Lookout Tower Road dispersed camping welcomes pets with multiple camping spots across open areas, requiring no permits or reservations. This free campground about 40 minutes from Bentonville offers space for dogs to roam without the high grass where ticks might be present. Chad C. successfully navigated a 40-foot Bluebird Bus to this camping area, making it accessible for larger rigs despite not being designated as big-rig friendly. The area features established fire rings but lacks drinking water, electric hookups, toilets, and trash service, requiring campers to pack in and pack out all supplies.

Natural Falls State Park Campground accommodates pets at both RV and tent sites with clean, level concrete pads and nearby comfort stations. The park features 17 tent sites and approximately 45 RV sites, each equipped with picnic tables, lantern hooks, charcoal grills, and fire rings. Multiple hiking trails totaling 4.5 miles offer scenic pet-friendly walking opportunities, including access to the signature 77-foot waterfall. The park can become crowded on weekends due to its location near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border, attracting many day visitors. Verizon cell service works for phone calls in the area, though signal strength varies throughout the campgrounds.

      Natural Falls State Park Campground

      Beautiful Falls Great for Family

When traveling through Oklahoma, Natural Falls is a great place to camp. It’s on border of Arkansas and Oklahoma, near Siloam Springs. It’s peaceful. You can take your wheelchair on some of the trails and look at the Falls. There’s a steep hike down to the falls for those who can walk it. The road is paved and each site has cement pad. So if you have a special needs person with you they can get around with no prob. There is also discount for totally disabled people.

There are nice playgrounds, disc golf and trails. Camp in RV or tent. Definitely going back. Been twice already in one summer. (2019)

      Pappy’s Riverside RV Park

great place to stay off highway 412

Stayed here while we went to Strawberry Festival in Stilwell. Very convenient to highway 412 and Siloam Springs. Hosts very friendly and helpful. New park, nothing fancy but a work in progress reasonably priced. Met our needs. Great location next to Illinois River if you want to kayak. Lots of open area to tent camp. Very secluded. Loved watching fireflies over the hayfield.

      RV - River Valley

      Great little spot

It’s just a few miles to the ozark forest park. Which is beautiful no matter what time of year. There are just two spots with woods behind you; the quiet is so nice. The owner is very kind and thoughtful. Great monthly price. Includes washer & dryer, shower 24/7 right next to camp sites. 10 minutes outside of Siloam Springs but you wouldn’t be able to tell. Try Pour Jons Coffee while you are there, never disappoints!

Little Blue Area — Grand Lake State Park

      Roadside camping, maybe

I tried camping here, but I think they had already shut down for the season. The bathhouse was locked, the grass hadn’t been mowed, and there was a bit of trash blowing about. Thankfully this is just down the road from Cherokee State Park, which was still open. I walked around the campground and noticed there were about 18 or so sites, with some back in the trees a bit, away from the road. Most sites had obvious campfire rings, some had additional campfire rings not put in by the park, some had grills, but not all, and a few had a picnic table. All in all, it almost seemed like this campground had been abandoned. When I stopped in at the state information center in Siloam Springs the attendant (Betty Ross, no less!), she said that a lot of the smaller campgrounds along the big lakes are like that out of season. Anyway, across the street from Disney is Grand Lake, with a decent boat ramp that was in use even in late October. The parking lot is small, but you can just drive over the grass to your campsite. The big draw here besides the lake is the creek bed that the spillway feeds. This is apparently a hot spot for ATV/ORV driving. There were two groups of ATV/ORV’s hanging out in the ravine: one looked like a tour, and the other looked like a group of like minded friends out for a fun day.

Sugar Camp Lookout Tower Dispersed Area

      Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I rented our first camper van to see if short trips meant to create memories are do-able in a camper van, for us. 1000% yes.

This was our first experience and got exactly what was described. The road was bumpy but we had zero problems with our 4x4 rig.

Sunsets and sunrises were stunning!!! Great fall retreat. We even met a stray cat we wish we could have taken home with us. Poor thing is starving. She will come if calls and purrs when petted. We named her “Sugar” after the location.

There seems to be a private off-road recreation area that provided moderate traffic. We were kind of tucked back a bit from the road and it didn’t bother us.
