Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

Thornhill Broome Beach — Point Mugu State Park

    Beach camping on PCH!

Spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. Campground has trash, porta-potties, and appeared to have potable spigots but didn't confirm. Verizon service was hit or miss, but with a booster it was usable. Nice fire rings and picnic tables. Only downside was highway noise, but the surf drowned out all but big-rigs. Saw dolphins and seals back to back days! We're so glad we went, and if we pass by again we will be staying for sure!

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to Lynwood

Campers seeking RV accommodations near Lynwood, California can access several facilities within a 30-mile radius. The area experiences a Mediterranean climate with average temperatures ranging from 55°F in winter to 75°F in summer. Most campgrounds in this urban region stay open year-round, with peak season occurring during summer months when advance reservations become essential for securing spots.

What to do

Water activities at Newport Dunes: The lagoon at Newport Dunes RV Resort features inflatable obstacles for climbing. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," notes a camper. Water activities remain popular through most of the year.

Fishing opportunities: At Rancho Jurupa RV Park, visitors can fish for catfish in the small lake. "Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons. Water park and mini golf for kids," mentions a visitor. The park provides shaded areas with tables for picnicking by the lake.

Explore local attractions: The proximity to Disneyland makes Orangeland RV Park convenient for theme park visits. "Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground," reports one camper. Several campgrounds offer public transport connections to major attractions, reducing the need to move your RV.

What campers like

Security features: Many parks implement security measures to ensure guest safety. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes... Ranger is on constant patrol," reports a visitor about Rancho Jurupa RV Park. Security gate codes are often provided for after-hours access.

Clean facilities: Consistently mentioned across reviews is the maintenance of bathrooms and laundry areas. "The bathrooms, showers, and laundry are always spotless," notes a camper at Golden Shore RV Resort. Most parks maintain 24-hour restroom access, though some may lock facilities during late-night hours.

Pool amenities: Swimming pools provide relief during warm days. "Pool & jacuzzi are nice," mentions a visitor to Golden Shore RV Resort. Several parks maintain heated pools and hot tubs that operate year-round, with some implementing reservation systems during busy periods.

What you should know

Military-only facilities: Certain campgrounds have restricted access. "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security," explains a visitor about Seabreeze At Seal Beach. Always verify eligibility requirements before booking military facilities.

Parking logistics: Urban campgrounds may have complex parking arrangements. At some parks, RV length restrictions include the hitch length. Standard sites often accommodate specific vehicle configurations, with additional charges for tow vehicles at certain facilities.

Limited tent camping: While many parks primarily serve RVs, some offer limited tent options. "There are only two tent sites (T1 and T3), the rest are for RVs," notes a camper about Anaheim Harbor RV Park. Tent sites typically cost less than RV spots but may lack electrical hookups.

Tips for camping with families

Water parks on-site: Splash pads provide entertainment for children. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," reports a camper about Rancho Jurupa Park. Water features typically operate seasonally, with most open from late spring through early fall.

Evening activities: Some parks organize nighttime entertainment. "They had a movie on the beach when we were there, and fun water toys out," mentions a visitor about Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort. Evening programs often run on weekends and during summer months.

Recreational amenities: Parks often maintain playgrounds and sports facilities. "Camping spots all have fire pit and spacious area for RVs and tents," notes a visitor. Many locations offer bike rentals or trails suitable for family cycling excursions.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Choosing the right site makes a significant difference. "We had a great spot overlooking the bay," notes a visitor to Malibu Beach RV Park. Premium sites with ocean or lake views typically cost 20-30% more than standard spots.

Space considerations: Site dimensions vary considerably between parks. "Any standard site is a parking lot no grass," advises an RVer. Many urban parks feature tight spacing between units, with deluxe or premium sites offering more room for slide-outs and outdoor gear.

Hookup variations: Electrical service differs between locations. "Every spot has a great view of the Pacific Ocean from high upon a cliff," mentions a camper about Malibu Beach RV Park. Most parks provide 30/50-amp service, water, and sewer connections, though specific availability varies by site category.
