, 7, 8, 9, 27, 28, 29, 30,& 31 are for stays of one week or longer. We selected and parked in site 25 with FHUs, and then went back to the kiosk and paid our$40. The sites are narrow and very close to each other but this was on a Sunday and the park was fairly empty. There were about five transients overnight along with the four long-termers so having someone next to you was not an issue. There is no fire pit, picnic table, cable, or WiFI. One of the long-termers told me there’s a plan to put in a shower house, restrooms, and other amenities. We do not know if this is factual as we did not see any camp-host type of person during our stay. The CG is in an industrial area and we heard backing beeps at about 2:00 AM for a few minutes but other than that it was not bad for this type of area near a main road. We noticed a long-term resident taking their dog out and not picking up after the pet, which seemed to be common based on the'land mines' we noted while walking our dogs around. There is a dump station here that is a $10 fee if not staying in the CG. Lambert's Cafe is within easy walking distance. We had good water pressure at 50 psi and 4 bars on Verizon. This place is pretty much a parking lot with no trees so no problem with satellite. We got a good variety of OTA stations as well. This CG was a little on the pricey side for what you get unless maybe you are a huge Lambert’s Cafe fan. No surprises at this new RV Park as the sites are pretty much level and the roads easy to navigate. However, this place worked for an overnighter.

Winter camping requires preparation for occasional freezing temperatures and precipitation.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: 5 stocked ponds at Fishermans Paradise provide bass and brim fishing. "Biggins in the ponds, and great music events! The rv park at the top of the hill is great and pet friendly!" notes Dany H. The property also offers on-site kayaks and swimming areas.

Hiking near historic sites: Walking trails near B Berry Farms & Co. offer nature exploration opportunities. "This place has everything from axe throwing to free coffee and the property is engineered and planned very nicely," reports Joshua P. The farm features trails through natural areas with berry picking available seasonally.

Family recreation activities: Playgrounds and gaming areas keep children entertained at several campgrounds. "The owners are great people who take pride in their property. Very attentive and ready to help provide anything we needed. There is so much to do and for all ages," shares Hannah B. about B Berry Farms.

    What campers like

Clean, private shower facilities: Cooks RV Motor Park receives consistent praise for immaculate bathrooms. "The showers/restrooms/laundry are all in one building, and very clean and well kept," mentions Tom H. Cedar-walled shower rooms with river rock flooring are highlights at some properties.

Welcoming hosts and personalized service: Many campgrounds provide exceptional hospitality. "The hosts make this place amazing. We've stayed here twice now. The first time they welcomed us after we had a blow out and we were able to stay as long as it took to get repaired," explains Tanya M. about Cooks RV Motor Park.

Pet exercise areas: The Hook Up RV Park provides space for dogs to run. "Super friendly hosts, newer RV Park, great amenities! Loved the clean and well appointed restrooms, showers and laundry. Also have a large fire pit on site, picnic tables and plenty of space for your pup to run!" writes Kandi R.

    What you should know

Train proximity at some sites: Railroad tracks run near certain campgrounds. At Springfield - Route 66 KOA, "The only downside was that we had to pull ahead in our site to get satellite signal. So we had to back up to dump. There is a train that goes by once or twice a day, but not enough to really make a deal," reports Michael R.

Limited amenities at budget locations: Some parks offer basic services. "No bathroom except in the convenience store which closes at 8:00 p.m. The grass has not been cut. There are no showers. There is no Wi-Fi, and no cell phone service," notes John C. about Fordland RV Park.

Seasonal considerations: Summer heat affects camping comfort and pet activities. Temperatures regularly exceed 90°F in July and August, making early morning or evening the optimal times for outdoor activities with pets. Spring brings occasional severe weather requiring weather monitoring.

    Tips for camping with families

Free activities for kids: Several dog friendly campgrounds near Strafford offer recreational options. "There is a bathroom on site and beautiful campsites with all that is needed for a great stay! Would recommend to anyone who wants a unique experience," says James G. about B Berry Farms.

Cabin options for comfort: Bunkhouses provide amenities for families without tents. "We stayed in the quaint little bunkhouse with an air conditioner and all the amenities that we needed- a little frig, toaster oven, microwave, sink, coffee maker with pods, storage the we could use for our things," explains Hannah B. at B Berry Farms.

Pool access for summer cooling: Lambert's Cafe RV Park offers convenient access to nearby attractions. "Great spot to stop for a night while traveling. Basically just a parking lot behind Lambert's Cafe, but with full hookups for $30," notes Nancy V. Some nearby campgrounds feature swimming pools open from May through September.

    Tips from RVers

Level sites for easier setup: Concrete pads at some locations minimize leveling needs. "Easy access, next to hwy and lots of eating establishments close by. Full water, electric and sewer connections. Level concrete pads," mentions Jackie M. about RV Express 66.

Shopping proximity: Pet-friendly campgrounds near commercial areas allow convenient resupply. "This is a great spot, with in a stones throw to Battlefeild mall, 3 other shopping areas and plenty of restaurants to choose from," shares Johnathan R. about Ozark Highlands Mobile Home & RV Park.

Big rig considerations: Access roads vary significantly between properties. "For starters the RV park is about 1/4 down a 1 lane gravel road so if you're pulling a big rig you better hope you don't meet another vehicle," warns Joe J. about Fishermans Paradise. Research access restrictions before arrival with larger vehicles.
