Best RV Parks & Resorts near Pacific Beach, WA

Several RV parks and resorts dot the coastal area near Pacific Beach, Washington. Ocean Breeze RV Resort features 350 full hookup sites open year-round with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service. Pacific Dunes Resort in Copalis Beach provides water and sewer hookups with 30-amp electrical connections on smaller gravel sites. "Smaller RV gravel sites. Difficult for guests to back in due to sharp corners and tight smaller spaces. Space just for 26' travel trailer no room for tow vehicle," according to one visitor. Thousand Trails Oceana in Ocean City accommodates big rigs with 50-amp hookups, though sites are positioned close together with limited spacing between neighbors. The Driftwood RV Resort in Copalis Beach includes 30-amp electric connections and offers water and sewer hookups for self-contained units.

Most parks maintain year-round availability, though reservations are strongly recommended during summer and weekend periods. Dump stations are available at Ocean Breeze RV Resort, Thousand Trails Oceana, and Hoquiam River RV Park, though several reviewers mentioned occasional maintenance issues affecting dump station functionality. Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with T-Mobile and Verizon coverage reported as particularly poor at Pacific Dunes Resort. WiFi service is offered at most parks but quality is inconsistent, with one review noting the connection was "worthless unless you go to the lodge." For RVers needing propane, American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in Westport offers on-site propane filling service. Most facilities are pet-friendly but require leashing, and several parks provide beach access within walking distance of RV sites.

Hoh Rain Forest - Olympic National Park

    Just gorgeous!

We absolutely loved our stay here (9/5-9/7)! We arrived on a weekday and the campground was fairly empty, so we were able to grab a great spot in the A loop with easy access to the restrooms and the trails to the visitor center. The campground is first come, first serve, dry camping, and the dump station was out of service while we were there.

There are both back-in and pull- through sites with concrete pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. Some tight turns and low-hanging trees but our 32’ fifth wheel managed just fine. Plenty of wildlife, including deer, rabbits, birds, squirrels, and numerous banana slugs.

The visitor is an easy walk from the campground. The hiking trails were simply gorgeous and we definitely did not stay long enough to thoroughly enjoy this area of Olympic National Park.

Nearby Forks, WA is a 45 minute drive from the campground.

Two bars of Verizon LTE but it varied throughout the park.

A note about the drive in: We are very glad we arrived on a weekday! The road into this campground is narrow, and there were times we were driving over the centerline to keep our rig on the road. There is no shoulder for most of the drive and we did not want to meet any oncoming traffic with a rig as long as ours. It’s doable but take it slow!

    Copalis Beach RV Resort

    RV resort and campground

This an ideal beach access resort. There is a very nice pedestrian walkway bridge over a small stream and then a short walk through the dunes to a beautiful ocean beach. During certain times of the year vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach through various access points within a couple of miles of the resort.

We visited this resort during the off-season in November and during the middle of the week. There were only 8 other campers in the park with a few long termers. You can purchase a membership but it is not necessary to stay here. Visitors are welcome but it can be very busy during the summer time and holidays. I would call for availability.

This is an older park and facilities show their age but the bathrooms and showers were very clean. There is a dedicated tent only area and a few cabin rentals. RV sites are side by side and back to back. There is no shade. RV sites are full hookup with water, power, sewer and cable. There is also a dump site on location. Wi-fi is available for a fee, otherwise not accessible. We forgot to sign-in to our Winegard Gateway before arriving so we had data but no Wi-fi. Gravel sites with a little grass and fairly level.

Pet friendly but dogs must be leashed. Our dog had a great time running on the beach and walking the trails in the dunes.

Propane and ice available on site.

There is a community fire pit and portable propane fire pits are allowed at the sites.

Not all sites have picnic tables.

The town of Ocean Shores is about a 20 minute drive.

On site resort manager, Timothy and his wife, were very friendly and always willing to help.

    Pacific Dunes Resort

    Close together spaces

Smaller rv gravel sites. Difficult for guests to back in due to sharp cornersand tight smaller spaces. Space just for 26' travel trailer no room for tow vehicle. Used extra parking by dumpster. All utilities included. Nice wooden privacy fence behind all the rv sites. Picnic table and firepit with movable grill on it. Propane grill next to sand play area. Wifi was good. NO Cell reception for T-Mobile or Verizon.

    Hoquiam River RV Park

    Close to beaches

This campground is about 45 minutes south of Quinault Lake in Olympic NP. So it adds a lot of extra time and miles to explore ONP. It is about 20 minutes to the beaches, which was great. You can drive your car right up onto the beach, which was awesome. The showers and laundry were very clean. Site were full hookups, but very close together. Sites are very close together with no privacy. There are many long-term RV's here. The area fronting the river is very well landscaped and offers fire rings, benches, grills, and a nature path to walk your dog.

    Lake Sylvia State Park Campground

    Hidden Gem

Set in a former logging camp above the town of Montesano, park life revolves around a large swimming and fishing lake. This site is super family friendly and pet friendly too.

There is a playground on site and TONS of old logging roses turned bike trails.

There are plenty of tent and RV sites and s few primitive sites for campers. There are showers a flushing toilets.

    Pacific Beach State Park Campground

    Simplicity at the beach

There isn't a lot of privacy between slots but this campground offers RV, tent and yurts. Electrical HU only but dump site available. It's right off the beach with a little shop in walking distance. There's also a motel with an accessible laundry room nearby. There is a huge expanse of beach to play on when the tide is out. Most campers leave dogs off leash on the beach. Tons of kites flying through the summer days, it's beautiful. Campfires on the beach allowed. Camp hosts are great and facilities upkeep is well managed. Two shower tokens per dollar, each token = 3 minutes. Summer books up quickly, need to secure 9 months in advance. Cell service is very spotty and campground WiFi is as well.

    Artic Park

    Perfect Nature Campground

If you are looking for a cammpground that is not large and crowded and is what they used to be like, then this is for you. This privately owned campground has full hookups and tent sites. It has clean showers and restrooms, a rec room, and laundry. There is a tank dump and propane. You also have a bar/restaurant next door. There are 20 acres with trails that take you along a creek and a thick forest that includes wild berries. This is a welcome escape from the crazy world and crowded campgrounds.

American Sunset RV & Tent Resort

    Not busy during fall

Our friends have stayed here a few times for razor clam digging and seemed fine with it, so we tried it. We stayed 2 nights during a mid-November clam dig. There is a string of long-term campers and a string of short-term spots. It was really empty, so there were no close neighbors. I could see how it would be overly snug during a busy session with how close the sites are together. You literally have enough room for a slide out and 5 feet or so to the next site's picnic table. The covered fish cleaning station was very nice to clean clams. It's an older looking campground but we were happy with it.

    Potlatch State Park Campground

    Nice Little Spot!

Nice little camping spot close to Hoodsport and hiking at Olympic National Park. I stayed in a spot with full hookups and have a 22’ travel trailer. The spots are a bit close together and a bit difficult backing in to, but the spots themselves are clean and the park is great! The park is close to the road, but the noise from cars wasn’t too terrible. Cellphone service through Verizon was good and the trailer’s antennae picked up about 25 TV channels.

What to do

Beach activities at Copalis Beach: Copalis Beach RV Resort offers a convenient base for beach exploration. "Easy access to the beach (trail is at the edge of the property)," notes Anthony J., who adds that cellular data is more reliable than the campground WiFi. During certain seasons, vehicles can access the beach through nearby entry points.

Blackberry picking: The forests near Hoquiam River RV Park are filled with wild blackberries in late summer. One visitor mentioned, "The Forest was loaded with delicious plump berries," making this a perfect activity for campers looking for a sweet treat during their stay.

Riverside walks: Take advantage of the maintained nature paths along the Hoquiam River. "The little walking trails along the river were gorgeous," according to Chelsea B., who was impressed by the peaceful setting. These trails are well-maintained and suitable for various ability levels.

Horse riding excursions: Visit the area near JB's RV Park for equestrian opportunities. According to one camper, this location "puts you near the horse rentals," making it convenient for visitors wanting to experience the beach on horseback.

What campers like

Private camping sites: Ocean Breeze RV Resort stands out for its secluded spots. "This campground had some of the most private sites I've ever seen. Rarely can you go to an RV park and not see your neighbors," reports Zach H., who appreciated the range of site options from open areas to forest-covered spots.

River views: Many campers enjoy the waterfront settings available at several parks. According to Brian G. at The Driftwood RV Resort, "Tent site had an amazing view and easy access to the river. All sites we clean with firewood provided."

Weekend activities: Ocean Breeze RV Resort offers organized events throughout the summer. "Love the Saturday Morning pancake breakfast and the Sunday morning cinnamon rolls!" shared Cheryl C., who also mentioned enjoying the access to beaches and Ocean Shores tourism opportunities.

Ancient forests: Nature enthusiasts appreciate the old-growth forests surrounding some campgrounds. At Ocean Breeze RV Resort, campers can "Check out the over 800 year old Sequioa stumps. And the stump carvings in the meadow are so cool!" according to one visitor.

What you should know

Weather considerations: The coastal Washington climate can be unpredictable year-round. One camper at Ocean Breeze RV Resort noted, "Weather in this part of WA is notoriously bad. We were there for a week in mid August and the temps barley broke 70 with 2 days of straight rain."

Campground conditions vary: Facilities range from well-maintained to rustic. At Copalis Beach RV Resort, one reviewer observed, "This is an older park and facilities show their age but the bathrooms and showers were very clean."

Flooding potential: Some areas experience seasonal flooding. At Thousand Trails Oceana, a camper mentioned, "Apparently this campground floods as it is below sea level we went at the time of year that was completely dry."

Cell service challenges: Connectivity varies significantly by location and carrier. At Pacific Dunes Resort, a visitor reported, "NO Cell reception for T-Mobile or Verizon," which can impact communication and internet access for campers relying on cellular data.

Tips for camping with families

Look for playgrounds: Some campgrounds offer kid-friendly amenities. Ocean Breeze RV Resort features "Several playgrounds, a large pool, and other facilities that were all open," making it suitable for families with children of various ages.

Consider beach access difficulty: While many campgrounds advertise beach proximity, actual access varies. At Big Spruce Resort RV and Cabins, visitors appreciate the "Great tent sites and free hot showers," providing comfort after beach adventures.

Check for hidden features: Some campgrounds offer unexpected amenities for children. One visitor to The Driftwood RV Resort noted, "There are hidden treasures in the decor/landscaping that have been really fun for my 6 year old to spot."

Consider privacy needs: Family camping often benefits from more secluded sites. At Ocean Breeze RV Resort, campers can choose from "sites in open areas, some cut into the forest, and some completely covered by trees," allowing families to select based on their preferences.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategies: At Ocean City RV Resort, campers appreciate the "easy in and out with a trail to the beach," though one visitor warned to "bring spray" for mosquitoes. The well-groomed grounds provide a comfortable base for exploring the area.

Hookup limitations: Not all parks offer full hookups. At Ocean Breeze RV Resort, campers noted "30 amp no sewer" connections, requiring planning for longer stays.

Maneuverability challenges: Some parks have tight layouts making navigation difficult. At Pacific Dunes Resort, one RVer described "Smaller rv gravel sites. Difficult for guests to back in due to sharp corners and tight smaller spaces."

Seasonal considerations: While many RV parks near Pacific Beach, Washington remain open year-round, facilities may be limited in off-seasons. A visitor to Copalis Beach RV Resort in November mentioned, "We visited this resort during the off-season in November and during the middle of the week. There were only 8 other campers in the park."
