    Lambert's Cafe RV Park

    Okay for an Overnighter

After reading a couple of reviews on this new campground (CG), we called about availability and got someone at Lambert’s Cafe who was not much help. We arrived at this new RV park addition to Lambert’s Cafe from I-57 with no issues. Coming in from I-57, we followed the signs for Lamberts and J.T. RV Park on the left side of the road. The entrance to the RV area is the second entrance into Lambert’s main parking lot. You follow the signage back to the CG which sits off to the right and behind Lambert's. This CG is first-come-first-serve. There’s a sign at the kiosk that states sites 6, 7, 8, 9, 27, 28, 29, 30,& 31 are for stays of one week or longer. We selected and parked in site 25 with FHUs, and then went back to the kiosk and paid our$40. The sites are narrow and very close to each other but this was on a Sunday and the park was fairly empty. There were about five transients overnight along with the four long-termers so having someone next to you was not an issue. There is no fire pit, picnic table, cable, or WiFI. One of the long-termers told me there’s a plan to put in a shower house, restrooms, and other amenities. We do not know if this is factual as we did not see any camp-host type of person during our stay. The CG is in an industrial area and we heard backing beeps at about 2:00 AM for a few minutes but other than that it was not bad for this type of area near a main road. We noticed a long-term resident taking their dog out and not picking up after the pet, which seemed to be common based on the'land mines' we noted while walking our dogs around. There is a dump station here that is a $10 fee if not staying in the CG. Lambert's Cafe is within easy walking distance. We had good water pressure at 50 psi and 4 bars on Verizon. This place is pretty much a parking lot with no trees so no problem with satellite. We got a good variety of OTA stations as well. This CG was a little on the pricey side for what you get unless maybe you are a huge Lambert’s Cafe fan. No surprises at this new RV Park as the sites are pretty much level and the roads easy to navigate. However, this place worked for an overnighter.

Port Of Kimberling Resort & Campground

    Gorgeous Autumn Camping

Stayed 3 nights. Weekend had a few family gatherings near us, but the weekdays we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Campground is well maintained with beautiful views of Table Rock Lake. We were in upper section (electric only) - the lower section next to the marina has full hookups. There are a few pull-through, but most sites are back-in and long enough for al most any rig.

Guide to La Russell

The La Russell area features several RV camping options situated among the rolling hills of southwest Missouri, where elevations range from 900-1,100 feet. Most campgrounds remain open year-round with summer temperatures averaging 85-90°F, while winter nights often drop below freezing. Cell service tends to be stronger at campgrounds closer to larger towns like Carthage.

What to do

Biking access: Blowing Springs RV Park in Bella Vista provides direct trail access for cycling enthusiasts. "This camp ground is close to a mecca of both biking and mountain biking trails. Nice bath area, only if it is hot outside it is hot in there," notes Mike B. The campground connects to extensive trail networks.

Fishing opportunities: Zans Creekside RV Park offers riverside camping with fishing access. "Nice Shady spot overlooking the river. My spot was shaded by black walnut trees. With the sound of the river in the background. Totally relaxing," reports Carl E. The park sits directly on Shoal Creek with multiple fishing spots.

Swimming options: Beagle Bay RV Haven Campground includes a swimming pool among its recreational amenities. "They have everything you could want! Arcade, swimming pool, kids playground and a pond to fish," explains Austin H. The pool operates seasonally from May through September.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Cooks RV Motor Park maintains well-kept shower and bathroom facilities. "Showers/restrooms/laundry are all in one building, and very clean and well kept," writes Tom H. The individual bathroom units receive daily cleaning.

Spacious sites: Big Red Barn RV Park offers roomier camping spaces than many area campgrounds. "Long wide sites that have grass, patios and picnic tables," notes one camper. The pull-through sites accommodate larger RVs up to 45 feet.

Friendly management: Area campgrounds consistently receive praise for hospitality. "The hosts make this place amazing. We've stayed here twice now. The first time they welcomed us after we had a blow out and we were able to stay as long as it took to get repaired," shares Tanya M. about Cooks RV Motor Park. Staff often provide local recommendations and assistance.

What you should know

Highway noise varies: Some campgrounds experience road noise due to proximity to interstates. "Convenient to Interstate 49, but virtually no traffic noise and none while inside the van," reports Gregg L. about Big Red Barn RV Park. Sites farther from roads typically offer quieter conditions.

Site types differ: Blowing Springs RV Park offers separated camping areas. "The nice thing is the tent sites are far from the RV sites so no unwanted noises for tenters in the night," explains Wendy M. RV sites typically include concrete pads while tent sites are often on grass.

Seasonal events: Several campgrounds host special activities during holidays. "We stayed 2 nights on the 4th of July weekend and had a great time. They had a 4th of July celebration for the guests!!!" shares Dan M. about Big Red Barn RV Park. Spring and fall weekends often feature community gatherings.

Kid-friendly activities: Some campgrounds offer special experiences for children. "Kim came by and took my son and 2 other kids on a golf cart ride on the trail behind the lake and they had a blast," reports Alex B. about Beagle Bay RV Haven Campground. Ask at check-in about scheduled activities.

Nature exploration: Hiking trails provide family-friendly outings. "There are great hiking trails in wooded hills on either side of the campground. The RV area has dedicated parking spots for each RV with picnic tables and fire pits," notes Annie C. about Blowing Springs RV Park. Most trails range from 0.5-2 miles in length.

Site leveling: Most RV parks in the region feature relatively level sites but may require minor adjustments. "Spaces are packed gravel, pretty level," reports Tom H. about Cooks RV Motor Park. Carrying leveling blocks remains advisable for all area campgrounds.

Membership benefits: Some campgrounds offer discounts or free stays with memberships. "It's a free concrete parking lot with hookups. Clean, a little grass for pets. Did I mention the first night is free if you register at the Casino and get a players card," shares Jim W. about Downstream RV Park. Check websites for current membership programs and benefits.
