Best RV Parks & Resorts near Upland, CA

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Rancho Jurupa RV Park in Riverside offers 50-amp hookup sites with full water and sewer connections. The campground features concrete pads in the Cottonwood section and dirt sites in the Lakeside area, with both sections accommodating large motorhomes. "Spaces are one of the cleanest I seen. Ranger is on constant patrol," noted one camper about the security at this gated facility. Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas provides spacious RV sites with 50-amp electric service, many offering lakefront views with paved parking pads. Fairplex RV Park in Pomona sits directly across from the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds with tight spacing between sites that can challenge larger rig positioning.

Full hookup sites throughout the region typically require advance reservations, especially during weekends and special events at nearby venues. While Bonelli Bluffs enforces a maximum 21-day stay policy, other parks may allow longer-term arrangements. Sanitary dump stations are available at most locations, though pull-through sites with sewer connections command premium rates. Pets are permitted at all major RV parks, though breed restrictions may apply. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F, making functional electricity for air conditioning essential between June and September. Cell service remains strong throughout these urban and suburban locations, with most parks positioned within 15 minutes of shopping centers and fuel stations.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Pineknot

Pineknot Campground, Big Bear Lake, Ca

A bit challenging to locate via Google Maps... Just go up (south) Summit Blvd, when you get to the parking lot of the ski resort, veer towards the left, and just past a concrete wall, you'll see the little Pineknot Campground sign attached to an aluminium pole. The campground is very cozy, countless tall pine trees, clean bathrooms, clean sites, water from taps, no hookups, and not for big rigs. The hosts are friendly, but strict! No generators from 8 pm to 8 am, a $3000 fine if your campfire is left unattended, and no rowdy obnoxious behavior is tolerated! We appreciated the rules, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, quiet, deep in the woods getaway!!

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

The region sits at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains with elevations from 1,200 feet in the valley to over 8,000 feet in nearby mountains. What to Do

Waterfront activities: At Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas, visitors enjoy multiple water-based activities. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," notes one visitor who particularly enjoyed bringing horses.

Hiking to waterfalls: Just 20 minutes from Upland, Bonita Ranch Campground offers direct access to waterfall trails. "Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground... Beautiful scenery and we even got a dusting of snow!" reports a camper. Another mentions the site is "close to Bonita Falls which is nice" though noting there's "a lot of people at the falls and SO much tagging."

Mountain biking: Serious cyclists can access trails from Skypark Camp RV Resort. "SkyPark is right across the street for mountain bikes," one reviewer notes. The campground sits at higher elevation with "views for miles" and serves as an excellent base for mountain recreation activities.

What Campers Like

Spacious spots: Many campgrounds accommodate larger vehicles with adequate spacing. At Rancho Jurupa RV Park, a camper appreciated that "Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up. Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups." Another noted distinct camping areas: "Cottonwood is for the true RV'ers. Lakeside is more for tent camping."

Urban nature escapes: Canyon RV Park provides unexpected natural surroundings despite its urban location. "I literally forgot where I was because it's like a little bubble... enter the park everything behind you just melts away and I felt like I was in the woods," explains a camper who appreciated the contrast with the surrounding development.

Kid-friendly amenities: Multiple RV parks near Upland cater specifically to families. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," notes a visitor to Rancho Jurupa. Another camper highlighted the combination of natural and built features: "Water park and mini golf for kids. Showers and laundry convenient. Camping spots all have fire pit and spacious area for RVs and tents."

What You Should Know

Yellow post sites: For primitive camping, Keller Peak Yellow Post Campsites offer dispersed options. "There are only 9 sites stretched across 5 miles so you will have no neighbors," explains one camper. These sites require timing: "Get there earlier to find a spot, people seem to stay for awhile."

Seasonal considerations: Many campgrounds experience dramatic weather shifts. "Weather is definitely colder than in the valley, got snow overnight in mid May," reports a Keller Peak visitor. Similarly, Skypark Camp RV Resort at higher elevation offers cooler temperatures during summer months.

Security practices: Most established rv campgrounds near Upland implement security measures. In Rancho Jurupa, "gates close at 10pm, you're provided with a security gate code to get back in if you're out late." This campsite also has "Ranger on constant patrol" according to visitors who felt safe throughout their stay.

Tips for Camping with Families

Water features: Newport Dunes RV Resort offers extensive water-based activities specifically designed for children. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," explains a repeat visitor who returns annually with family.

Budget considerations: Pricing varies dramatically between campgrounds. While premium resorts like Newport Dunes charge higher rates, more affordable options exist. For budget-conscious families, Bonita Ranch Campground offers reasonable rates, with a camper noting it provides "a little gem hiding out in Lytle Creek" with "easy access to a pretty trail."

Entertainment options: Several campgrounds provide built-in entertainment. Canyon RV Park has "fun events on many of the weekends" according to a long-term camper. Similarly, at Bonelli Bluffs, one visitor appreciated the recreational variety: "There's good hiking and bike riding and fishing. They have a pool."

Tips from RVers

Spacing considerations: RVers should research site dimensions carefully. At Fairplex RV Park, visitors warn "you are packed in pretty tightly" and "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay." Another reviewer cautions, "not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in."

Utilities management: Full-hookup options vary by location. Several campgrounds offer 50-amp service appropriate for larger vehicles. In Skypark Camp RV Resort, "Full hook ups" are standard with "wonderful camp hosts, very clean bathrooms and showers."

Transportation planning: Many rv campgrounds near Upland provide convenient access to attractions. At Anaheim Harbor RV Park, "the ART bus picks up straight from the campground" for Disneyland access.
