Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Thornhill Broome Beach — Point Mugu State Park

    Beach camping on PCH!

Spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. Campground has trash, porta-potties, and appeared to have potable spigots but didn't confirm. Verizon service was hit or miss, but with a booster it was usable. Nice fire rings and picnic tables. Only downside was highway noise, but the surf drowned out all but big-rigs. Saw dolphins and seals back to back days! We're so glad we went, and if we pass by again we will be staying for sure!

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    O'Neill Regional Park

Great Tucked Away Spot in Orange County

    SITE:

This site is great if you like hiking, biking, MTB, and running. It is very clean, and the showers are free and clean as well. It's tucked back in the canyon, but you will still hear all the traffic from the road. Since it is a canyon, many loud cars and motorcycles zoom past at high speeds.

    Free dump station.

    SURROUNDING AREA

There aren't too many shops in close proximity, but there are shops down the road a few minutes away if you need supplies.

    ACTIVITIES

The campground is located next to Oneil Park, which is huge and great for bike and running. There are many hiking trails nearby in all directions. I usually ride to Caspers from the campsite or Trabruco creak up to Holy Jim.

    Tapo Canyon Park

Clean and quiet, except for the birds

This is a very nice campground near everything but still away from it all. No issues parking our 42' 5th wheel here. Clean and quiet despite the peacocks. They can be rather loud when startled. I swear they could hear my morning alarm and squawked their disapproval. The camp host Shawn is AMAZING! Bathrooms are very clean. Showers are coin operated. DO NOT expect cell service. I could only work from this spot by placing my mobile HomeFi router on top of the camper. Our Verizon phones were paper weights. Make sure your reservations are complete online before arriving. The Rangers check the spots multiple times a week. The kids enjoyed the playground and fields. It's not uncommon to see and hear movie/TV production crews at the filming locations along the road. Pet friendly but be careful at night. Mountain lions were spotted while there.

Guide to Palos Verdes Estates

The coastal region near Palos Verdes Estates features several RV camping options within 25 miles, with seasonal temperatures averaging 65-75°F year-round. Unlike inland campgrounds, coastal RV parks near Palos Verdes Estates experience morning fog patterns that typically clear by midday, especially during summer months. Wind conditions can intensify during afternoon hours at beachfront camping areas.

What to do

Beach activities access: At Malibu Beach RV Park, campers can enjoy direct beach access for swimming and sunbathing. "It's a beautiful spot with ocean view. It's also near Santa Monica and Venice beach," notes Mara C. The park sits on a bluff with panoramic views of the Pacific.

Biking trails: The coastal bike path near Dockweiler Beach RV Park extends over 20 miles. "Right off a very nice coastal 20+ mile walking/biking path," reports PJ M. Bike rental kiosks available on-site make this accessible for visitors without their own equipment.

Urban attractions: From Hollywood RV Park, visitors can access Los Angeles attractions via rideshare services. "We took an uber. If you stay on the West side of the city it's okay (still 50/60 USD) for a single ride," mentions Manon S., who adds that parking at malls before taking rideshare to beach areas can reduce costs.

What campers like

Organized activities: Newport Dunes RV Resort offers structured entertainment options. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," explains Karissa J., highlighting the family-focused amenities.

Pool facilities: Multiple parks offer swimming options regardless of beach conditions. "We really enjoyed having the hot tub/pool at the end of the day. Our girls loved swimming and soaking," shares Zach R. about Waterfront RV Park in Huntington Beach.

Military option: Active duty and retired military personnel have access to an additional camping option. "This is a military only RV Park. Very clean, cement slab, walking paths well lit and near to many areas to explore. Wetlands on the base and birds galore," explains Geri J. about Seabreeze At Seal Beach, noting its unique access requirements.

What you should know

Security considerations: Some coastal parks have experienced property theft issues. "Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping," cautions Carlyne F. at Waterfront RV Park, adding that "there are many homeless folks living in the area."

Noise factors: Airport proximity affects some locations. At Dockweiler Beach RV Park, "You will hear each and every of the planes taking off from LAX, but at one point you don't hear them anymore. It was not really annoying, but that flight at 5a was..." reports Ignasi M.

Seasonal operation: Several RV parks have limited operating seasons. Huntington Beach RV Campground "opens back up in October due to the high traffic of summer visitors," explains Brittney C., noting its seasonal availability from October through May only.

Tips for camping with families

Disney proximity: Orangeland RV Park offers convenient Disney access. "Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground. A covered play area, helpful staff, heated pool as well as a hot tub," reports Amanda G., highlighting its family-friendly amenities.

Beach accessibility: Parks with direct beach access offer added value for families. "The most fantastic thing about this RV spot is the location - directly facing a large, beautiful, clean beach with built in fire rings," notes Darlene M. about Dockweiler Beach RV Park, emphasizing how quickly families can transition from RV to beach.

Extra costs: Be aware of additional fees for family camping. "Despite Disneyland being a family destination, their campsites are for 2 people only. You must pay for each additional person over 10 years old," cautions Prentice F. about rv parks in Anaheim, noting that many parks charge extra for children and pets.

Tips from RVers

Site selection: Choose sites strategically based on your RV size. "We stayed in site number 43 in our 29 foot Class A. It was just fine. If I were again to come, I would stay in a site in the 84-89 numbers, and the sites 26-36 are HUGE," advises Zach R. about Waterfront RV Park in Huntington Beach.

Extended stays: Some parks accommodate longer-term visitors. "We've stayed here about 3 times. Last few times has been lovely. The location they placed us in was where we were last year and it's perfect!" shares Douglas T. about Golden Shore RV Resort, noting the consistency of service for returning visitors.

Assistance with parking: Some parks offer help with difficult parking situations. "Steve the owner is amazing and the team will take your rig on a forklift to your site and fully set you up," explains Mel B. about Hollywood RV Park, addressing the challenges of tight spaces in urban RV parks near Palos Verdes Estates.
