$2 for 5 min shower!!!

The good: Beautiful location. Limited access due to 11’ 6” bridge to enter location. Not near Passion Play as indicated on Apple Maps. Double check location before you book!

The Bad: $2 for 5 min shower?! Campsite price, $40, doesn’t include shower.  No sewer hookups. Also serves as public boat ramp. Random people coming and going. Women’s toilet is a pit toilet, (outhouse)!

Close to Table Rock Lake

This was a neat and busy little campground right on the water and right next to town. Even though only a quarter of the sites were on the river/lake, there didn’t really seem to be a bad site in the entire park as they all had views of the water, and all had trees (although some were better for hammocks than others), giving everyone plenty of shade. Even the sites in the middle of the loop were good, especially if you have a large group and want a central area to congregate in the evenings. A few sites on the water had direct access to the water, so you could kayak right up to your tent/RV. There was a big playground in the middle for kids. The bathrooms/bathhouse was closed due to Covid-19, so to camp here you have to be self contained for the time being. There is a restaurant that is supposedly pretty good right next to the entrance of the campground. Take a walk out of the campground to the historic bridge over the water, and right by the bridge is an old spring house with really good drinkable water still flowing out. Just past this is a mown trail along the water that goes for a ways. A great place to stretch the legs with or without a dog.

Tucked in back off the main road, not a large campground but very scenic, right off the water, very relaxing, very close to Eureka Springs

Away From The Hustle Of Branson Or Eureka Springs

I love a good trip to Branson or Eureka Springs but sometimes no matter how much you enjoy the get away itself it is nice to not be staying as close to the action. That is where “Beavertown” comes into play and the Beaver RV Park and Campground is the perfect quiet little escape from it all.  This place is just a short distance from both of the larger cities which offer a variety of commercial tourism options.

You are close enough to Table Rock Lake and Beaver Lake to haul out the canoe or boat, in the heart of the Ozark Mountains where you can find hiking to numerous to even attempt to mention all the trails and my personal favorite, from this location you are just moments away from two of the best kept secrets in Arkansas, Rogues Castle and the Little Golden Gate Bridge.

When I was staying at another location they actually advised me to check this place out for my travel blog and what I found was a quiet little campground with limited sites which had the perfect background of the Ozarks.  This place is so quaint that there are less than 100 residents and it has been the site of several movie and tv show appearances including Elizabethtown the Blue and the Gray.

I learned all of this from talking to the more than friendly campground host which greeted me upon my arrival and told me a really fascinating history of the area. You have to have a chat if you visit!

The campground, itself was shady and almost like a post card.  There were amenities there including picnic tables and fire rings, typical of all campgrounds but also there was accessibility to ice and cold drinks. RV sites had electrical connections and a dump station and I noticed that they seemed pretty long.

The site I chose was close to the water and near the swimming beach.  While I didn’t take advantage I preferred the view and it was not crowded because of the time of year I was there so it made for a perfect place to have my coffee in the morning.

I normally take this time to start listing any negatives, but there is only one I could find and it was that AT&T had limited service when I visited.  I have had relatives visit this area since and they had no issue in this regard.

I have never been so pleased by a suggestion of a campsite and overall location and if I had more time I would have spent even more time here to take in the full potential of the area.

TIPS:

  • Use this as a basecamp for exploration.  You are only a short drive from both Eureka and Branson so if traveling during more busy times during the year commercially try to just hub here rather than having to find a campground in those areas.
  • Bring your boat. There is a launch here that you can take off from to enjoy the maximum potential of the campground itself.
