Best RV Parks & Resorts near Kingdom City, MO

RV parks near Kingdom City include Cottonwoods RV Park & Campground in Columbia with 83 level gravel pull-through sites accommodating big rigs, Cedar Creek Resort & RV Park offering full hookup services on gravel pads, and Kan-Do Kampground in Montgomery City providing year-round access with 50-amp electrical service. "The pull thru pads were accommodating for my 50 foot rig," noted one traveler at Kan-Do Kampground. Most sites feature water, electric, and sewer hookups, with prices averaging $45-50 per night for standard RV sites. Cedar Creek's sites are arranged with shared water hookups between neighboring spaces, while Cottonwoods provides more spacious layouts despite sites being relatively close together.

Several parks offer amenities beyond basic hookups, including on-site laundry facilities, clean bathhouses, and swimming pools at select locations. Wi-Fi quality varies significantly between properties, with Cedar Creek receiving positive reviews for connectivity. Reservation policies differ across properties, with Cottonwoods requiring longer cancellation notice periods than industry standard. Dump stations are available at most parks, though some reviews indicate maintenance issues at certain facilities. Pet policies also vary, with most parks allowing pets with standard restrictions. During football season, RV parks near Columbia fill quickly due to University of Missouri home games, making advance reservations essential. Road access involves primarily gravel entrance roads at Cedar Creek, which one reviewer noted left their "truck and camper covered with gravel dust."

    Lazy Day Campground

One of the Nicer Private Campgrounds

The campground (CG) was easy to find, located just 5 miles off I-70 with clear signage along the way. We parked at the designated registration area, and check-in was quick for our one-night stay. We were then escorted to pull-through site 17 with full hookups. The gravel pad was fairly level, and although the utilities were toward the back of the site, we had no trouble connecting. There were two sewer hookups—a nice touch. Water is shared, but the pressure was solid at about 50 psi. Sites are decently spaced, though some are closer together; ours was relatively close to the next site on the driver side. Our site had a nice yard, picnic table, and fire pit, but if someone had been in the site next to us, we would have been sharing that area. We got 2 bars on Verizon and 3 bars on T-Mobile, and our T-Mobile Home Internet worked very well. The CG WiFi was fine for email and web browsing. While the grounds have mature trees, most sites—including 17—are satellite-friendly. The 1/2-acre dog park was especially impressive. There was a mix of permanent, seasonal, and short-term guests. The park was clean, well-maintained, and featured fun wood carvings. The setting includes a pond and a trail to a small lake. A small camp store, ice, and propane are also available. Overall, this is a solid CG for overnight or extended stays. Out of the 325+ campgrounds we've visited, this one has the best rules sheet—hands down. It's hilarious, and you’ll instantly get their vibe!

    Good for a short stay.

Making reservations: We made reservations a few weeks in advance (glad we did). We received an email with the site and instructions, which included calling to make final payment. This one, like many private parks, has limited office hours. So, catching them while they were in the office took a few tries.

The park: That all said, the experience in the park was fine. Beautiful tree canopy covers the whole park, tiny playground for the kids at the back of the park, etc. There was plenty of space between sites for our tow vehicle and 37’ 5th wheel with 3 slide outs. Utilities were close (50/30/20, water, sewer). Pull through sites if nobody is slotted in front/behind (you pull through one site to get to the other). No branches in our way (we are 12’7” tall). This park is a combo of mobile homes, transient RVs and long term RVs.

Surrounding area: There is a gas station right up the road although it was too busy / small for us so we went back toward the main Highway where there are two big ones to choose from with plenty of space to turn. Seems to be the gateway to the Ozarks for gassing up, so plenty of space and stuff.

    Cottonwoods RV Park & Campground

    Very Nice Campground

Check-in was quick and easy and we proceeded to pull through site 83 with FHUs. The gravel pad was very long and we had plenty of room for our 40’ rig and F450. The utilities were in the middle of the pad and water pressure was decent at about 40 psi. As we were on the end of a row, we had a lot of front yard space. The sites here are very close together, but long-term guests kept their sites nice and well organized, and overall this CG was very clean. There are mature trees so satellite placement could be challenging. We were able to place our Starlink in the yard area for a good shot to the north sky. We got 4 bars on Verizon and their WiFi worked well for a campground of this size. At the office, they have a nice store and gift shop with one of the best selections of camping shirts etc. that we have seen.

    Hermann City RV Park

    Birthplace of Missouri Wine Country

Hermann is an amazing village of old world charm nestled into the Missouri River Valley. Picture book clock towers and church steeples among 19th century era brick cottages adorn the historic German immigrant influenced village with plenty of restaurants, shops and galleries for wandering pleasure. Hermann is right in the heart of Missouri wine country with two stunning wineries within walking distance of the campground; Stone Hill and Hermannhof...these are not to be missed. For cycling enthusiasts...the 240 mile Katy State Park Trail(nation's longest Rails to Trails Project) is just across the river from Hermann and follows the Missouri river through countless little river towns rich in history. A short distance south on highway 19 is the Swiss Meat Company, well worth a visit. The city park has an amazing campground operated by the City of Hermann. They offer full hook up sites(water, electric and sewer), water and electric, electric only, and tent camping. 18 full hook up sites are paved with grass areas and fire rings, 25 full hook up sites are on a paved parking lot(big rig friendly), and 8 electric only sites are on grassy area. A bath house with showers and restrooms are available, along with a dump station. To make a reservation please call the City Office, 573-486-5400, Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Full hookup(water, electric& sewer)…..$30.00 Water and electric…..$25.00 Electric only…..$20.00 Tent camping…..$15.00 This is a great spot for an overnight...but don't cut yourself short...it's absolutely great for an extended stay. http://hermannmo.com/campground/

    Osage Campground Retreat

    Full hookups but sketchy

Clean grounds, close to a conservation boat ramp and again full hookups. That’s about where it ends.

Most sites appear to be year-round Occupied. Fifth wheels with buried to sewer lines And people riding their lawn mowers outside their campers.

All things being equal it seems like more of a trailer park with a few camping vacancies.
