Best RV Parks & Resorts near Huntington Beach, CA

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Huntington Beach offers several RV parks with easy beach access. Waterfront RV Park provides electric and water hookups directly across from the beach, though sites are not big-rig friendly. Huntington Beach RV Campground features full hookups with 50-amp service and can accommodate larger RVs, but operates seasonally from October through May. Newport Dunes RV Resort, located in nearby Newport Beach, maintains 372 full-hookup sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service on concrete pads. Golden Shore RV Resort in Long Beach includes full hookup sites with picnic tables and proximity to boat access points. "Each spot has fence around it which is nice. Very clean facility. A bit loud on the weekends," noted one camper about Newport Dunes.

Reservations should be made well in advance, particularly for beachfront locations during summer months. Most RV parks in the area charge premium rates compared to inland options, with Newport Dunes commanding the highest fees. Several reviews mention security concerns at some locations, with one visitor reporting stolen property despite the proximity to beach amenities. Pet policies vary between parks, with most allowing pets but enforcing leash requirements. Dump stations are available at most parks, although Stone Villa RV Park offers electric hookups without sewer connections. Beach RV camping typically involves tight spacing between sites, with one reviewer noting: "Spots are close together unless you end up with a larger spot." Military personnel have additional options at Seabreeze RV Park in Seal Beach, which requires military clearance for entry.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach camping options stretch along the Southern California coastline where winter temperatures average 68°F. RV campers find multiple parks that operate year-round, though Huntington Beach RV Campground runs seasonally from October through May when beach traffic diminishes. Several campgrounds enforce pet limits, with Orangeland RV Park specifically restricting campers to two dogs per site.

What to do

Water activities: Seabreeze At Seal Beach offers excellent kayaking access. "This one is to die for when it comes to kayaking," reports one visitor. Military ID required for entry.

Biking trails: Golden Shore RV Resort connects to shoreline paths. "Easily walkable or there are always E bikes and scooters to rent right outside the gate," notes a camper. The resort sits near Long Beach Marina with dedicated bike lanes throughout.

Family recreation: Canyon RV Park maintains a ropes course, pool, and weekend events. "They even have fun events on many of the weekends," mentions a long-term camper. Located between Corona and Yorba Linda, this park offers access to regional trail systems despite its proximity to highways.

What campers like

Proximity to attractions: RV sites near Huntington Beach provide convenient access to multiple Southern California destinations. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," reports a camper at Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Ocean access: Sunset Vista RV Park sits directly on the beach. "At night, you can build a bonfire, which is really fun and one of the few spots in Orange County that you can do this," shares one family. The park closes during summer months when the lot converts to public beach parking.

Pool facilities: Newport Dunes RV Resort offers water recreation beyond the beach. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," explains a regular visitor. Located in Newport Harbor's back bay.

What you should know

Security concerns: Several campgrounds implement security measures with varying effectiveness. "Security is very good and felt very safe, especially considering the location," writes one reviewer about Golden Shore RV Resort, while another camper cautions about theft at a different location.

Space limitations: Most RV sites have tight spacing configurations. "Spaces are well spaced out and you're not right on top of your neighbors," reports a Canyon RV Park visitor, contrasting with other facilities where proximity is much closer.

Seasonal availability: Anaheim Harbor RV Park maintains consistent year-round availability. "The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds are kept in excellent condition - very clean and secure," notes one camper. This park serves as an alternative when beach locations close or reach capacity.

Tips for camping with families

Splash features: Rancho Jurupa RV Park includes water features suitable for children. "LOTS of activities for families (splash pad)," mentions a visitor. The park maintains separate campground sections called Cottonwood and Lakeside, with Cottonwood recommended for RV camping.

Entertainment options: Orangeland RV Park provides on-site recreation plus transportation to local attractions. "Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground. A covered play area, helpful staff, heated pool as well as a hot tub," reports one family.

Budget considerations: Proximity to beaches increases rates significantly. A campground farther inland notes, "Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops here to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk." This service costs approximately $6 per person for all-day access.

Tips from RVers

Hookup variations: Electric and water connections differ between parks. "Sites may be very difficult to back in if longer than 35ft," cautions a visitor about one location, while another notes, "Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up."

Reservation timing: High-demand periods require advance planning for RV sites near Huntington Beach. "We spent an entire week there 02/2018. We enjoyed it. Super clean. Showers, toilets and laundry well taken care off," reports a military family at Seabreeze at Seal Beach.

Vehicle requirements: Check site dimensions before booking. "The 40ft RV length restriction includes the length of the hitch," warns a visitor at Anaheim Harbor. Some parks charge extra for parking tow vehicles if they don't fit within designated site boundaries.
