Talladega Pit Stop Campground 

The closest privately owned RV Park to the Talladega Superspeedway (TSS), only 200 yards from the stands. Grandstand RV Park is under new ownership, and we are now OPEN YEAR-ROUND.

We are a very clean and quiet campground only 3 miles off the highway. Owners are on site to assist 24/7 so come in at any hour and you will have help! VERY large (45'x75') pull through sites. You won't even need to unhook while you are staying. Full hook up sites available. We have a convenient store on the property and sell beer, ice, firewood, snacks and other camping essentials. **Pets are welcome!** There is a shower house on site with very large and clean individual shower rooms and a laundry facility. We have a double dog park, horseshoes, basketball court and a kids play area at the front of the campground. Firepits are available upon request.

Welcome to Greensport RV Park located at Historic Greensport on Neely Henry Lake in Ashville, AL. Bring your RV or Camper to enjoy fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, and swimming. All sites have full hook-ups, 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer, picnic tables, fire pits, and high speed Wi-Fi. Other amenities include a bath house, laundry, playground, jumping pillow, walking/biking/hiking trails, and a General Store on site. Greensport RV Park and Campground

Parksland Retreat is located in Northcentral Alabama, tucked in the outskirts of the Talladega National Forest. Home to a handful of unique campsites perfect for groups, Parksland is not like most other Alabama camping options. There’s plenty to do at Parksland, and even more fun to be found in the surrounding area! Venture half a mile downstream to check out the Blue Hole waterfall, swim in the Private Parksland creek, or explore Talladega! Don’t forget the camera, you’re going to want to remember this. Parksland has 4 designated campsites, three that are large enough for multiple tents, one turn key site on a 16’ diameter Bell Tent on a yurt platform (with a queen bed, linens, comforter, pillows, table and two chairs) and two creekside sites only accessible by trail. Rest easy: pets are welcome at the primitive sites and firewood is available for purchase. You will also enjoy potable water, showers, trash, and wifi access. And if you’re feeling extra free, enjoy the forest au naturale! Parksland is a clothing-optional Retreat. Chinnabee Silent Trail Backcountry Site 2

Start hiking at Cheaha Trailhead, located at the far end of a parking area just before you get to Cheaha State Park on Highway 281. Follow the Cave Creek Trail until you reach the Pinhoti connector, and hang a right to take the Pinhoti Trail northbound. Look for a sign that points to McDill overlook, and follow a side trail for the last quarter mile. Along this side trail you’ll pass the wreckage of a small plane that supposedly crashed back in 1972. Look for blue and white pieces of the plane off the trail to your right. Keep going and you’ll eventually come to a campsite that would comfortably fit 3 or 4 tents, only about 100 yards shy of the overlook. Camping in this area is a great option because you’re close to the cliffs, but protected from the wind. There are also a few spots right at the cliffs that are big enough for a small tent or hammocks and have better views, but are a bit breezier. The boulder cliffs are an awesome place to hang out at sunset or for stargazing, just remember to keep a headlamp on you! The next day, backtrack the quarter mile and continue on the Pinhoti back towards Cheaha State Park. Several rocky outcroppings provide some good views along the way.

Enjoy nature at its best especially during the fall when mother nature dazzles you with an array of vibrant colors. This primitive camp is located near the Cheaha Wilderness Area and offers camping and hiking. Turnipseed Camp has sanitary facilities.

Cheaha Falls Private Backcountry Campsite

Seek adventure and solitude on the highest point in Alabama at Cheaha State Park.

At 2,407 feet above sea level, Cheaha State Park, located on top of Cheaha Mountain, offers breathtaking views and adventurous recreational activities and is great for camping near Birmingham. This 2,799-acre mountaintop retreat is known for spectacular sunsets and beautiful waterfalls. The park offers overnight guests and day visitors an array of activities as well as opportunities for rest.  Facilities include a restaurant, hotel, cabins, chalets, camping with options that range from improved to primitive, and pavilions.   

In addition to lodge rooms, cabins, and A-frame chalets, we offer improved camping in the park, semi-primitive camping near the highest point, and primitive camping near Cheaha Lake.  There is also primitive camping along mountainside trails, offering campers numerous options for getting close to nature. Groups may want to consider reserving Cheaha's historic CCC Bald Rock Lodge, which has 12 bedrooms/baths with a beautiful grand hall, for retreats, family reunions, meetings and more!
