LegendWife and I really enjoyed this park. It was whisper quiet despite being in middle of town. No sewer here if needed. Perfect place to stay if touring Jack Daniels. Lots of open areas and grass for puppies. Instructions are not very clear how to check in. Just go to visitor center then go to wiseman park. It’s zero frills, but just what you need for 1-2 nights.
RangerThe campground is fine. This is part of a large park and the park itself is pretty nice. Lots of space. My personal experience has been mediocre at best. When I checked in, the main host wasn't present. Another gentleman came over to have me pay but apparently charged me for a week instead of 10 days...no biggie. I got a call on day 4 from the host that was fairly assertive and that I wasn't supposed to be there. Had to waste my time re-explaining, waiting for the host to check my receipts, and then added on the remaining 3 days. My site (9) was also the only one with a bizarre sewer hookup. It comes out of the ground more horizontally but is also relatively high. So it took an unusual amount of time to get positioned so my drain pipe was high enough to let gravity work, and simultaneously stay far enough away for the hose to have space. Roughly 50 boyscouts came over the weekend and decided it was necessary to blow a bugle horn at the crack of dawn, and several times ended up basically at my door to get a ball or Frisbee, despite the fact that there are several gigantic fields behind the campsites that they could have enjoyed (i am glad they were outside playing, just not so close i could hear them clearly without even being loud). The park closes at dark and uses a padlock, so at about 5pm you have to get out and unlock the gate, walk back around, and then lock it back up every time you go somewhere. Just a bit outdated. We also got a little visit from the FBI during our stay!
ScoutSpacious and well maintained spots. Pull through spots available for larger rigs. Facilities well maintained and clean. The falls being driving distance away is the only drawback.

TravelerWhat a beautiful area to camp. We tent camped in a 12 person tent and had plenty of space on the grass to put the tent up. The other spots are more for RVs. The view is incredible! You can fish right on most of the sites including 41. We have 3 teenagers and they all have asked to come back to camp on this site. Plenty of privacy. We did have a bunch of kids that came through our site to visit the water which I was not a fan of but other than that it's truly a fantastic site. This place is wonderful! Oh, and our tmobile was spotty but still worked!
GuideWe stayed at Palomino RV Park as a layover on our trip from Indiana to Destin, and it was an excellent stop. The campground is right off the highway, and from the exit to pulling into our site was literally just a few minutes, which made it incredibly convenient for an overnight stay.
The staff was very friendly, the campground was in pristine condition, and the amenities were great. Our kids especially enjoyed the paddleboards and kayaks on the pond, and our dog loved having a fenced-in dog park to run around in.
Our site had full hookups, a nice concrete pad, and a freestanding fireplace, which made for a very comfortable stay.
If I had one complaint, it would be the $8 bundle of firewood. Compared with other campgrounds we’ve stayed at, the bundle was extremely small. That’s a very minor issue, though, and certainly wouldn’t keep us from coming back.
We would 100% book here again when traveling through Alabama. It’s a convenient, clean, family-friendly campground and an excellent overnight stop.
