Loving the desert life and didn’t think I could

We were disappointed to get to Arizona and see all the trash at most of the other dispersed sites west and north of Phoenix and were going b line it out of here, but needed to get some work done for the night and ended up here.

Wow! Whole different beauty. The cactuses are tall, the skies are…

State Park

We camped in the Ringtail loop which is open to individual camping from January through March (usually a group camping area). It is a big gravel parking lot where they jam everyone in there. Super tight! Decent hiking trails from the park especially Romero Canyon trail. Bathrooms/showers were…

Epic stay!

I stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it. So easy to find with the coordinates. Enough people around that if I felt like I had an emergency I could ask for help but also had enough of my own space to have privacy. The view was gorgeous. Enjoy!

Dense cactus..bad for dogs!

This dispersed camping area is actually on the Cattle Tanks road south of Park Links road. The side two- track sandy roads are very narrow and bordered by dense chain fruit cholla plants. This area is not a good choice for dogs and their owners. Also shooting is in the background like everyday. …

Plenty to do

I have stayed here a twice and enjoyed both visits. Bathrooms are clean and all sites are well maintained. No wood fires are allowed but you can bring a propane fire pit. Plenty of trails are nearby.

Tucson Beauty

Beautiful state park campground. Huge, level, paved sites. All the sites in the B loops have water and electric( 20A, 30A, and 50A). Picnic table and bbq. No fire pits. Dump station near exit of loops and another near state park entrance. Nice selection of pull through and back-in sites. We had a…

Spacious, very nice

Separate dry (area a) and hook up areas (area b) first come first serve. $ 30 full hook up includes entry fee. Showers. Lots of birds. Little free library. Friendly folks all round.

Late arrival -found nice people to share their roomy campsite

Walmart nearby DOES NOT allow overnight. Did not check out amenities but the campground had roomy sites and is very well groomed. Everyone was friendly. Filled fresh tank at campsite. Dump station very clean. Great mountain biking-50 mile trail- in park.

It was fine

It worked in a pinch and was close to the national park entrance. Unfortunately, I arrived in the dark so be sure to go very carefully up the mountain. It’s very difficult to find a spot at night time because you cannot tell if it’s already taken or not. Sites are not the most level nor very big…

Great Place to Stay

There is a good mix of long term residents and travelers here. Good, clean safe place to stay with our son and two dogs. My son LOVED the swimming pool. Not a fancy resort, but a very kind, homey environment. I would stay here again.

Beatiful scenic views

It is an absolutely beautiful area, and the views more than make up for some of the shortcomings of the site. Our site was more secluded, and it was very peaceful and serene at times. There was a full moon when we went, but I would imagine the stars are just brilliant out there on darker nights.…

Great Secluded Desert Camping

Had no issues finding the place, you can see the campground signage off the paved road when it turns off into the dirt road. A few campers were present on a weekday, had to drive a ways down to find a spot for my trailer, but I did find a great pull through. Only concern is lack of turnaround for…

Great campground clean bathrooms !

While busy, this is a well ran and well managed campground. The hosts are diligent to touch base with everyone coming in (safety) and the campsites though somewhat close together, offer unique ways to capture some privacy. The mountain can get very cold and windy at night, so make sure you have a…
