      German Ridge

      Travel Trailer Friendly Site

Right off of German Ridge rd after you pass Tree Farm rd heading south. Road switches from asphalt to fire road but its pretty short to the pull off. There's at least a few more of these further down too. Site has a spacious opening and easy drive up. Plenty of room for 3 vehicles or a longer trailer.

      Flat spots galore.

Hoosier National Forest South Slope Loop Campground

      Great sites

Each campsite has trees encircling them for mostly shade and a little more privacy. Only thing they could do is add more full hook up sites. Shower houses and restrooms are very well kept.

      Harmonie State Park Campground

      Nice State Park

Nice quiet wooded campground. We were only here 1 night, but it was very enjoyable. Very large campground with shaded & sunny spots, mostly level, showers & bathrooms were clean, but no locks on the doors in women's & no doors in the men's, only curtains. Double lane dump station well laid out & good water pressure. We were here 2nd week in September on a Friday so it was not crowded, but I suspect during the summer it would be. The mosquitoes were bad so be prepared. All in all we would stay again.

      Miles Landing Campground

      Quiet setting

The campground is convenient to the interstate but not close enough to be noisy & is a short drive to Evansville. It has well maintained restrooms & easily accessible sites around a big loop. It looks like it would be a great event camping spot.

      Lake Malone State Park Campground

      Quiet but nice

The campsites were very nice. The park is undergoing a few changes currently to better the campgrounds. But the trails were great (although we were covered in bug bite due to our failure to put on bug spray).

      Scales Lake Park

      Beautiful lake, nice petting zoo!

Very nice park with great trails and cute animals in the included petting zoo! I don’t have kids but there were a couple playgrounds I saw. The 2 downsides were I went second week of August and it was 93 degrees but they had just closed the beach area and pool so no swimming. I had taken my paddleboard but had not read all the rules and regulations and no Paddleboard’s are allowed on the lake because swimming outside the beach area is not allowed. I stayed at a primitive site in my van so even though it was crazy hot I still had a great spot by the water-109. Would recommend this park

Family attractions: Holiday World theme park is located approximately 30 miles east of Owensboro, making Lincoln State Park a strategic base. "Lincoln State Park is usually packed. It's less than 10 miles away from Holiday World. I think a lot of theme park visitors camp here," shares Danielle M.

    What Campers Like

Privacy options: Camp Safe Haven provides a more secluded camping experience with limited sites. "Very private and quite less than 10 sites on property! Owners are very friendly! Does have above ground pool along with swing set, trampoline for kiddos," reports Jessica D.

Kid-friendly amenities: Warrick County Park offers unique features beyond standard campground facilities. "There was a free petting zoo which was great but the animals seemed very discontented," notes Fox S., adding that the park is "Well priced and serene."

    What You Should Know

Site spacing: Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph receives mixed reviews regarding site proximity. "Our spot was great and didn't require much leveling. We did get a deluxe spot.
