    Halloween fun

We stayed the weekend before Halloween and it was a very busy weekend in the campground. Some sites were extravagantly decorated and trick or treating following a golf cart parade was fun. The park is nice. The only reason I did give 5 stars is because the boardwalks over the lake were in desperate need of repair and unsafe.

Nice park on the Jourdan River

We enjoyed our mid October stay. Great playground and splash pad for the children. We walked the nature trail and enjoyed the river views from our campsite. This park packs them in during the summer months but was pretty quiet this time. The park is clean and very family friendly. Cell service: Verizon service with 2 bars and AT&T one bar sometimes none. We were able to stream the LSU Tigers beat Arkansas on our Verizon hot spot.

With all the new renovations over the past 4 years this is a much improved campground. Great place to camp or stop if you want to visit New Orleans or surrounding areas.

    Made a hellish trip bareable

I was coming down to New Orleans to look at some property and this park was convenient. On the way down, both of my front tires blew and I had to replace them out of pocket leaving me pretty strapped for cash.

I have never felt so welcomed anywhere. Melissa was so kind and helpful. When my AC went 3 days into my trip, she reminded me there was a lounge (that is rarely used) where I could work and that my dogs were welcome to chill in there with me.

She even made sure that I had enough water.

The restrooms are clean and private.

There is even a little dog run for the pups.

I will never stay anywhere else if I am in the city. (Well until the Orange Dragonfly Center is opened but we can talk about that later)

    Pros:

Super convenient to the French Quarter or anywhere else in the city.

    Melissa is amazing!

    Dog Run

    Lounge

    Private shower

    Cons:

    The neighborhood isn't the greatest

I did get attacked by fire ants (which were taken care of as soon as it happened)

    Fontainebleau State Park Campground

    Large State Park

Our RV GPS and Waze took us from I-12 through town to the campground (CG). Check-in at the gate was quick and friendly. We then proceeded to the South CG to back-in site 138; 50 AMP and water. The road to the site was a bit narrow for our 40’ 5th wheel and F450. To our surprise, there was a drainage ditch across from our site that made backing in difficult. When we reserved online, we did not see the ditch on the campsite map, but it’s clearly marked on the CG map we received at check-in. We are above-average backers and had to maneuver quite a bit, but we finally got in. We do not recommend this site for any pull trailers over 35’. The good thing about 138 is that it’s one of the few spacious sites in the CG. The sites across the road are smaller and closer to each other. We also posted a picture of the CG map. Also, not available online was a 50% senior discount that was applied at check-in. We had no issue with the utilities. There are a lot of large trees in this loop but we were able to get a clear north shot for Starlink. We had three bars on Verizon. There are plenty of long sites, but big rigs need to choose their sites carefully i.e. read reviews and possibly call the park concerning specific sites. There’s lots to do and see in this state park, but it wasn't really our thing, so we likely won't be back.

    Great last min solo camp

Park was nice, bathrooms were clean. Site was a good size, plenty of shade. I didn’t have any neighbors so that was nice! Tons of wildlife to be seen. The raccoons are smart, and not scared of humans, lol

    Great camp

Came for the weekend as a last minute solo camp. Tons of wildlife! Clean park with hot showers! I would definitely lock all food in your car. Raccoons around here will unzip your tent and rob you 😂

    Good for RV spot overnight

Stayed here because it was so close, literally a block away, from the Mississippi Colosseum, for granddaughters cheer competition. We checked it and were greeted at arrival, with information packet. FHU, back-in concrete pad, and small dog park. A nice clubhouse and facilities, although we did not use. Directly across the street from the beach, perfect for photos. Clean pool but too cold to use. Very close to neighbors and backed up to apts, which the garbage truck came super early on Sat, dumpster on other side of fence. We were up early, but if you like relaxing and peacefulness, probably not my choice. Close to lots of area attractions, stores and restaurants. Many closed for off season, however. Waffle House next door to RV park. Good for short stay!

    Not bad, but . . .

Close to the water, and the beach is well maintained, but the water is so shallow that at low tide you don't get rolling waves that are usually part of the a beachfront experience.  And there were lots of sand gnats, at least during our earlly April visit.  Otherwise, we considered the price reasonable for full hookups, and the speed limit on the adjacent road is slow (25 mph) with little traffic, at least during the week.

The previous reviewer indicated that this place is not big rig friendly.  Don't know what was there  when that review was written in 2021, but as of this writing, there are two separate lots to park your RV.  The north lot is certainly tight, but the south lot has angled concrete aprons that are of ample size for big rigs.

    Friendly and helpful staff.

It's a pretty big R. V. Lot. $50 per night on average. Quiet and peaceful. Not too many mosquitoes flying around, but if you plan on going to new orleans that uber will cost you about sixty bucks one way ;). There's a laundromat 2$ for wash and 2 for dry. And a dollar general right across the street in case you need some little things.

    Very nice camping resort

Beautifully kept resort with nice full hook up camspots, fences in dog park, pools for adults and kids, camp store, bar, grill, lake and hot tub. Also have nice facilities for showers and laundry that takes credit cards ( yay, no need for quarters). The only downside for me is they played music so loud at the outdoor bar that my ears hurt and could carry on a conversation. Our site next to dog park which was cute but a lot of excited dog barking from sun up to sun down.

    Overall great park

I went camping for New Years. My campsite was right next to the bathrooms which was super convenient and surprisingly not noticeably busy. Thought I would have access to the water but didn’t. The hiking trail connects just across the road so easy access but kind of hard to find the trailhead. Enjoyed hiking the trail and had plenty of spots with water along the way for my dog. We hiked on the beach as well and it was quite peaceful we were basically the only ones.

    Perfect spot to unplug

We had an amazing time at Creekside! I stayed here with three friends over the weekend and it was the perfect getaway. We booked the yurt, which came with a super comfy bed, a few extra snacks and even some art supplies to use. The campsite was very spacious with easy access to the creek.

Alicia was a lovely host and we had a great time at the biscuit class in the morning, which included free snuggles with her pups. We will be back!

    Animal Cruelty - Horrible experience

We were on a 12 hour haul coming from FL. I allotted for 30 min of traffic and 30 min to pick up a horse on our way. Neither of those things happened so we ended up being about an hour early. I texted the host when I was 3 hours out letting her know our new arrival time. She said she wasn't available and I'd have to wait. I said I can't wait, I've had horses on the trailer for 12 hours. She said I was not to unload and was to leave them standing on the trailer while I waited for her. I asked for simple instructions on where to put my animals. She refused. This is absolutely unacceptable and animal cruelty. I ended up having to desperately find another place to go for my horses while on the road. She refused to refund my money. I cannot say enough negative things about this place or the woman who runs it.

Great staff new RV park beautifully done.

We stayed here after picking up our new 5th wheel from Dad's Camper outlet. Not even a mile away. I hope this is allowed, Cat Trent and Ricky were great with getting our new 5th wheel ready for us. Check them out for any RV needs. The staff was very nice. The campground was very nice. It is only 4 months old. All the amenities you need and expect from a KOA. The only difference is that it's new and not run down. Pull through sites are level and concrete. As you can see from my pics, it was raining quite hard.

Quiet Getaway with Great Activities and Amenities

We stayed at spot 31. Near the restrooms but not much through traffic. Dumpster was right next to the bathrooms. Not a lot of street lights throughout the campground made things nice and quiet at night. Spots were gravel and needed a lot of leveling front to back. The site had a very nice deck with a picnic table. The site had full hookups for water, electricity, and sewage. The site had great Verizon and T-mobile cell service, around 50-80 mbps for each. The hiking trails were very nice with lots of shorts and long options. The bike trails were also nice with a lot of different difficulty options to try, you can also rent bikes if needed. Overall the campground was clean, very quiet, very spacious, and is a perfect weekend getaway with fun activities. We camped at Bogue Chitto State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Big campground with lots of activities

We stayed in the Uplands RV area and it was great. Spots were gravel and big so it was pretty easy to back into, with nice patios and not too close together. Some spots had motorhomes on a lift on the front to be level, but most were fine. The bathrooms near us were clean but the showers did have some mold (did not use). The trails are really nice! You can tell a lot of work goes into continual improvement and upkeep.

Bring or rent bikes and canoes! Would visit again , for sure.
