Los Alamitos offers several RV parks within a short driving distance. Newport Dunes RV Resort features 372 sites with concrete and sand pads, providing full hookups including 50-amp electric service. Sites have cement slabs with fencing for privacy and accommodate big rigs. Golden Shore RV Resort in Long Beach provides concrete RV pads with full hookups in an urban setting near the waterfront. "This is a very clean and well maintained park with a lot of amenities," one camper shared about Newport Dunes, noting the family-oriented atmosphere. Orangeland RV Park in nearby Orange receives high ratings (4.9/5) and offers spacious motorhome sites with 50-amp service and big-rig accessibility, though alcohol is not permitted on the grounds.

Reservation policies vary significantly among these RV parks. Several require full payment at booking with limited refund options, and popular waterfront locations like Bolsa Chica State Beach require reservations six months in advance. Military personnel have exclusive access to Seabreeze at Seal Beach and Los Alamitos Army Campground, both offering full hookup sites. Between November and May, Huntington Beach RV Campground (Sunset Vista) provides seasonal oceanfront camping with 50-amp service. Most parks maintain clean shower facilities and dump stations, though site spacing can be tight, particularly at urban locations. A review mentioned that Newport Dunes becomes significantly more expensive during peak season, with winter rates approximately one-third the summer prices.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

      Bonelli Bluffs

      Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

      Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

      Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

      Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

      Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

      Orangeland RV Park

      Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

      Pros:

      • The price for the area is worth it!
      • Amazing staff.
      • Free citrus picking!
      • Pool, mini golf on site.
      • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
      • Camp store.
      • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
      • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
      • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
      • Security at night.
      • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
      • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
      • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
      • Good wifi

      Cons:

      • Stinky dog runs
      • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    Guide to Los Alamitos

Los Alamitos RV accommodations extend beyond the immediate city limits, with several options within a 30-minute drive. The area's Mediterranean climate creates favorable camping conditions year-round with average temperatures ranging from 57°F in winter to 75°F in summer. Most campgrounds in the region operate on paved surfaces with designated sites for various RV sizes.

    What to do

Beach access: At Huntington Beach RV Campground, you can enjoy oceanfront camping from October through May. "We had beach front views, everything was clean and other rv'ers were friendly," notes one visitor. The campground closes during summer months when the lot returns to beach parking.

Fishing opportunities: Rancho Jurupa RV Park offers fishing in their small lake. "Lots of families with children, fishing for catfish in the little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake," explains a camper. The facility is located approximately 40 minutes from Los Alamitos.

Water activities: Several rv campgrounds near Los Alamitos provide water recreation. "This one is to die for when it comes to kayaking," mentions a visitor about Seabreeze At Seal Beach. Water features range from lakes to beach access depending on the specific facility.

    What campers like

Urban conveniences: Golden Shore RV Resort offers proximity to city amenities while maintaining a secure environment. "Great Long Beach location, a nice bike ride along the beach to Naples and the Queen Mary," shares one camper. The park maintains a gated perimeter with controlled access.

Spacious layouts: Some rv parks around Los Alamitos provide more room than others. At Canyon RV Park, "The spaces are well spaced out and you're not right on top of your neighbors," notes a long-term camper. This contrasts with more compact urban facilities.

Pool facilities: Multiple campgrounds maintain swimming pools. "Clean, comfortable sites near Long Beach Marina and downtown. Good biking, walking lanes. Pool & jacuzzi are nice," reports a visitor at Golden Shore RV Park. Seasonal pool availability varies by location.

    What you should know

Military-only access: Seabreeze At Seal Beach requires military credentials. "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security," explains a reviewer. Non-military visitors cannot access this facility.

Bathroom access limitations: Some parks restrict facility hours. At Golden Shore RV Resort, "Only downside is they lock the bathrooms from 8pm-730am," notes one camper. Always check individual campground policies regarding bathroom availability.

Seasonal availability: Certain campgrounds operate on limited schedules. Huntington Beach RV Campground runs from October through May, as noted by a visitor: "This opens back up in October due to the high traffic of summer visitors." Advance planning is necessary for seasonal stays.

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some locations. Canyon RV Park sits "bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible," according to one visitor. Bring earplugs if sensitive to traffic sounds.

    Tips for camping with families

Activity centers: Anaheim Harbor RV Park provides family amenities. "Nice bathrooms and hot showers with laundry on location. Good amount of space between sites. Very short drive or 20ish minute walk to Disneyland," notes a visitor. The park offers easy access to major attractions.

Playground facilities: Some campgrounds feature dedicated play areas. "A splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," mentions a camper about Rancho Jurupa RV Park. Check ahead for age-appropriate equipment.

Group camping considerations: Family groups should research specific sites. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties," reports a visitor about Rancho Jurupa Park. Group amenities often differ from standard sites.

Security features: Safety measures vary between facilities. Anaheim Harbor RV Park provides "On-site guard at night for safety," according to a visitor. Ask about security protocols when traveling with children.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: At Orangeland RV Park, location matters. "I'd try to stay closer to Struck and the western side," advises a regular visitor. Many parks have preferred sections based on noise or amenity proximity.

Parking limitations: Some facilities charge for additional vehicles. "If your travel trailer is 21ft you MUST pay for a parking spot even if your total length is less than 40 ft," warns a camper about Anaheim Harbor RV Park. Always verify parking policies and associated costs.

Hookup variations: Electric service differs between parks. "There's a dump station, but a couple spots with dump but they were always booked. I will book ahead next time. 50⚡️ 💧👍," notes a camper at Rancho Jurupa Park. Reserve specific hookup requirements well in advance.

Size restrictions: Many rv campgrounds in Los Alamitos and surrounding areas have strict length limits. Golden Shore RV Resort can accommodate larger units in certain areas: "Spots are close together unless you end up with a larger spot." Call ahead to confirm your RV will fit.
